Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I'll do that, thanks! As of right now we're AKL CL one night and then YC GV the next 5. If we went this route we could stay at YC all 6 nights. My husband isn't crazy about doing a split stay but doesn't care about the club level aspect, either. So I need to decide what's going to work out best :)

Has he done CL before?

No it'll be a first for both of us. He just doesn't think it'll be worth it if we're in the parks a lot of the time. We also have lots of ADRs scheduled, so I'd need to cancel at least some of them to offset the price increase.

Well it all depends on what's available when discounts come out. I'm hopeful, but our trip falls over Wine & Dine/Veteran's Day, so we'll see. I was able to get a room discount for that time frame last year though.

CL fits nicely with F&W. You probably won't need many ADRs at all. :)
That's kind of what I was thinking :) We do have a few that are "must-dos" for my kids--Crystal Palace and Akershus breakfast, and we're committed to 1900 dinner with friends. My husband asked for Boma and my daughter and I want to go back to Raglan Road, but that one's not strictly necessary I don't guess. I'll see what happens.

A lot of CL guests find they enjoy a sitdown lunch. That way you can still enjoy the breakfast and evening appetizers in the lounge. We did that quite often when the kids were little. :D

Thanks for these. The AKL/YC split one was very helpful for me (and I loved reading about you guys' SWW and Harambe Nights experiences!); I think we might find AKL to not be a good fit for us. And I'm liking the idea of the split stay less and less the more I think about it, despite how nice AKL looks I'd really prefer not to have to deal with figuring out how to pick up my tickets early and worry about dining credits. Crossing my fingers YC works out for us.

What are the chances the lounge might be showing/willing to show a college football game? We'll be staying CL at AKL the day of the Alabama/LSU game and my husband will flip his lid if he doesn't have anywhere to watch it. I know he could go over to ESPN, but I was hoping he'd be able to watch it closer to "home". Is it something we could ask them to put on?
I have never stayed at AKL, but I wanted to say that my DH asks the CL CMs to turn on football games often...but this has been at BC and GF RPC. DH even asked them to turn on CBS Sunday Morning on our last trip to BC-lol. It sounds like you may end up at YC now anyway, but I just wanted to let you know that it never hurts to ask if they would mind changing the channel...but there have never been any kids watching those TVs when DH asked (they were watching the kids' TV). I don't know what the setup is at AKL.

The setup at AKL is different than some of the other CL's. There is only one TV. It often has cartoons or other children's programs on.
If I wanted to watch a game at AKL, I'd probably check Victoria Falls.

So do you give them a list of what you would like and they give you the first available attraction? Or you ask for something and wait for a response, then repeat until they find availability?
I asked for specific attractions when I texted. One day it was Fantasmic, once Rockin Roller Coaster. I tried for Wishes once, but there weren't any available. I also didn't always use my 3. One night I still had a Wishes, but added a Fantasmic. I think I could have gone back and used the Wishes if I wanted...

I asked at CR to put on the Women's World Cup. I got there early, before apps, so no one was watching anything. They helped me find it, then left the remote with me. Several people joined me watching within the first 10 minutes.

Unless its changed since last September, theres two TV's at AKL CL. One by the couches and one over by the kids stuff. I dont forsee having the game on being an issue but Victoria Falls would be a good backup plan though.

Is Valet Parking free to WL CL guests? We got an email from the IPO that told us "Upon arrival at our resort, please proceed to the Valet Desk. You will then be met by one of our Curbside Cast Members who will escort you directly to the Club Concierge desk for check-in."

We are first time WL and first time CL anywhere.

Yep, this is what we do. Also gets us out of the heat of the day (since we go in summer). Often the evening apps are enough for at least a couple of us for dinner (not really for teenage boys though ;)) and we can just fill in with QS food.

So you can choose a FP from another park? And you don't have to use up your first 3 when requesting the 4th? Sorry I am a fp dummie.

You are correct. There is a larger tv by the couches and then to the left side, there is a smaller tv in the kids area.
