That's good to see! When is your arrival date? We are coming close to our 180 mark and I still haven't received anything from them. Thanks!

This was an email I got about our upcoming stay later this month, so much closer than 180 days!

I called the IPO because I had a few questions about food... and asked when e-mails come out. He said he would e-mail AKL for me and try to move them along and very shortly after I got my e-mail. If you don't get a quick response you can call until 6:00 PM eastern at 407-938-4755. Good Luck!

Thanks! So I received an email for Planning requests (safari, reservations, etc.) but no welcome email. I wrote back and requested a copy of that one as well! I definitely look forward to receiving them!!!!!!! lol

Just thought I would share this! I called the AKL IPO today because I had a couple of questions. It bounced to Grand Floridians IPO. I had some questions and he was very helpful. I was asking when I would get my planning e-mail in case I wanted help with ADR's. He said in Theory 200 to 185 days out, I'm at 192. He asked my reservation number and confirmed my e-mail address and said he would shoot AKL CL an e-mail and maybe move it along. Within a half hour I was contacted by the AKL IPO.

Glad GF IPO was able to help out and that AKL IPO got in contact with you quickly .

Totally acceptable to contact them first if you've not heard from them and are getting close to your ADR window.

So I received 3 letters, all the same. There was nothing that stated the turn down service as on the other letter posted.

We checked into the Poly today. I'm wiped, so won't type too much. But we did get the welcome gift. It wasn't in the room at first, but it was there after they came in for turndown, which we didn't have to ask for. We have a perfect room. 1520, which is the patio I hoped for. Apps tonight were chicken quesadillas and some sort of egg roll. The oasis pool is wonderful. I think I prefer it to the lava pool. I'll try to post more tomorrow. And if anyone has questions, fire away!

If they send the letter at 185 to 190 days out, then that's probably why I didn't get one. I booked at 180, so I must've missed that round. In any event, we are going in just under 3 months, and I plan to send them a contact letter with my request for bunk beds and area I'm interested in. ( I have noted the bunk bed request with central reservations as well).
I was thinking I should contact them closer to arrival with these requests, however. Do you think 3 weeks before would be the appropriate time?

This is just a guess, but turn down at AKL CL probably isn't advertised as it's by request only now. Not sure why that little perk is no longer automatic, but it seems like big changes are taking place all over. I just read another thread about GF CL where someone posted evening cordials have been eliminated from SL. They are currently still in RPC, but apparently have been taken away from SL:

You can send them requests at any time, so 3 weeks prior to good .

The person I spoke to in the IPO office yesterday said if you are not DVC at AKL you still get automatic turn down service. If you are DVC you have to request it. But, he said if I ask once at check in, it should happen the whole time?? I'll report back in November.

And, they still list only cereals, breads, and whole and cutup fruit for breakfast. I had to mention I heard they added protein and he said yest they have eggs and a cold cut platter but nothing hot.

Anyone stayed CR CL recently? Reading about cutbacks other places and have my first CL stay in August. Will be the first trip for 2 of my 3 boys. What have breakfast and evening offerings been?

Please let us know if there are drinks out at dessert service. My husband will be sorely disappointed if there are no cordials.

Please do report back after your trip as it has been reported that CL guests (non DVC) have had to request turn down. I have also seen posts by dansdad stating that turn down is no longer included in the AKL CL summary of services.

There were cordials and the same wines from the appetizer hour. I know they had amaretto and two others. I'll check tonight and report back. The wines were merlot, a Chardonnay, and a white Zinfandel.

How about cordials in the morning mmm for my coffee

Did not see any this morning. I figured the white zin was considered cool and retro. I stopped by the lounge on our way back from Epcot. It was about 4:15, so the snacks weren't out, but they did have beverages. Someone else was collecting a beer and glass of wine so I asked for, and very nicely received, a glass of the merlot.

Wrote up a trip report and left it at work!!! Grrrr. Bottom line - we are very happy we were able to do poly CL last week. It was 'worth it' for the convenience alone. We have two kids (7 and 3) and grandparents (68). We are not park commandos. Room was amazing. Service was great (although at times inconsistent). More on Monday!! I can't wait to start planning our next trip. Kicking myself for not booking a bounce back. I just didn't have my ducks in a row and too many variables at this point.
