Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

No kidding! I was looking at the prices listed on Mousesavers. $1163-$1995 per night for a standard view RPC room before taxes. I loved the times we stayed there, but for crying out loud, that’s more than double what our monthly mortgage payments were. For 1 night! Maybe a 40% AP rate will show up again someday. Of course, by then, it’ll probably be $1200 with the discount.

I stayed RPC within the last couple of years and I think we paid around $900 per night with a full room of adults, and I thought that was high. At some point the convenience factor is outweighed by the crazy prices and I will just book a regular room. Sometimes I stay at POFQ and it feels almost free.

I'm imagining a socially distanced line to get a glass of wine and a small plate which you then take back to your room. Then if you want to get anything else, you have to get in line again.

Think beyond just the food for CL. There are so many other backstage areas that would need to come online other than the resort. The resort kitchen, increased resort custodial, DSS (roommate’s friend was laid off from there along with about 30% of the CMs) a good amount of the Enchanting Extras, as well as the DRC CMs to help with the bookings (although they had a posting this week so that is a good sign for FY2022). 1000% this! I think Disney could figure out a way to bring CL back despite the covid restrictions (even if not in the same form as previous for a bit) but right now they are dealing with a lack of possible CM’s for everything. CL does put a lot of pressure on the resorts compared to the benefits for Disney, even when we complain about it. I think Disney is still dealing with hiring more CM’s to work for them rn so they can fully open the resorts that are online, let alone the ones that are closed. CL is just not on their radar until they can do that first.

We currently have non-club (obviously) for BC booked for March but there are a lot of pluses to Club for us. If there were extra FP's or FP's at all would be something we would look at upgrading for sure...

I stayed RPC, in a deluxe king on a solo trip (in a turette room with views of both MK and Epcot fireworks) for just a little over $600 a night. The most I've spent on any non-multi room suite/villa is only slightly over $700 and that was the garden cottage room I had last year at BWI. I love CL but will NEVER pay rack rate for it, ever. Those prices online that you find are not worth it, I would never go by that as an indication on what most people pay to stay CL. Of course if most people want to think I have that much money then they are more than welcome to think that

I would just go for FP in general right now, not even extra FP, what a treat that would be!

I'm dreading when my kids are considered adults, maybe that's when I start making them chip in. Glad I still have a while until that happens.

Speaking to the CMs we know there, the occupancy rate is never all that high either. The price has to be ridiculous as it’s their signature property (worth that price or not). There will also be the occasional corporate client, weddings, events, etc who may pay it.

I am sure I will pay, incredibly sure lol. Of course that's if they can find time to go with my husband and I on all our adventures, we have big plans for travel once they move out of the house. My husband always tell them they can always come home, just make sure they clean up after themselves so when we get home from our trip it's not a mess (he's only halfway joking I think lol).

I've still only paid that much for one room with a discount and that was the garden cottage. Usually get my non-CL rooms for $300-400, CL for anywhere from $500-650 usually. BUT if you start looking at the 1-2 bedrooms with CL access it gets way too expensive, and I was lucky to even get the garden cottage for what I did thanks to the great tech glitch of 2019. I say RPC was worth what I paid discounted, under $700 (but it is so far the best room I've ever had on property), you are paying to be in that main building with everything that comes with it. Is SL CL worth it? Absolutely not, but sometimes the prices come close and it's ridiculous. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they bring back CL, to see what the experience is compared to what it used to be, and if they decide to cut that cost to meet any deductions in experience (I doubt it, but you never know). I want CL back, but I know I want what it was.

Us also, and it's not as if we can change to a lower category at this point. They're sold out of rooms in all the categories on our dates.

This is exactly what happened to us this trip. It was supposed to be a mom-daughter trip until I half heartedly said to DH and DS—“you can come too”.......

My kids now expect to be invited on trips, and while I love them being there I can no longer foot the bill for all their expenses. It's up to everyone to find their own airfare, I'll fly alone, it's not that hard to roll my carry on bag into the ladies room with me.

Currently I'm trying to keep my mom from tagging along on my next trip south. It's not just kids!

Aren’t the CL studios like any other studio at AKV, except they come with CL access? Maybe I don’t understand how DVC works in terms of refunding points, but shouldn’t they be able to refund the difference in points between a CL studio and a normal studio in your view category if CL isn’t available?

Yes, and they do. The problem here is I'm up against the end of my use year and those refunded points will die off come the start of December with no way to extend them unless I cry for an exception.

Seems like a reasonable reason to ask for an exception. You were planning to use them and you couldn’t through no fault of your own.
