Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Ha, well, yes... if I’m honest, I do have another Poly trip planned as well later in the year. :rolleyes1

Totally OT, but my whole internal debate with Poly and CR for this particular trip revolved around my 4 year old and walking (CR) vs monorail (Poly) to MK. I really don’t want to take the stroller for her but I remember when DS was younger that walk, Sept heat, little legs = tired boy before even getting to the park, especially when trying to balance maybe staying out a little past bedtime.

I think I’m still going to go stroller-less, but may just mean I’ll end up carrying some extra weight on the walk. :-)

Funny the small things one debates regarding any given trip/resort.

I say the stroller stays until they are all at least 6 years old. They are just too heavy to carry at the end of a long day.

I agree! Our first disney trip my kids were 5 and 8. My husband was completely against using any kind of stroller. Now, my then 8yo was just diagnosed hypothroid. He was really bad, like couldn't last more then 2 hours at a park. He slept instead of swimming in the afternoon. It was such a fight because I don't care how old he is or what people thought. The kid was sick and felt terrible . I debated rescheduling but he really wanted to go. I finally said screw what my husband days and got the plastic double in the park. It was the best day ever. Threw both kids in and we lasted way longer and my poor baby got the rest he needed. We forget how they tire out, especially in the heat.

My ex and I rented one of those double Disney Parks strollers when my boys were 8 and 4 and I tell you it was so helpful. Especially when you can take your receipt on the same day and use it at multiple parks. My little one didn't like the regular stroller at that point but loved the park stroller.

It's the small things that make life good, yes? How much time and aggravation is saved by that one seemingly simple choice. CR vs Poly, lol. I wax poetic.
For me, it was VERY important, we could have a better price at Poly CL, but with a 4 y/o grandson, and the parents, convenience definitely trumps price for me.

I feel the same way. I have to use a stroller for my DS 3 at this point, and if I don't get a double for DD 6 they'll just fight over who sits in it. :) I'm actually dreading giving up the stroller since it's such a convenient place to store cups, bags, etc.

I also get how the stroller vs. no stroller issue influences a resort choice!

Oh and I am staying in Atlantis this week, kids are resting so I'm playing online. I keep thinking they have to copy disney. We have paper wristbands for the waterpark and our keys pay for everything. A magic band would be perfect. You could wear it and I wouldn't have to lug my room key to the beach or park.

We've been thinking about trying Atlantis- how are you and the family liking it versus a Disney CL trip?

I thought I was going to dread our first no stroller trip for this reason. I joked that maybe we'd bring a stroller just for our crap. Turns out, being free to move without a stroller more than made up for losing storage. It was liberating. I gave ours up at 5. Their legs may be little but they have youth on their side! They have so much more stamina and energy than we do. They can go way longer. So there was never any issues about her tiring out before us! We were dragging on the way out of the park, she was still raring to go.

Awesome!! Glad to have inspired a CR fall trip! It's tough to give up the Poly but my thinking was similar to yours- something a little different for a short weekend is exciting. And it just means that you'll have an excuse to schedule another Poly trip. (That's how it works, right? :D)

I agree :thumbsup2

I was really surprised at the lack of options for the fall discounts, also. I couldn't find a discount for the CR CL room we booked for Columbus Day weekend/MNSSHP, and there's absolutely nothing at the Poly (or really anywhere else at this point!) discounted the week after Thanksgiving. There was a small discount for a CR non-CL lake view room in the main tower in October, but I find CL so much more convenient for breakfast, etc. when traveling with little ones and the TPV is half the appeal- so I went for the CL room anyway. Hopefully you can grab a discount for your December trip!!! :)

I booked our Oct trip earlier this year with a TA exclusive discount and while I wanted Poly GV CL, that wasn't even offered so I had to go with Poly LV CL if I wanted CL. It's more than I wanted to spend, but I really wanted to try Poly CL. I've been checking almost daily to see if GV CL was available under the current discount, but to no avail. My Poly LV CL is only $300 less than GV CL at rack rate. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to get a discount, but that just shows how expensive LV is over GV :(.

Thanks about the discount for December. I agree about CL with little ones. I haven't booked anything for December yet, but I'm leaning toward CR CL just for the convenience. If we do end up going, it will only be for a few nights for the Christmas party, so being so close to MK will be nice.....and having CL will make it even better/more convenient :goodvibes.

We've looked into Atlantis a few times, but have yet to go...lol. Hope you're having a great time :).

That's very good to hear!! I've made the same joke that we'll keep renting a stroller (we love Kingdom Strollers!) even when our kids are teenagers. :) . I guess I underestimate the energy of young kids in the parks since I know how wiped out I am at the end of the day!

Everyone does. Because if you ask them, most kids would opt to get in a stroller, no matter the age. I mean, heck, at the end of the day, if you gave ME a choice of riding in a stroller, I'd probably take one.
But take away the option, most kids don't even think about it, or complain. At least that's been my experience. Out of sight, out of mind. If you know what I mean.

Lucky!! My kids refuse to give up theirs!!! DD had no stroller last year, and kept complaining how bad her legs hurt. So my DH ended up having to carry her around a lot or she was fighting with DS for turns in his stroller!! We ended up having to go out and get another one! Although I HATE dealing with them, the one thing I did notice is how they are only cranky without them, and how much more energy they have the following day! So we will be dealing with them at least another year!

See, there's the difference. You still had one around. So no "out of sight, out of mind". Only works, at least I think it does, when no one in the family is still in a stroller.

Can anyone confirm/deny that you can still "add on" CL at the WL for $100? I'm contemplating a room there for $300 & $400 for CL sounds pretty good. Disney math at its best!
