Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Wow, sounds fabulous! 19 nights club lounge access! How did they happen to give you lounge access the 13 nights you were in the value room?
That is cool that Neil Patrick Harris stayed there and your hubby visited with him in the lounge in the morning.
What a nice long trip.

I don't know exactly how it was done but I tested to see if it worked the day after checking into the value and it did so I went up, spoke to a cm up there and said it was still working, they looked at our reservation and said we had been given access for the whole rest of our stay there and to enjoy it :)

Recently back from an akl club level stay just before Christmas. Wow.

Some highlights
Mango tarts are amazing! My fav thing to eat there. And the spicy Durban chicken with sweet corn thing.
Seeing Neil Patrick Harris every day for breakfast was pretty amazing. Hubby chatted with him
CM's Brian and Andrea (andrea has since moved to Disney springs). Wow just amazing people! Really Made our trip special
We were 6 nights club and then 13 nights in a value (DVC) we were given lounge access for the extra 13 nights! Originally planned to do value first but ended up there over thanksgiving so swapped it round to spend more time at the resort during the busy time. Glad we did now.
We took a Christmas sized box of chocolates over for the CM's and they were gone in less than an hour haha will take more next time!

Only downer was we were in a pool view room and I really didn't care for it, we do try to stay away from pool views when we can as we find it noisy. We could have moved but it was only 6 nights so we chose not to. The aircon or extractor fans (not sure which) were really loud. We kept the doors shut most of the time to keep the noise out. But tbh we were in the lounge a lot so it didn't make a huge difference.

Cannot wait to stay there again!

How awesome that they gave you CL access for the other 13 nights! We've had 2 great stays at AKL and just love the resort. With all of the great reviews I keep reading, I'm looking forward to trying CL later this year. Glad you had a great trip :wizard:.

That is amazing! Talk about pixie dust!!

YMMV, and this can change at any time. These are just our most recent experiences with the CL lounges. All CL's will have filtered water that can be used to fill your own water bottles.

Just stayed at CR CL over NYE and they had a large Dasani water bottles for us in our fridge every day. I stayed at Poly CL for a few days over the summer and they didn't have anything like that.

I think that's a great idea. It would be a great idea for all CL resorts to start doing this.

We had them as well at BC last Feb/March. I think they put two in every other day.

Has anyone tried (and found success) with having their concierge book dining or tour reservations for AFTER their checkout date? I'm staying at Poly club level for only 2 nights before moving to Shades of Green for a week. I tried asking our planning office about this and they replied with "possibly" and "maybe." It sounded like something they normally don't do, but exceptions could be made. I know I can totally make these ADR's myself, but if we have a concierge, we might as well use it.

I've only done this when we have had 2 back-to-back reservations, and both were CL. (So I just asked the first IPO CM to make all of our ADRs for me). Since just part of your trip is CL, they might do it for you, but it's not something that is "technically" something they are suppose to do.

Why were at BWI mid-November and had water bottles there. We just had to ask for them.

So, I am planning our annual trip to Disney and can't decide where to stay. Last two stays were at Polynesian Garden view club level split with Beach Club club level and the year before was Deluxe RPC at Grand Floridian and before then was Yacht Club club level. We would really like to try all the Deluxe resorts and were thinking Boardwalk Club Level. Will we be happy or disappointed? Any opinions?
Would really love to try Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom but they cannot accommodate our family size unless we book two rooms and that's a little pricey? Any thoughts?

CR CL 1L Dasani bottle in room everyday for free. 12 oz bottles are available by request.

The club level (food) offerings are not wowing me.

You can ask IPO to make ADRs for your entire trip, but as mmmears posted, it's not something they are supposed to do.

I think it's worth trying since you've experienced several others. We've never stayed BWI CL so I can't comment from experience, but I am always reading positive things about it.

I am DYING to get back to the Poly GV CL after the new pool is done. I've got that on my must do list for this summer or next fall. :) We had two great stays at GF Sugar Loaf in 2015, I will definitely be going back there again soon. BWI CL is hit and miss for me, I would do it again if I booked the deluxe room with boardwalk view like we had last year. That was awesome! Otherwise it's not high on my list. Once YC CL is done with their refurb I'll definitely be heading back there. It's in my top 3 of all resorts on property.

Up next for me is AKL CL in March. Just my son and I so the size of the room is no problem. I absolutely love watching the animals. I can't wait! :D

Poly CL was great. The "quiet" pool started construction the week after we left. Can't wait to see how that turns out. Can I ask if it was the Club Level that disappointed you at BWI or the overall resort? Also, what is being refurbished at the YC? Is it the lounge? We had a really nice stay there but thought the lounge was too small and wished they would make it bigger. Would definitely go back there. When will the refurb be done there? AKL CL looks great. I've heard great things about CL there and wish we fit in the rooms there :(

The one and two bedrooms villas at AKL are great! Then you'd have plenty of space and the nice animal view. :)

I love the desk CMs at BWI but the lounge CMs in my opinion are lacking. The lounge itself is small and rarely has seating. The food service area is very small and results in crowding. The way you have to access the club level in general is a bit of a pain, and not very convenient to anything. I did really love our deluxe room with BW view though. I would stay there again. But it's not in the top 5.

Wow I am shocked about lounge CMs at the BWI. Anita and Lorenzo are about the nicest CMs ever in Disney - we have one other favorite and that is Regina at the YC CL. Lorenzo and Anita would talk with us everyday. We had 5 kids with us and the kids loved them as well. They made us feel like family. Two of our DDs sing and Lorenzo would start singing with them. The BWI CL is on the top of the list just for them. We do also get the Deluxe room with the Boardwalk view - it is the greatest room.

I'm sure they are all very nice people, but that doesn't necessarily make them a good fit for this particular job. When I visit a club lounge I look for prompt, courteous service with a smile. I also look for food and beverage areas to be clean and well stocked. CMs standing around chit chatting while the coffee pot is empty and food is spilled all over the floor bugs me. Are they there to work or just shoot the breeze???

Also I want to feel equal to every other guest, but often times CMs are deep in conversation with their favorite families, ignoring anything and everything else going on around them. I have noticed this at other CLs too, but for some reason it always rubs me the wrong way at the BWI.

It's good to try several different resorts so you can find your match, each resort CL has a different vibe for sure. For me, my life is chaos at home, I have had an incredibly stressful last couple of years. I just want a relaxing, quiet place to grab a cup of coffee or a snack. I'm not looking to be entertained.

I get what you are saying. The CMs in the lounge can make a difference in your experience. There was a CM at Poly ,(little gray haired guy with some pep) can't remember his name but he was great! Always in a good mood and made sure you had whatever you needed. I really appreciated that.

Here is another example of how CMs can make or break a visit.... We arrived last trip to Beach Club club level and never got a welcome packet or welcome drink and we walked in as they were taking away evening apps and when I asked one CM if I could grab a roll for my youngest she said no that they had already been put away for the evening. They hadn't even finished putting everything away yet!! I was really surprised at that!! Lets just say my first impression of the lounge went down at that point and I so wanted to love it. We love the resort!! I was really disappointed.

I think all CL serve alcohol (beer, wines and cordials). We are at AKL and they have certain times allotted for each category, however we have been able to get a couple of beers to take to our room. They insist on opening for you though and you have to ask for beer even during "those allotted" times...they are not readily available. Milk, juice and soda are available in the self serve fridge.

What was your favorite thing about AKL CL? Our first time is this November. Are there any substantial snacks in the afternoons or just cookies? Thank you!
