Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I understand they put food away, clean up, etc. in between services, but when you don't have a room to sit in it's so nice to have a lounge where you can sit and relax. On our last trip, we were able to sit and relax in the RPC lounge while we waited for our room to be ready. It was nice to get a cold drink and have a place to wind down.

We really like the new, larger lounge at the BC, but I prefer the "always open" ones at the GF, Poly, and AKL (and WL, theoretically, but I haven't had the chance to stay there yet).

I agree! :)

We love the CMs in the BWI - Anita and Lorenzo are the best. Always make you feel so special. We got Lorenzo to sing for our last video from July 2015.

We agree about the open lounges - it makes a huge difference. Last Feb we were staying at the BC CL and our ME wasn't coming until 1pm. Our parents are older and wanted to sit in the CL lounge until we left since we had checked out and my dad wanted to take a nap. They wouldn't let us stay between breakfast and snacks. We didn't want any food, just to sit - they made us leave. It left a bad feeling with us. It would be nice if it was the same at all of the CL lounges.

Wait, the lounge closes during the day?!?! There aren't snacks always out? If do, I'm changing from BC CL. I expected to be able to walk in anytime during normal hours and get a cookie or ask for a beer. I understand the overnight closure but not a closure during the day! Can you recall when it was closed?

Which resorts do t have CL lounge closures?

Thanks for your input on BWI CL. I have seen Anita and Lorenzo mentioned by others, so they must be awesome CMs :goodvibes.

I'm sorry BC CL wasn't accessible on your last day. I agree, it would be nice if all the lounges stayed open as it's sometimes nice to have a place to sit and relax, even during non food service times :).

Thanks. The BC lounge is so big we could have sat in the back while they cleaned - but I understand that CMs were just following the rules set by management.

That really sums up how we feel about the lounges as well. I agree - that's what the lounge should be for. The BC lounge is lovely but wish it was open all the time. When we first went to the Poly CL years ago we loved that we could stay there all the time - one CM said you could sleep here if you want and then started to laugh. :)

This is what I remember.

The BC, YC and BWI lounges close 3 times. I think they close between
10:30ish-11:00am - Breakfast ends at 10:30am
4:00pm-5:00pm - Snacks end at 4pm
7:00pm-8:00pm - Appetizers end at 7pm
then closes at 10pm for the night. Desserts end at 10pm. So no access to seating.

The WL lounge closes about the same times as above but the seating is outside so you can still sit - just no access to food. I hear AK lounge is the same as the WL lounge.

The Poly CL, CR CL and GF SL CL never closes.

They did 'close' for cleaning between food services while we were there. They have a velvet rope setup that they pull across the opening.

When we stayed about 6 months ago, it was never closed. You could go in and get a drink or sit. When did it change?

We've stayed CL at all resorts except YC and I remember the same. Two things that really impressed me about WL and BWI. In both cases, when the lounge is closed, there is somewhere to sit. At WL, it used to be a huge area overlooking the lake and the lobby, but it sounds like that is changing. At BWI, it's that small seating area in the hall outside the lounge. But at both BWI and WL, the CMs have been so friendly, offered to get anything we needed during the lounge closures, and sounded like they really meant it. They brought cookies, milk, juice boxes, etc to our youngest not only upon request but when they saw him looking in. CMs at both have happily brought out wine and beer, soda, etc.

And at BWI, I don't remember ever being kicked out of the lounge for the 4-5pm if we were already sitting there. I've seen it closed if we approached during those times (with corresponding offers to get something for us.) But nobody has asked us to leave the room during the switch over from afternoon snacks to evening appetizers.

The vibe at BC CL, however, is far different from our experience at BWI and at WL. Particularly disappointing to me, because I so love BC otherwise.

That is exactly our feeling as well. We were never kicked out of the BWI. Once I went to get my DD a ginger ale since she was sick and the door was closed. The CM, Anita, asked what I wanted and 2 minutes later she was at our door with a few of them. Then the next day she asked our DD how she was feeling and if she wanted some more ginger ale. The CMs at the BWI are lovely. Same at the WL - we were sitting eating and a CM came over to us to say that she was locking up and if we wanted anything before she did. The CMs at the BC are completely different. Not one stood out with us - they also didn't seem to smile at all. But I do love the BC.

I am sorry to hear about the WL CL lounge. What are they changing?

Thanks for this info. Definitely cancelling the CL reservation I have at BC. This is unacceptable.

CR is open all the time, too.

This is good to know :).

Reading reports like this about BWI CL makes me want to try it! We had the same experience at WL CL as far as CMs. They were all very friendly and constantly told us to let them know if we needed anything. They often got our boys snacks, water/juice, etc during non food service times. It's nice to hear that another CL has the same friendly CMs :goodvibes.

We've never stayed BC CL, but the CMs not being very personable is a comment I read quite often. Not sure why, but I see more negative than positive reviews about it :(.

There is also a snack service from 12-3pm, so the lounge is open then. It's not closed from 11am to 4pm. But if you happen to arrive when they are closing up to clean it's annoying.

I've read that the CMs at the BC weren't nice and friendly, but I will say that during our stay there in March we found all of the CMs up on the CL level to be very friendly and helpful. Of course, YMMV.

Sorry, I guess my post was confusing - the hours I posted were the hours the lounge was closed. Yes the snacks are usually from 11-4pm at the YC and BC.

Same for us - when we were at the CR CL it didn't close.

I guess you were never there in between services? They have to clean sometime. They had someone sweeping up all the crumbs from the floor and then a guy came around with a buffer. I went around the rope, got a drink and sat down, but it wasn't comfortable to be there when they were actively cleaning.

This is a great summary and exactly what we've experienced as well. We LOVE BC CL -- it has been one of our favorites for many years, and with the new lounge and refurbed rooms, it only got better. However, we really, really don't like how they close the lounge doors for those few times. It's not that we want to sit in the lounge, but it's nice to have access to the refrigerator, cups, forks/spoons, coffee, water....at all times. When staying there, we're constantly trying to remember if we grabbed extra drinks for our room for times when the lounge is closed. Also simple things like if we have desserts saved in our room but forgot spoons/forks -- we can't just zip to the lounge for them so we end up trying to remember to grab some extra cutlery too. I do appreciate how they like to keep the lounge clean -- I think they vacuum, etc., when they close those few times, but maybe just take 15 minutes to clean rather than close for an hour at a time, and I do feel all CL's should keep the lounge doors open after 10pm.

We've only stayed at CR CL once, but I do remember the rope once in between serving times, and a CM told us they had a "very messy" table area to clean up but we were welcome to grab a drink. So it didn't feel "closed" like the BC does, probably because at CR it's all open and the rope is a lot less intimidating.
