Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

We've been thinking about trying Atlantis- how are you and the family liking it versus a Disney CL trip?
Having a great time. My youngest is in the kids club now and my 14yo is getting ready for the tween club, it's basically a gaming lounge. We definitely miss club level. I couldn't justify the price difference. This place is huge. We haven't seen a good part of it. The ocean is beautiful. We did a dolphin excursion today. If your family likes water parks they will love it. Tons of pools, slides, etc. Good food too. Heading out to take my son down and then out for adult beverages with my husband. Oh, there's a casino too. I would be happy to answer any questions and I can post pics if nobody minds.

sounds like so much fun!!

Checked in at AKL around 4:30 today. We drove over from POR after staying there after our travel day for one night last night. This morning we took a boat to Disney Springs from POR. We renewed our APs at the information center and then went to our 11:00 reservation for the Void. It was awesome! If you are a Star Wars fan, you will love the Void!

We changed our lunch plans and ate at Earl of Sandwich and Ghiradelli instead of Homecomin’. We shopped for a bit and took the boat back to POR to get our car and drive to AKL. Upon arrival, we were met outside by a greeter who took us up to the lounge and brought me a Jungle Juice mimosa, my DH a Tusker beer and DD jungle juice.
We lucked out and got the same room DD and I had on our June trip. (non-connecting, with queen beds on Zebra Trail)
All in all I’d say my DD had a great 16th birthday today!
At the lounge tonight she was given a special dessert treat and was served jungle juice in a champagne flute.
I can’t say enough about the CL staff here, they have all been so helpful and hospitable in the few hours we’ve been here!
:)

It's kind of depressing to see such low discounts sometimes. The discount in December is only 10% and I know I should't say "only" because I should be happy for any discount and to find availability at all the second weekend of December, but it's kind of depressing to see such a high total for just a few days :(.

Thanks about my niece. My sister and I are taking her in October for the Halloween party and when I was talking to her about our Oct trip, she informed me she wants to go to the Christmas party too...lol. She's been once, but it was 3 years ago in the summer (she was 3 1/2), so I know she'd love December. Not sure if December will work out, but I'm working on it as I know she'd love the Christmas party as well as seeing Disney all decorated for the holidays. I hope you are able to get down sometime around/during Christmas as it really is a fun time to go :goodvibes.

I too am so excited about any discounts but 10% isn’t great when what I have gotten in the past. That is about what I got for this summer.

That is so sweet. I hope it all works out with your niece.

We began our journey to Disney. :yay:Our kids were beyond excited. We love the car ride almost as much as getting to the place. We were decorating magic bands to the very end. My daughter was doing touch ups on the magic bands in the car. We can’t wait to check into the AKL.

I will report back.

Happy birthday to your DD. I am so excited - we check into the AKL tomorrow for the first time.
Thanks.

You people still on vacation (especially those in the Bahamas!) are killing me. School started here on Monday!

I feel your pain. Our school system began August 1st. I also changed grades. After teaching 22 years in a middle school, I decided I needed a fresh start. I am now teaching kindergarten. :cutie: I’m loving it, but I am exhausted.o_O

My Disney trip May 31-June 9 is my light at the end of the tunnel. I couldn’t imagine a year without Disney.

Magic Bands shipped today!!

i'm Doing my Happy Dance!!
:cool1::banana:party::banana::cool1:

That means your trip is getting close!! :jumping1:

Sounds wonderful, glad you're having a great time! I don't know about anyone else, but I'd love to see some pics ;).

My DH's niece in Indianapolis started school 7/31 ...way too early...it's still summer!!! :faint:

I want to be on a dolphin excursion and then have adult beverages!:chat:

I'm with you.....sounds like a great way to spend some time ::yes::.

Sounds like you're having a great time and enjoying CL. Hope the rest of your trip is great :goodvibes.

I too am so excited about any discounts but 10% isn’t great when what I have gotten in the past. That is about what I got for this summer.

Seems like CR CL always gets the lower end of the discounts, at least anytime I've priced it. Any savings is a plus, but I'm with you....10% isn't really all that great compared to what discounts have been in the past :(.

That is so sweet. I hope it all works out with your niece.

Thanks :goodvibes

How exciting!!! Safe travels. Hope you have a great time at AKL. Looking forward to hearing all about your stay :).

Going from middle school to kindergarten is quite a change, but I'm sure fun at times as well! Hope you have a great school year and the little kiddos don't wear you out too much...lol. A Disney trip at the end of the year is definitely something to look forward to....enjoy the planning :goodvibes.

If it makes you feel better, I felt the same in June when everyone was in Disney and we still had school. We ended 6/26 this year, last yr was the 28th :scared:
Blech! I think I'd rather have our schedule, get out in mid May and go back in early August. Though I'm not sure exactly why. I think I like our weather here in June more than the weather in August
Growing up we did the Labor Day through Early June schedule. But we didn't have a Fall Break and had a much shorter Christmas Break.

I usually do my vacation with the kids in mid to late August since my kids get out of school late June and don't have to go back till after Labor Day...

I pay a good amount for camp fees but it's better for us since there are no camps after the 2nd week in August. Plus my kids can't complain they are bored because they have most of the summer ahead of them if we vacationed it July.

We leave for Florida tonight will be in Disney by Monday. When we return they have two weeks till school starts which will be packed with school shopping, doctors appointments and finishing up Summer Assignments. No time to be bored lol

We feel the same way. NYC schools go to the very end of June. But now that some are in college - they end mid May but since all of them aren’t off - we can’t go to Disney in May - which I would love to go then.

I live in TN, like Angi. My next trip is in just 7 weeks with my grandchildren when their fall break starts! Looking forward to it. They have no idea we are going. Staying at the Beach Club Club Level. My daughter in law has arranged a photo shoot in the Magic Kingdom for Monday, October 1. She just told me she would like my husband and I to be in some of the pictures with the children and for us to have some taken of just the 2 of us. I am very excited about this.

Yeah, I guess I shouldn’t complain about August school. We’re <60 days for our fall break as well!

we just changed our split stay BWI/GF CL to all GF SL CL. Disney finally had all five nights with a passholder discount so we took it. I'll miss staying at BWI but it will be so nice to unpack and not have to think about repacking to move hotels. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

23 days and counting!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Sounds like our trips will cross paths again. Maybe. Our Fall Break trip starts on 10/5, till 10/12. We'll be at OKW though. Traveling with friends and that's where they are staying and they've asked that we stay together. They offered to stay wherever we want but I know they need 1 bedroom so that means options are limited. It's just DH and I so we can make do anywhere. Besides, we go all the time, they don't. We can get our picks in on all our other trips. We'll do their pick this time. Heck, we are getting in 3 of our picks later this month when we go down for Labor Day. Best of all, we check in to BWI CL on Sunday morning, so you know what that means?!, Omelettes! By the way, did you see where Redgie was doing some cooking in the Pizza Window last week? I've got to find out the details there. Sounds like he had a blast

DGD is on Fall Break that week but she's not coming with us. She'll go visit her other Grandparents instead.
