Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

19 days for me too!!!!!!!!! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

I'll wave across Cresent Lake at you when we arrive! :cheer2::banana:

I was just refreshing me memory for Tables in Wonderland! I have a hard time remembering all the stipulations but it appears we are going at the right time to avoid black out dates!

*Beginning August 1st 2014, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey’s, ‘Ohana (Dinner Only), Cinderella’s Royal Table, LeChefs de France, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, and Le Cellier Steakhouse will be subject to the additional blockout weeks of: March 8-April 4, 2015; May 31-June 20, 2015; November 22-28, 2015 and December 20-26, 2015. Blockout dates for Tables in Wonderland are Mother’s Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Tables in Wonderland is valid for one year from date of purchase.

I'm good to go on all my dining except Teppen Edo. We always do that one because it's the boys favorite but it doesn't do TIW.

My favorite thing about TiW is the ability to use it in lounges! I love Territory Lounge at WL! Annual passes and TiW really make Disney more affordable for us.

Does anyone know if there is any sort of ice cream available in the lounges?

I am pretty sure I have never seen it mentioned anywhere so I assume there isn't any... but I thought I would ask :)

I really appreciate this thread! Been actively lurking for a while and have learned a lot! Thank You!

Nope, no ice cream. Closest thing would be yogurt. :)

BC has a lot more families, definitely a lot more kids and teens, and also a lot more people hanging around the resort due to the awesome pool area. I think that's why bottled water never lasted long. They couldn't meet the demand. At BWI you don't see the big lounge crowds.

I love BC (especially SAB) but it is much noisier than GF RPC. I am excited to hear that BWI may have fewer kids/teens since ours won't be with us in December.

I was pretty angry that 'Ohana and Akershus were excluded for our June trip! At least we got to use it for Cali Grill. I'm just surprised they include the early June dates instead of July. The crowds pick up in late June through early August. The other excluded dates make sense to me.

You'll be able to tell a difference I think. No CL on property seems to draw as many as the BC CL. But it definitely makes sense because it's a great way to grab refreshments when you're spending the day at SAB. :D I think you'll really like BWI CL. The only issue I've ever had was a lack of seating during the rush. Not a huge problem for us because we like taking snacks back to our room anyway.

I've noticed a shift in summer crowds the last couple of years. It seems that the growing popularity of Star Wars Weekends has boosted that time period. But I agree it doesn't really make sense to have June 20th as the cut off when the week of July 4th is usually way busier.

I have noticed that it's a lot more crowded in late May/early June than it used to be... I forgot that they haven't always had SWW. I really like having that trip to look forward to right after school gets out, so I hope crowds don't get too much worse that time of year. I wouldn't want to go in July and October....I want to spread it out a bit more. Of course, next year will be a summer of looking at colleges, so I have no idea what will work! I told DD16 we should look at Stetson University not too far from Orlando:flower:

Just booked Poly CL for June 18-26, 2016!!!! Please add us to the list! This will be our first stay at the Poly and we are very excited. We've stayed at GF, BC, WL and BW CL. We have absolutely loved every one of those and are looking forward to the Poly experience!!

Has anyone stayed at Polynesian CL recently and have a menu of the daily offerings? I'd like to know what's being served on each day of the week. I'm gluten-sensitive and they said they'd have gluten-free offerings for me, but I don't want them to go through the trouble on the days we wouldn't be interested in the offerings of that particular evening. I hope that makes sense! lol

I will be there this weekend and can take pictures if you would like

I stayed there twice last year and twice in 2013. The menu was very similar each trip but had some differences. I asked the chef about it in November and he said he likes to change it up at least very 6 months.

They always have lots of cheeses and fruits, often they had meat like chicken skewers or pork. They had sushi as well. There might be a night or two where the hot apps both have gluten, but not every night.

You are going to love the Poly!! We haven't tried CL yet, but are hoping to do so next summer, along with CR CL. I love GF RPC and WL CL equally and I'm curious to see how Poly & CR clubs compare :).

I don't usually request more than one thing, but do you think it would be ok to ask CL to put a note to be close to the lobby? We already asked for a bunk bed room for the kids and I don't want to ask for too much but some of the rooms are a hike from the CL area. We have never stayed CL with the kids before, only by ourselves so I have never felt the need to ask for more.

We just came back and while I don't have a menu I could name a few things they have. Also I'm sure if you call IPO they can let you know the menu for your upcoming stay.
There was bacon wrapped beef, spicy spinach triangles in a puff pastry, a meatball that was in some kind of sauce (def not gluten free) pierogies in a spicy barbecue sauce, chicken wings also in a sauce, hummus with pita, cheese crackers, crudité with ranch, some nights there were corn dog turkey nuggets and PBJ sandwiches for kids. That's all I can think of for the nights we weren't at a park. Hope that helps a bit.

We just returned and I took pictures of each night's offerings! Just let me get things organized and I'll be back!!

Since there is such a wealth of knowledge here I'm asking for suggestions. DH and I have been around the bush about our anniversary dinner so much that the bush is gone and a crater is in its place! We always eat at Artist Point but in my quest to try something new we agreed to pick the restaurant with best desserts!

We've decide most signature restaurants would be great. So...which restaurant has the best desserts in your opinion (and please list it!). DH thinks Artist Point is the best with the cobbler and those otherworldly nutella filled beignets if they are still on the menu.

I think the only one we will NOT consider is Monsieur Paul's based on reviews. Thanks for any help and input!

18 days to make a decision! :hourglass

OK we are back from our glorious Poly CL stay! I posted a little bit here and there during our trip, but now I'll give a more comprehensive review along with some pictures.

First, our room. I booked LV knowing that the 1st floor has been downgraded to this view rather than TPV due to the bungalows. We stayed 1st floor 2 years in a row (pre-bungalow, then post-bungalow) and then last 4th of July we stayed on the 3rd floor. Even though the 3rd floor view was incredible, we missed walking right out onto the beach....my girls are old enough that they could go on the beach themselves whenever we were in our room. It just changes the trip -- we find we look forward to being in our room because it's just so relaxing and everyone is happily doing what they want, i.e., kids outside in the sand, DH and I sitting on the patio with a drink....:cloud9: Much to our surprise, we were given Room 1503 which is the SAME 1st floor room we've had the last 2 times we've stayed 1st floor!

Backing up a bit, our room wasn't ready until 4:30ish (we arrived around 10:00 am), which is fine and understandable but just surprising because normally it's ready much sooner. Backing up even more, I posted this info during our trip, but there is no texting service offered at Poly CL at this time, sadly. In fact, my welcome letter didn't even give a phone number, much less a text number!! I spoke with several CMs/Managers about it (just to inquire) and they all gave me the same answers....that Poly isn't participating in this service right now. So for those of you wondering about the texting service, just go into it knowing that it's still in a testing phase and your resort might or might not be participating at the time of your trip. I do hope it's here to stay at BC CL because our Easter trip was incredible due to that service alone, and I certainly hope the other resorts adopt the service as well.

Also, I had originally done the online/streamlined check-in and was so excited about it, but it was exactly the same check-in as always. We sat at the desk while the CM went over everything and then handed us our papers.

My opinion on the pool gate and pool hopping? I think it has tamed the hopping only a tiny bit because there are some honest families out there who truly did not realize they weren't allowed to pool hop, and those families were turned away on July 4 when there was an actual CM inside one of the gates. This particular CM was an older woman, extremely nice and pleasant, but she didn't have a working Ipad to scan MB's!! She was simply asking people as they entered if they were staying at the Poly and if they said "yes" then she would give them a wristband. I happened to be lounging nearby, so I was listening, of course:). I overheard one family say they were staying at FW -- this was a family of 4 who seemed very nice and well mannered, almost shocked when the CM said there is no pool hopping. So they left.... Then another family who was already inside the gate was asked by the CM and that family replied they were staying at GF! The CM seemed kind of shocked and that family said it's their tradition to swim at Poly on July 4 and stay for the festivities afterward:rolleyes1. I finally approached the CM and thanked her for doing this because the pool gets SO crowded that I often wonder if the guests are staying at Poly. She nodded and said they're trying to come up with a solution. I do NOT think just the gate is a solution because people hold it for other people, open it for a guest having a problem getting in, etc. I had 2 CM's open it for me during our trip! I could've been staying anywhere, they didn't ask. I think the only way to end it is to have a CM standing at every entry point and scanning MB's.

Next, food and pictures from my phone, so I'll be back...again!
