Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Can someone tell me if YC CL lounge closes between services like the BC does? I have CL rooms booked at both BC and YC and I'm trying to decide which to go with. Any big differences between the two? We've never stayed at either.

As far as I know, the two are very similar. They both close between service times, and they offer the same food items.

I'm so excited! We had had a split stay booked and finally, finally, a lagoon view club level opened up at Poly for all of the trip. Woohoo. This is my ydd 5th birthday and my mothers 60th. She hasn't been to Disney in 30+ years. I have a feeling it's going to be pixie dust magical

What fun! We did DS fifth birthday at Poly CL last summer, it was a great way to celebrate. It's obnoxiously expensive but we did one of the birthday room packages from Disney Floral & Gifts. He still talks about it and plays with several of the little toys nearly a year later.

Make sure to get the birthday pins for both DD and your mother! Hope you have a great time.

The one problem with standard view near the club lounge is that your balcony will then look out over the main entrance/parking lot area. If you get a room further from the lounge, then you can get a view of the walkway/gardens between the YC and the convention center which was nice and quiet last time we were YC CL. To be fair, there was also a little roof that we were looking out on as well, but the greenery portion of the view really helped. There are also four standard view rooms that are not on the main entrance/parking lot/convention center side. One of them (#5163) has a great view but I think it is the only YC room without a balcony. The other three have a NE view (towards Epcot and SAB), but I think there is a roof below, and I think there are only partial views of SAB. I have requested one of these three rooms for our upcoming CL trip starting this Friday, so we will hopefully get to see if we like them. If we do end up getting our request, I will let you know how it works out.

Yep, it's basically no view at all... usually we would close the curtains and stack suitcases there because we knew there was nothing to look at. So in a way it felt like a room that didn't even have a balcony. Those 3 rooms on the side sound great for standard!! Let us know how it turns out! :)

do you know if the 3 rooms you mention ( I assume they are 5195, 5197, and 5199 based on touring plans site) have the daybeds? I was thinking of requesting one of these rooms for our stay, but really wanted a daybed. OTOH, it might be worth not having the daybed to have the possibly "better" view.

Those are the three rooms I am referring to, but I don't know if they have daybeds. If I get my request when I arrive in two days, I'll let you know.

Great, thanks! I'm leaning towards requesting them, as I am thinking a better view and a private balcony would be a better choice than a worse view or shared balcony and daybed. Now I know I will get a shared balcony room overlooking the entrance without a daybed :D. Just my luck!!

How did check-in go? We did online check-in, and did receive a text message that the room was ready before arriving at the resort. There was no curbside greeter, but the Captain actually brought us up to the lounge.
How is the condition of the room?
We are in a suite in the fourth floor. The room is extremely clean and shows minimal to no signs of wear and tear at all. We have a nice view of illuminations, and an impeccable view of SiTS
Is the refurbished/expanded lounge nice? The lounge is very nice. Clean, bright, comfortable. We've had no trouble getting a table at any time. Tables are bussed promptly, food is ample and continuously replenished. There has been absolutely no staff guarding of food or alcohol, on the contrary, they seem to always want to offer more.
Texting service for FP+ is outstanding.

Thanks.
You're Welcome. Hope you have a great visit.

I can't seem to work out which resorts SL and RPC are, please put me out of my misery!
RPC makes me smile as that's what I call my house (it's named Rice Pudding Cottage as back in the 1800's it was a rice pudding shop!)

Anyway I digress... Just wanted to say thank you for all of your help and advice on the Beach Club CL. I can't wait!

That's because everybody wants to use abbreviations for everything. It's gotten way out of hand ( In my opinion ). It doesn't take that much extra time to type out the first name, or a stand out word in the name.

what is the email address for IPO AKL club level? The one on the first pages keeps saying undeliverable.
Thanks for your help.

So excited that we are booked for our first ever Deluxe stay, and it will be Club Level at Beach Club :cool1: We are staying December 2-6 (for my birthday). We are booked in a standard room. My daughter would love a full balcony. Does anyone know a specific room number that I could request to try to get a room with a full balcony? Any other tips for a first timer? We've been to Disney more times than I can count, but usually stay Value or Moderates.

We have (had) a reservation in August for Grand Floridian main building theme park view club level. This is our first club level stay. I saw information about the 30% discount on the 15th (it was released on the 14th) and called to apply the discount. The representative said there were no discounts available for our room. She did not know if there were only a limited number and they had all been taken or if the room type was excluded from the discount. Was anyone else able to get the summer discount for a GF main building theme park view club level room this summer? I am asking because I have the Disney Visa card and am hoping they will release some additional summer discounts I can still apply to that room category.

Anyway, I was able to switch my room to Sugar Loaf (outer building club level) standard view and saved almost $4000 because of the switch in view, building, and the 30% discount. I would not mind bumping back up to the main building room if I can get the 30% discount applied if the cost difference is around $1500.

For anyone who has stayed in both, is the theme park view in the main building worth the extra money? I have stayed in Sago Cay theme park view before and it was definitely cool to see the fireworks every evening.

Thanks for any information.

We were just at BC CL and it was really nice there. I hope you like it. As for the room requests, rather than giving them a room number, I suggest you just let them know what you want, as in "full balcony." If you ask for a specific room, chances are that it will be occupied and when they pick another one for you they won't really know what it is you are looking for. They were great about giving us what we requested. The hallways at the BC are quite long, so you might want to ask to be closer to the lounge, but realize that if you are very close it could be a bit louder, so perhaps you would prefer not to be that close. ;)

I was able to play with my dates a little keeping my arrival and departure the same but doing a split stay and found a main building standard view club level for $1800 more. I did not book it. Wasnt sure it would be worth the increase just to be in the main building.

Thoughts?

We absolutely LOVED the Main building, we were in a deluxe king and had a theme park view room. I was disappointed the music for Wishes wasn't piped in at Gasparillas to go with the fireworks, but we still tried to watch them most night before bed. However I've never stayed in SL, so I can't much help. I do think that for $4000 I would certainly give SL a try! But the $1800 range would be tougher, I loved the main building.

Hmmm...tough dilemma. I have not stayed GF main building TPV, only main building standard view (I posted some pics several pages back), so I have absolutely no basis for the opinion I'm about to provide!! Full disclosure! For me, personally, I don't see the appeal of a those TPV rooms in the main building primarily due to the cost, the view corridor between two buildings, no Wishes music, can't see the electrical pageant (someone correct me if I'm wrong here), etc. It just doesn't feel "worth it" for me. I have a different opinion of TPV rooms at say, the Poly or Contemporary, where I would gladly pay up big time for the view in almost any circumstance - there's just more going on with the "view" there than at GF main building. I'm sure there are some great attributes about main building TPV rooms that I'm not getting having not experienced it for myself, but that's just my gut reaction.

On your second post/question about main building vs SL.... I have not stayed in SL so my opinion here isn't totally valid either. I too debated SL vs. RPC (main building) but I know my personality well enough that if I were in SL, I'd always be looking over at the main building wanting to be in there! Go big or go home, right? We definitely enjoyed our stay and I was glad we tried RPC, there are lots of things to like! Having said that, next time we go back to GF I will more than likely try SL. RPC was the first time I kind of regretted spending so much on a Disney trip, but again, I'm totally glad we did it and wouldn't want anyone to not book there based on that comment.

Awesome! Thank you :) I don't think I care as much about the location so I will just put full balcony on my request and hope for the best. That really is the most important to me. Of course, it will be a fabulous trip no matter where our room is or what size our balcony is :)
