Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Just recently booked our second BC CL stay in May, Our first stay was a long weekend, however we are staying twice as long this time. :cheer2: Nice to hear all the recent news and the changes since we were there in 2014. We were last there right when they were doing the room refurbishments. I think they were waiting in the hall for us to checkout so they could start.

I do have to say we had a wonderful experience with the IPO staff regarding our initial contact. We are really looking forward to get back to the pool.

I did see the following answer a page or two back (yes, I am a lurker :flower1: ):

When we stayed at SL last December they had small bottles of water. They were not out you had to ask a CM for them.

And my DH asked me that same thing the other night. Can anyone confirm if we can still get the small bottles of water at the BC CL?

Sure! No children's table, so we got DS his dinner from Mara every night and brought it up to eat. The chefs were always asking if he'd had his pizza yet whenever we came through the lounge lol.

During our four nights, we had: pork ribs, seafood stew, crab stew, a cheese pasta, a few spicy stews I couldn't eat (I am awful with hot foods), a shredded meat/bread app...those are what I remember. Two per night. Ample amounts for everyone to have as many as they wanted and the chefs would be asking us to eat more so they didn't have to waste any at the end of the service.

Thanks so much for your detailed response!! I really appreciate it!!! Probably wouldn't eat most of what you posted, but I'll make it work!!! Still really looking forward to staying there!!!!!

I'm just worried if they refurbish the AKL CL in May, how long it will take, and what happens to the lounge, will it be a nice replacement wherever it is.

You know, I am an extremely unadventurous eater, and I vowed to try everything they offered at least once in the spirit of immersing myself in the African theme. I honestly ate everything they put out, and went for multiple trips more than once ;)!

Thanks for the follow up - that's a bit disheartening! Based on your post, I plan to contact the club level manager (again, once I figure out how!) to reiterate my concerns, especially - as I have mentioned - the IPO staff kept insisting "it's been a big hit!" Doesn't sound like it's the complete success that they think it is!

Hi, if you get a email address for the AKL club manager could you post it as I will also contact. Travelling with a 3 and 8 year old and would like to have at least one child friendly option. Thanks

I do not know how to email the Club manager directly. However the CM who called me said if you email guest relations they forward the emails to the appropriate person. She said she was forwarding my email to the Club manager. She agreed with me that it was odd that there wasn't a kid option and encouraged me and others to speak up. Unless someone knows how to email the Club manager directly I would just say email Disney and they will forward your concern.

Oh I hope I can do that too. I'm one of those people that if I hadn't had it before, I won't try it! But I will definitely take your advice and at least give things a try!!!!! It doesn't hurt!! By the way, was the chef out every night making the appetizers? Are the appetizers in addition to the main dishes that are out out? Thanks!!!

Your post made me laugh. When we were at RPC during the holidays, my husband assigned code names to the "guards". We dreaded nights when "Sergeant by the Book" was working -- she poured barely an inch of wine and refused to let him take 3 glasses to our room (for him, me and my sister who were getting ready for dinner) -- 2 glasses per person apparently. Alternatively, when "Lieutenant Lots of Fun" was working, it was a generous "pour" and a tray to carry the glasses to the room.

That's too funny.....love the code names :rotfl::rotfl:

Not sure if I can keep it a secret the family knows we are staying at AOA and BC but I upgraded to Garden View Club level at BC ! kids will be 17 and 20 and my 17 yr old eats a lot lol!! and we are on the dining plan!! off to start reading yes all the reservations are made 3 nights and then 5 nights thanks for all the tips!

How exciting! Good luck keeping it a secret. I wouldn't be able to do it as I'd be too excited and probably let it slip .

Do you think it's worth being club level that week? Are you returning this year? We are planning a trip 7/1-7/10 and are on the fence. Last year we stayed at gf in sugar loaf and weren't super impressed with the club lounge and staff. We stayed poly club level over Labor Day and did enjoy it. I'm just worried the lounge will be a zoo in July!

I think CL would be great over 4th of July :thumbsup2. We've never stayed CL at the Poly but I agree with you about GF SL. I'm glad we tried it, but I wasn't overly impressed, either. I've heard great things about Poly CL and can't wait to try it later this year. Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

It's funny how these CL's are different. At Poly I've had CM's push more alcohol on me than I could ever want, "want a to go cup".... "How about one for the road".... "Need any for your room".... "how about another beer sir..." Even during the day when it's not out. Here at RPC I feel like if I asked for a beer during the day I'd get some dirty looks.

It would be nice if all the CLs followed the same policy as things should be a little more consistent :rolleyes1.

Right, I know! Poly CL is indeed very accommodating and makes us feel relaxed and as if we can freely have a drink whenever we want. Now I'm hoping we'll have a good experience at RPC next month because DH is already on the fence about staying there.

I hope you enjoy RPC and have a good experience :).

Ha! Well don't let him read this. I am very glad we tried GF and we've had a great time, but for my money Poly CL is the clear winner among the monorail resorts. I have definitely missed it. I'll elaborate more when we get back. That being said I'd stay GF again, there are certainly things here I've enjoyed more than Poly, some not so much. But it wouldn't be my first choice.

Can't wait to read your review when you get back ;).

We decided on 2 nights in a lagoon view at GF and 7 nights TPV CL at Poly. My oldest loved the new kids area last summer and I feel like I can't beat the TPV from there. Fingers crossed it will be great! I've been on the phone for about an hour and a half so far trying to get it changed :earseek:

Sounds like a great trip! Have fun planning :goodvibes.

How often do they change up the offerings in the lounge? We'll be poly cl in April and I'd love an idea of what might be offered in the evenings. Like what are they offering now and will those offerings most likely be similar to Aprils? Any ideas? Thanks!

I can't answer about the offerings, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Thanks for this information :flower3:.

We are here now at GF in Sugarloaf! When we arrived on ME, there was a greeter in the lobby directing those checking in to head to the main desk. I told him we were club level, and he looked us up on his iPad and escorted us right away. But we have noticed not everyone got this treatment.

For the 5:00 food offerings we have beef empanadas, Brie with raspberry jam in a puff pastry crust, plus the usual cheese and veggies. Plus a taboullea (I know I've spelled that terribly) with chicken. Mini corn dogs and pb&j plus goldfish and gummy bears for the kids. For sweets, A goat cheese panacotta with strawberry, strawberry soup, brownies, rice crispie treats and cupcakes.

Very satisfied so far!

Thanks for checking in. Glad you're having a good time so far :goodvibes.

Congrats on another BC CL stay! Enjoy the planning :).

I think the lounge will be relocated to the Presidential suite. Hopefully someone else will be able to verify that or correct me if I'm wrong ;).

I'm not a very adventurous eater either, but I am excited to try AKL CL someday. Thanks for all of your input :).

Typically they do not put them in the rooms or out in the Lounges, but you can ask for them, and they will provide how ever many bottles you need.
When we stayed in a Suite at the Poly, that was the only time our fridge was stocked with bottles of water and cokes, etc.

There are no "main dishes". It's just single-serving appetizers, two different kinds each night. Apart from that, there are some veggies (green beans, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers), apple slices, cheeses, and crackers, plus hummus and olive pastes.

We are Poly CL 2 weeks out...have not heard a word from Disney yet.....

In my experience, IPO can be inconsistent. Usually, I get an email right away, but I still haven't heard from the Poly. I'll email them one of these days. I don't really need them to do anything, I just want to give them my room request.

It makes me really sad to read that guests get "rationed" on their alcohol or whatever else.
During our recent stay t the CR Tower CL the CM couldn't give us enough... They constantly told us to just ask for whatever they didn't have out... Encouraged us to take things back to the room and in the mornings handed us a few bottles of waters "for the ride" to the parks. Our girls and us were catered to head to toe!
We have NEVER been treated so well while at Disney. I cannot wait to go back in September and hope that we will have some of the same CM's still there! My girls still talk about them.

Very glad to hear this since we will be there in July!

Our first CL stay will be this summer at GF Sugarloaf. So excited! Has anyone had any experience getting family portraits done by Disney Photography. Saw it as an option in the email from IPO. Thoughts?

Can anyone tell me how the CL lounge will work with a child that technically needs a high chair? We are staying CR atrium CL in May and will have our 18month old with us. He will not really sit on a lap and I don't think I ever noticed anything of the high chair variety in any photos. We've only stayed in BWI CL and our daughter at the time could sit in the regular chairs just fine.

He does love what we call "walking around food" as in he'll eat almost anything if you let him walk around while eating, but I also don't want to have to pack my dyson DustBuster and chase him with it so as to not be destroying the lounge for the CM's and other guests.

I asked my husband if I should buy one of those collapsible, portable seats for him but husband doesn't think it's necessary.

We stayed CL at Sugar Loaf - one word of advice for this building is to make sure you request a room far from the lounge. It was very, very noisy. We were initially given a first floor room, and there was no way we could have stayed in it. We could hear the dishes and glasses clanking well inside the room in the afternoon. The lounge starts offering breakfast at 7, so unless your entire party rises very early - be sure to ask to be on a higher floor.

Otherwise our stay there was very nice. The resort is beautiful! We loved watching the fireworks from the dock in the evenings.

They have high chairs in the lounge. At least at AKL they do.

Thank you, I will! I can send my room request to IPO?
