Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

We're just back from a CL trip to both the BC and GF (RPC) with a few days on the Dream in between. We are long time CL people (first CL was a YC/GF split in the late 1990s) so we did notice the cutbacks over the years. We had a great time last week. The BC has really stepped up its offerings, especially at breakfast. I was impressed by the food and the larger lounge. The CMs were all friendly and helpful. The GF does seem to have less food in the lounge, and fewer options, but it was still nice up there. Great ambiance, too. We didn't have any real issues, nor did we have any pixie-dust sprinkled on us (like the time AKL sent up an entire cake and big birthday basket for my DD's birthday). Fortunately we didn't arrive at busy times, so having to go over to the check-in desk wasn't that much of an issue for us since there really wasn't a line. Our room requests were all granted, and both rooms were pretty, clean, and nicely decorated. We don't go to WDW as often as we did in the past, and it was very nice to be back. :)

ETA: I used the texting service at both to add or switch around our FP+, cancel or make ADRs, etc. It was a very nice addition!

What time does Yacht Club lounge close? Our flight lands at MCO at 8:30, would we make it in time for a quick late night snack and check in, or will we be stuck doing regular check in at the desk?

Thanks.

The lounge closes at 10, and the CL CMs pack up for the night. You may be able to grab a soda from the fridge if the lounge is closed, but that depends on whether or not they lock the lounge doors. I remember the old CL at the Beach Club would be locked after 10. At the GF (Sugar Loaf) and the CR, you could grab soda out of the fridge after 10, but there were no snacks left out at that time.

Arriving at MCO at 8:30 you have maybe a 50/50 chance of just squeaking by before the desk closes.

We booked our first club room!! The 30% off deal made it $10 difference between Poly studio villa and GF Club so we opted for the club. We will be heading there August 14th-20th! I've already booked the ADRs. Do I send those reservations on to vacation planning so they could be on our itinerary?

I also may have to switch some reservations since I was originally thinking we'd be at the Poly. Our last morning, for example, we had plans to do Ohana for breakfast. Perhaps it would make more sense to do 1900 Park Fare. We had Crystal Palace booked already and maybe I should switch that to something at the GF. (some thinking to do)

Congrats on the switch! I'm biased but I think CL anywhere beats a Villa any day! Total upgrade!! No need to send them your ADRs, it's all linked in their system.

FWIW, and you probably already know this, but Poly is really a pleasant walk from GF, especially in the morning, so you can always just walk over for your ADR and enjoy a morning stroll your last day. Totally subjective but I like Ohana breakfast better than 1900 Park Fare. 1900 is great but I hate how it's in a room with no windows (I know, this is weird).

Also in the FWIW category (probably nothing), we tend to not book too many breakfast ADRs since CL breakfast is plenty for us and it's so convenient. For context, on our recent GF CL trip (5 nights) we did two breakfast pre-opening ADRs (Garden Grill and Tusker House) and frankly both of those were booked for being in the park early purposes. Hope you have a great trip, you'll love it.

Thanks for letting us know about your experiences at both BC CL and RPC, and I'm glad you had a great trip! I'm so glad to hear that BC has maintained it's "step up" since the new lounge renovation. We noticed last April that they stepped up the food offerings, especially at breakfast, so I'd be disappointed to hear things were cut back in that regard. We're staying at RPC next week(!) and I'm so anxious to see how it compares! Can't wait to have the texting service again -- we missed it dearly at Poly last trip. Thanks for letting us know it's still alive!

Yeah- its the only breakfast I think I have booked. I like to get some Mickey waffles. DS also has a number of food allergies so that's usually the easiest way for him to get something safe to eat. (dairy/egg allergies are a challenge for breakfast) I think we can always cancel reservations and they can be harder closer to the time. (though maybe staying club level would make that easier).

Just booked 2 YC CL rooms for our 4th of July/my son's 8th birthday trip! (We have 6 kids, hence the 2 rooms.) We stayed last 4th of July week too. Can't wait to be back at SAB!
July 3-8th

My husband and I are trying RPC at GF (king deluxe rm) for the 1st time for our anniversary July 21-24. We've stayed in Sugarloaf 2x, but never the main building.

Hurry up July!

Thanks for your review. Glad you had a great time at both resorts :goodvibes.

I agree, it is a nice, relaxing walk from the GF to the Poly ::yes::.

We also like Ohana more than 1900 PF. We found 1900 PF to be ok for breakfast, but Ohana is one of our favorites :).

Sounds like a great trip for July :thumbsup2.

RPC is amazing! Hope you have a great anniversary trip :wizard:.

I'm so excited! We had had a split stay booked and finally, finally, a lagoon view club level opened up at Poly for all of the trip. Woohoo. This is my ydd 5th birthday and my mothers 60th. She hasn't been to Disney in 30+ years. I have a feeling it's going to be pixie dust magical

Just booked a YC CL room for 6/5 to 6/10 after debating about it for the last 10 months. We loved our Boardwalk CL stay last year and on one of our evening walks past YC and SAB, my husband suggested we stay at Yacht Club on our next stay. I think it will be the perfect start of summer vacation for my 10 year old son (and husband!).

If you'd like to be added to our guest list just let me know your travel dates. :) Congrats!!!!

We recently booked a standard room at YC CL for June 17-16. Anyone have any suggestions for a room request? Its our first CL stay!

One of my favorite room types in Disney! We love the 1st floor patio rooms. Every time we get back to our room, whether it's afternoon or evening, the first thing my girls do is walk outside onto the sand! Either DH or I will sit on the patio, sometimes both of us with a drink from the lounge. Enjoy your special trip!

Congrats on being able to get LV CL for your whole trip! Hope you have a great time celebrating your DD's and DM's birthdays :wizard:.

Congrats on booking your first CL stay! I can't help with room requests, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :goodvibes.

Congrats on your first CL stay! :) Having stayed YC CL standard several times I typically request to be near the lounge. But the down side to that is it is a bit more noisy at times. But I think the convenience of being close to the food, drinks, castmember desks, and elevator outweigh the risk of noise. Plus I travel with a loud fan to drowned out hallway sounds. :)

That's what I hope to be doing this summer! :D

The one problem with standard view near the club lounge is that your balcony will then look out over the main entrance/parking lot area. If you get a room further from the lounge, then you can get a view of the walkway/gardens between the YC and the convention center which was nice and quiet last time we were YC CL. To be fair, there was also a little roof that we were looking out on as well, but the greenery portion of the view really helped. There are also four standard view rooms that are not on the main entrance/parking lot/convention center side. One of them (#5163) has a great view but I think it is the only YC room without a balcony. The other three have a NE view (towards Epcot and SAB), but I think there is a roof below, and I think there are only partial views of SAB. I have requested one of these three rooms for our upcoming CL trip starting this Friday, so we will hopefully get to see if we like them. If we do end up getting our request, I will let you know how it works out.

Can someone tell me if YC CL lounge closes between services like the BC does? I have CL rooms booked at both BC and YC and I'm trying to decide which to go with. Any big differences between the two? We've never stayed at either.
