Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Is Valet Parking free to WL CL guests? We got an email from the IPO that told us "Upon arrival at our resort, please proceed to the Valet Desk. You will then be met by one of our Curbside Cast Members who will escort you directly to the Club Concierge desk for check-in."

We are first time WL and first time CL anywhere.

No, valet parking is not free for CL guests. At least it wasn't at GF. When we went through the gate to GF, they called ahead and we were met curbside by someone to unload our luggage and also a woman who would take us to the CL concierge lounge to do the checkin. My H self-parked the car across the street and met us in the lobby.

I keep hearing a lot of people were "not impressed" with YC club level. Which I get is a totally subjective thing. But it makes me a little concerned. I'm wondering if it's worth it to pay the cost to upgrade just to avoid the hassle of changing rooms, especially since we may not get a ton of benefit out of the lounge between time in the parks and ADRs (I can cut some but not all). Which honestly to me isn't a big deal, but my husband seems to find it an imposition (which is funny because I handle all the packing, arranging of reservations and actual dealing with check-in lol). Maybe I should just leave things as they are, with one night at AKL CL and the rest YC GV? I feel ridiculous agonizing about this, but I don't have anything to compare it to :/

I've always loved YC CL. I know a lot of people are annoyed with the "beverage cart" and the fact you can't pour for yourself anymore. But to me this really doesn't make any difference. The refurb is going to solve the issue with peeling paint and age showing in the rooms. I'm sure once they're done they will be amazing just like the new BC rooms. :D

So you can choose a FP from another park? And you don't have to use up your first 3 when requesting the 4th? Sorry I am a fp dummie.
I didn't use my 3 fastpasses but did get a Fantasmic with an ELP and Wishes left. I still saw the Wishes on MDE, but didn't go back to MK, so I'm not sure if it would have worked.

I'm not really concerned with the beverage cart, although I can see how it would be annoying/intimidating. And from what we saw last year the rooms aren't in terrible shape (although granted we weren't staying club level). I'm not even sure why I'm hesitating, other than the jump in price, although honestly we've just resigned ourselves to the fact that Disney trips are pricey and it is what it is.

We are 13 days and counting down! :hourglass We finally made a decision on the Anniversary Dinner. It's going to be Shula's! The convenience of walking there was what made the difference! I'm getting more excited each day.

Ooooooo enjoy! :D I still have our receipt from shula's , we ordered the "market price" lobster! Was the most expensive dinner I ever ate! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm safe then since neither of us like lobster! Our most expensive was last year at Queen's Room at V&A. I'm sure the 3 bottles of wine had nothing to do with it. :teeth: It would have been less expensive to do the wine pairing!

It just made sense to stay this side. We're planning a cobbler lunch at Territory Lounge instead of dinner! Really excited about the trip.

We will be arriving to WL around 8:30 pm. Is the club level staff there to help with check in? Last time we arrived later than that and had to check in at front desk. It certainly was not as smooth.

Thanks.

I think they are there until 10pm. I know all of the lounge CMs are, so I assume the ones that handle check-in/ guest arrival would be too.

As Dispro1 posted, the CMs are there until 10 pm, so you should be checked in upstairs on CL :).

4 more days 'til we check in to BC and 10 until WL. Can't wait to get there! We finally are having a warm day (high 80's) so we'll be ready for the weather. If any one wants me to check on something let me know. I will try to answer daily unless I fall asleep as soon as we get in the room at night!

Enjoy Shula's for your anniversary. I've never been there so I can't wait to hear all about it.

Is your dog letting you pack yet? I still haven't brought the luggage out yet and I have 8 days left.:-)

We stayed at the YC CL last October for the first time (we normally stay at the BC) and I have to say that we LOVED everything about it. The CM's were great and a few we remembered from our stays over at the BC CL. We had originally booked a GV CL room and upon check-in were upgraded to a pool/water vw room which was in very good condition and had an amazing view. As for the beverage cart, I have to agree with Erika that it didn't bother us as much as we thought it would based on reviews we had read and we were able to get as much as we wanted and never received any "glares". We had such an amazing stay that while there we asked about extending our stay by an extra night keeping our discount and it was granted. To think that we actually contemplated switching resorts because of the negative reviews.... so glad we didn't!!

They both are ignoring it now so I can get started. At least with it being so warm there isn't a lot of decision making to do! You need to get busy packing! I'll report back on Shula's! When DH considered the time it would take to get to WL for Artist Point THEN come back again he was quick to choose Shula's.

We are leaving in 5 days and just pulled out the suitcases today. My poor dog is moping around and giving us sad eyes!

Leaving them is the only downside to a Disney trip. Luckily I have great people to take care of them while I'm gone!

12 Days!

Being able to walk to Shula's is a big plus. Your walk back can be a nice romantic end to your dinner.

I'm the same way when it comes to my pets. I call everyday to check on them.

Our "babies" get excited when we leave. I tell my older one that she's going to "camp" and she gets excited, which gets the younger one going. They love to go for rides so it makes them happy. Helps when the kennel gives them thick bedding, puts down rugs because of Isabel's arthritis. I feel bad for the kennel because Duncan barks his fool head off and comes home with a broken barker. But it is really hard to leave them, the kids always say I love the dogs the best!
