Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I am new to this forum. I apologize, if this was already posted. Can someone tell me the email address for the IPO for the RPC? I finalized my reservations today and I want to get the ball rolling for dining reservation requests.

See, you're destined to stay at Poly! I'm sorry I'm sure you've said, but what type of room view do you have booked?
GV CL, however now I've got that AKL on the radar. Thank my kids for that one lol

Hi Club Level fans!! I was wondering if anyone had any info on the refurb going on at AKL? I've read that it's soft goods for the Club rooms and the DVC rooms (basically floors 5 and 6), and a potential move of the lounge to the presidential suite. Does anyone have any other info (like for example, is it true?) :) TIA!

Only the (relatively few) DVC Club rooms are up on the 6th floor. Most of the CL rooms (the non-DVC ones) are on the fourth.

The soft goods refurb is for the Jambo DVC rooms (floors 5 and 6) and the Kilimanjaro Club Lounge which is also on 6. Supposedly, work has already begun on the rooms. When they get to the lounge, the Kilimanjaro Club will be moved to the presidential suite. When I got the letter in the mail regarding this I contacted IPO to see if they had more information, but they did not know when the lounge was scheduled to be worked on, although the rumors suggest early May (which is when we will be there).

AKL is on my radar for someday too! But I just am having a hard time breaking away from the monorail and Epcot resorts. You could always switch your Poly GV over to Poly LV and sit out on your patio every morning and night with this view::cloud9:

The move to the Presidential Suite is just temporary while they update the lounge...correct? Does anyone know what their plan for the lounge updates will be?

Everything! Breakfast! Fresh fruit, croissants, hot quinoa! The staff is great. Love to be able to pop in and have a sangria or Chardonnay and some snacks. Take a few cans of soda or beer to your room for later. If you have kids, it's so nice to have milk, juice, fruit and treats. The hot offerings and crudités, my mom and I can make a meal out of....and then desserts and cordials...yum! You seriously don't have to leave the resort if staying CL! I'm a huge fan!

I can't wait to try AKL CL some day :).

I'm excited to try Poly CL again. It's been several years. Most of this trip will be spent at Epcot for Flower and Garden or at the MK. I'm hoping the Oasis pool will be open by then. But if not, at least the Volcano pool is easy to find. This is key for my mom, whose directional sense is not great, to put it mildly.

I think the Poly is a great place to stay for easy access to both MK and Epcot! I'm sure you will have a great time :goodvibes.

Gwynne answered your question, but I just wanted to say welcome to the CL thread :welcome:.

It's so hard to choose, isn't it?? We love AKL and CL looks great (and is on our list to try), but if I were you, I'd stick with Poly CL, especially since construction should be done by the time your trip rolls around ;).

I hope you have a great time, even if the lounge is relocated for your trip :wizard:.

As far as I know it is just temporary. Not sure if it will only be moved while the lounge itself is being worked on or if they are moving the lounge while all of the 6th floor is worked on. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the latter. I am curious to see how the lounge works in the suite though. If they allow the Kilimanjaro Club guests to use the balcony, that would be pretty awesome (the normal lounge location really misses not having any view of the savannahs IMO).

I hope you have a great time, even if the lounge is relocated for your trip :wizard:.

Thank you. I know a lot of people when the news came out about the refurb panicked and switched resorts (although a lot where DVC staying in Jambo, so I can kind of understand), but we just don't see the big deal and if it is noticeable when we are there we'll just chalk it up to a new experience. A day at AKL, even with a refurb going on, is still better than a day at work.

The view is exactly what I love about Poly. The monorail is not my friend LOL. AKL is so pretty, did I mention it's almost $2000 cheaper. AHHHHHHHHH

You know how I am ;) Resort changer 4EVER. My DS15 was texting me AKL pics while I was a work yesterday. Enabler!!! :)

Hi all! So we are staying kilamanjaro Club at AKL right now. I was just checking with concierge to make sure we could use the lounge until midnight on our checkout day, and was told that it used to be that way but is no longer . They said if I want to use the lounge after 11 AM on our checkout day that I shouldn't leave. That once we leave we will not be allowed back up Thoughts?

I don't like the sound of that at all. I feel like that happened to someone else recently was it at BWI CL?? We were just at GF in December and we were encouraged to come relax and have offerings until we had to get onto the Magical Express (which was after 6pm)

I really, really don't like that one bit. Honestly, if they feel that midnight is too long, then say evening, but 11 am is ridiculous. Another example of how customer service is going downhill IMHO.

I was told pretty much the same thing a few years ago at BWI. I wish they'd make a firm policy. It makes planning a bit difficult.
I think most of the CL's are understanding about a late afternoon flight.
I don't think there is a firm, written policy on this. They probably need one.

I just double checked and was definitively told "no, club access ends at 11am when you check out" I asked if it has always been this way and he said YES
Not at all what I understood it would be when I booked.
If the no access after checkout was a firm policy I would be totally fine with that and would have planned accordingly. Everything I read leading up to this indicated exactly the opposite, that using the lounge for the whole day was encouraged .. Hmmmmmm where to have dinner tomor?? I'm lucky to have such a first world problem

I'm sorry you are having to sort this out while you are there. As I mentioned, please let them know if you have an issue due to late flights.

Blah blah blah, I don't believe that CM for one second. I've never been thrown out of a lounge at 11:00 AM, or even witnessed anyone being asked to leave. The lounge CMs don't know who is checking out on which day. How would they know??? Telepathy??? :teleport:

Now I do believe they could deactivate Magic Bands for accessing the elevator and/or locked CL door to the lounge. I could see that happening. So people who leave in the morning wouldn't be able to get back to the lounge that evening for apps. It's never happened to me personally because once I pack up and leave I don't go back later in the day. But I know it's always been a popular perk for folks flying home late. I would just straight out tell the CM at the desk the day before checkout that you have a late flight the next day and need access to the lounge. If they say no I would ask to speak to a manager.
