Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Can you add us to the list;
Bryant- Carter family staying AKL club from 20th Oct- 1st Nov.
Very excited. First time club, 4th time AKL ( but hubby and kids first)
Thanks

I'm so torn for the same reason! My husband is treating me to a 35th birthday weekend to Disney Jan 8-11. My friend is flying from Toronto to join me. He wants me to stay at the Four Seasons to be pampered as this is my first trip away from my kids! I'm leaning towards AKL-CL which I love and have stayed multiple times. I also feel like Disney has transportation, FP, and I love the food and wine at CL which will all add up at the F.S. I have an AP so park time is ok, but my friend will have to purchase tickets. If we were going to just enjoy the resort, hands down FS but AKL is the best of both worlds? Idk?.. Please help! I want both :(

Oh boy, that's race weekend. We stayed at AKL one year when we couldn't get anything closer to Epcot (my relatives run the races every year). On that Saturday morning I think we sat on the bus over an hour from AKL to MK. Then Sunday morning the road was closed completely. If I were you I'd focus more on resort time during the day, enjoy yourself!! Then hit the parks in the evening when the race traffic is over.

I have to agree with Erika that it is not a good weekend to be at the AKL. We will be at WL CL on race weekend and I know from experience, having stayed at a WDW resort during four marathon weekends that AKL/AKV will be most impacted of any resorts by the races. We were at AK one year and saw the marathoners running through the park around 11am.

We are planning to take the boat from WL to MK in order to avoid race traffic. The Four Seasons is located in the MK resort area so traffic for the races shouldn't be too bad for those guests.

HI - Thinking of staying CL GF sugar loaf for a stay late Feb. Does anyone have a menu of the evening offerings?

Thank you so much! I truly value your opinion and expertise. Maybe now I'm leaning towards the four seasons and a day at MK. Ahhh we'll see!

I sweated it out for a few months and I finally changed our resort from WL CL to BC CL for Feb 26 to Mar 7. I got nervous about the WL refurb plus the fact that we were paying rack rate for a deluxe room-over $10,000- for just me and DD (19) for our annual girl's trip. I actually saved $2000 switching to BC CL!! Looking forward to being "home" again.

Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Can't believe we are so close to our first proper club level stay! A week tomorrow we fly from the uk and after 1 night in okw, we check into akv for 6 nights in a DVC studio!

You are going to love CL! We've never stayed CL at AKL, but the resort is awesome as we've had 2 great stays there. CL also gets great reviews, so I'm sure you'll have a great time :goodvibes.

We almost always stay CL and what works best for us is to eat breakfast at the CL lounge most mornings. We love Boma so on our AK day we book an early breakfast there and then take the bus to the AK park but for the rest of the mornings we relax in the lounge and read the morning paper while we have breakfast. I tend to be an early riser so the lounge is pretty empty around 7:00 am. Then we have our main meal of the day be our lunch meal and come back to the hotel to have apps. around 5:00 before we head out for the night time park happenings.

This year I plan on trying a few nights having our main meal be at dinner time but have wine and apps. first at the hotel lounge and then head out to dinner but skip apps. for dinner or have an app. for my entre instead. We will be at the GF RPC from Feb.23 thru the 26 so I have one night that we are eating dinner at the Poly at the Luau for the 8:15 show. I plan on just a snack or quick service for lunch at the MK and then coming back to the hotel to freshen up and have wine and apps. in the lounge before walking over to the luau for the show and dinner. The next night we will be eating at the Wave so we will do roughly the same thing then take the monorail over to dinner .

Long story short we only book one meal a day when we are staying CL and it works well for us. Hope this wasn't to long:)

I am glad it was long:) one meal a day sounds reasonable. I will prb try to do that. I have never done the luau. I should look into that. My kids would prb Enjoy it. They love O'hana and its already pretty booked up for dinner.

We do almost the exact same thing as Disneytam does. However, being that GF CL offers some yummy-sounding afternoon things too (scones! etc.), we plan to be around the lounge a few times for those treats too. Then on those nights I'll book a couple later dinner ADR's. Otherwise, we usually have our "big" meal ADR during lunch time so that we can be at the lounge during dinner time.

I have lots of favorites! :) What type of restaurants are you looking for? Do you have kids?

That is a good idea. My family is usually really hungry by 11am. I don't want to miss tea time at 3. I love afternoon tea!

My son is all grown up now so it's just hubby and I but when my son was younger we always came back to the hotel for some pool time and those scones and a little nap before heading back out to the parks in the evenings. Depending on your children's ages that might work for you as well. unless your really big eaters one ADR a day is probably enough.
