Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Thanks! I'll definitely have a report when we get back. I'm excited to try something new, but it's always tough to break away from old favorites. :)

Looking forward to your report. I agree about trying something new. We do like trying different resorts, but it is sometimes hard to leave our favorites. Hope you have a great trip and enjoy the CR :goodvibes.

The last I knew the concierge staff (not housekeeping or turn down) had to refuse a tip. So no worries. Does anyone know if this has changed?
I tipped multiple CMs throughout the week at CL. No one refused and they seemed comfortable accepting. I don't think it's necessary but there were several people who were very attentive.

Last time I was at GF I tried to tip and was informed that if they accept a tip and do not turn it in, it is grounds for termination. I believe if they do take it, it is supposed to go towards a communal pot and they are all treated to something.

I know there have been some sporadic reports of pre-stay phone calls (the WL seems to come to mind most recently), but having stayed at various Club Levels for many years and never receiving a call, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a call from the CL staff at the Stone Harbor Club at the Beach Club verifying our arrival time, welcoming us home, and asking if there was anything we needed prior to our check-in this coming Saturday. Something as simple as this adds a nice touch to our stay and even though there was nothing we needed or requested, it was very nice that they took the time to call and ask.

Yes, correct. The CM that staff the lounge and desks at the CL floors (again, stressing this is NOT regarding Bell Services or Housekeeping) are in a position that is not supplemented by tips. So if they do accept them they are not allowed to keep them individually. Any tips are to be pooled for all CM. If caught it is against the rules and grounds for termination. Who knows how much oversight there is though. Maybe they've learned very little and now keep them because they realize the chance of getting caught is slim? Honestly no clue. But they haven't had a recategorization of their jobs.

They can accept non-monetary gifts. We like to bring Moon Pies (they were invented and are still made in our home town)

Hi I have a question so my sons were recently tested for food allergies and they were both diagnosed with Nut allergies and my oldest son has seafood/shellfish allergies. I called and had Disney Dining note this on all my ADRs. Do I need to call DSS and have it noted for our CL privileges.

Thanks for any assistance to this.

Yes, definitely!! My son has severe peanut allergies and we have called or emailed DSS prior to each stay! They are wonderful and are very accommodating with allergies! Enjoy!

I would definitely call them as well, it can’t hurt. If anything, maybe they can do something special for your boys! Good Luck!

We stayed CR Atrium CL in May. We really enjoyed it. The CM’s are very kind and helpful. The lounge seemed to be a bit busy in the morning (as I think most are), but that is the only time we noticed it as such. We were there over Mother’s Day and they left a “special” treat in our room for me and had special Mothers Day desserts in the lounge. Food and drink were always plentiful and I did not notice a time where dishes were empty. We had a few room issues over the 8 nights we were there, but all were dealt with quickly. We had a standard room, so we watched the fireworks from the lounge balconies at night. LOVE the walking path to MK. Hope you enjoy your stay! This is one of my fave resorts!

Thanks so much!! This is great to hear. The views from the lounge and the walking path to MK look hard to beat. :)

Just booked a quick weekend with DD (almost 7) to visit MNSSHP for the first time October 5-7

we will be there same time, oct 2-6. You'll love it. My first time atrium club was just in June when I took my son for a long weekend.... when we got home I spent the whole month stalking the website to upgrade our oct room!!

I have a soft spot in my travel heart for CR. My parents took us to Disney probably 3 times as a kid - we always stayed in a pop-up camper at Ft. Wilderness... but I have vague memories of being in awe of CR, the monorail, and the whole aura of the place as we'd pass by.

Later in approx the middle schools years we stayed one night there. All I remember is the arcade. :-)

Anyways....staying there as an adult - with my own kids - is a sentimental thrill. There are some things about CR that aren't exactly my favorite - the pools aren't as younger kid friendly, the high-tempo jazz music gets on my nerves after awhile, the elevators can be slow - but that view from the Atrium Club windows overlooking the MK and Seven Seas Lagoon gets me every-single-time.

Atrium Club itself doesn't have as abundant a spread as many other CLs, but what they do offer has always been tasty, nicely prepared, and fitting of my expectations.

I have always had really, really good CM experiences at CR - more so than any other CL in our travels. I have often left with a feeling that they just "care" more than some other CLs. Obviously that can come and go in a shift change - but CR gets really high marks from me when it comes to CMs. Like I said, CR isn't my favorite resort - but it's the other things that make me want to go back.

Sorry, way more than you wanted and I'm rambling - I just like talking about CR. These are a year old, but this was from our last visit: CR Atrium Club - Sept 2017

We have usually done CR sometime in the fall for a MNSSHP trip and it's looking like we won't make it there year, which I'm kind of mad about! Hope y'all have a great trip.

Sounds like a resort and CL worth checking out! Great pictures. The not-so-great pools have been the main thing holding me back from staying at the CR before, but it seems like there are a lot of redeeming unique qualities that make it worth a stay- especially for a short trip where we won't have a lot of pool time. I've been somewhat surprised by the unfriendly CL CMs we've encountered during various stays (there have, of course, been wonderful standouts!) and hope our experience at the CR is similar to yours! :)

We stayed off-site when I was a kid but I also remember being really taken by the CR and the monorail running through it. Funny how those memories linger!

Fantastic! Glad a long weekend at the CR is a worthwhile endeavor! This is a last minute splurge trip for DD. :) Maybe we'll see you in the lounge!

The pool has never appealed to us either, which is why I'm considering trying the CR this December for a short weekend trip to take my niece to the Christmas party. Even with the current discount, the nightly rates are pretty steep, but I'm trying to justify them by only being there a few nights mainly for the Christmas party. I'm hoping AP discounts come out soon and include the CR and are available for the dates we're thinking of going, although I'm not getting my hopes up as availability seems to be pretty slim under the current discount :rolleyes1.

Glad a long weekend at the CR is a worthwhile endeavor!

Me too ;)
