Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

My last stay was September at BWI CL, and I brought home two bottles of the peppermint foot scrub. I even discarded some stuff from my quart baggie so I could (we only do carry-on).
OT but I just wanted to say that I never use the quart baggies limit. I put things all through my carryon in various bags and I have never been stopped. If they do stop you, just throw out what you were going to sacrifice anyway. I do have TSA maybe that is why? They always get me for a water bottle. I usually bring one to drink before I go through security and then I forget. The last time I said, 'can I just drink it now?' and she said, 'you have to get back in line'. It was a small one too.

No baggie here either. They just ask o have large electronics out.

Since they allowed the extra bag during lockdown for hand sanitizer and alcohol spray (as well as not counting items like saline and other medical necessities), I often have way more than one quart bag in my carry on and have never been flagged (knock on wood). I’ve often wondered if that was because I’m TSA Pre or because they just don’t really bother. I haven’t removed my baggie in years. I guess I’m just a stickler for rules and nervous to hold up the line and be that person.

Just reviewing our upcoming trip and I think we have it all set, this will be the big one: we are staying with DVC points, 3 nights at AKL one bedroom club level, followed by 4 nights at GFV one bedroom. We have reservations for Saana, Boma, Steakhouse 71, etc. Also have Keys to the Kingdom, Wild Africa Trek, Up Close with Rhinos. But the big thing is dinner at Victoria & Alberts. My 22 year old son decided to join us, so this should be an awesome trip.

Us too. TSA PreCheck assumes you know the rules and are following them, it’s not so you can just ignore the rules. If you get a real stickler of an agent, not only can they have you discard the excess items and send you back through the line (or even over to the regular one) you can have your status revoked. Same thing returning if you break the rules about the customs limits. Or at least that‘s what the agents at the Nexus application centre stressed with us when we did our interviews. We follow the rules because we don’t want to chance it. Our Nexus (and thus PreCheck) saves us way too much time, there’s no way we would do anything that might give them the opportunity to revoke it.

YC CL - apps and CM tonight were stellar. Heavy hitters were salmon, chicken tacos, quinoa salad, tomato-mozzarella salad, cheeses/roast beef, crudites, and mini hot dogs. Not crowded at all when we were there at 5:15.

Thanks for the great pictures. We are checking into the YC CL on Tuesday for our first ever CL stay and I can't wait.

+1

Your carryon still goes through XRAY. I don't know what, if any, wiggle room you're given.

Regular screening you risk having to throw stuff out, or take it back to your car.

TSA pre also run the risk of losing pre select

It is truly fabulous!
Sure, rub it in 🤣

I also have precheck and follow ALL the rules lol. I still take out my quart baggie with the electronics lol. I'm usually told I don't have to take it out. I got nervous taking liquid antibiotics for my son when he was younger lol. (Ear infection, not contagious).

We had a lovely 2 nights at BWI CL and arrived this evening for 2 nights at CR Tower. The 14th Floor is so exceptional, I can’t even put it into words. It was a splurge, but we can find the value in the price. The size of our room and balcony and the views are incredible.

Dd and I tried it in May. We also loved that balcony! Enjoy!

At MCO headed home - DH and I were at YC CL from 11/4-7. We moved over from a scuba industry convention we were attending the week before, and we wound up getting to WDW at 8:30 am on Friday. They found us a room immediately. We went to Epcot and rode/ate a few things, relaxed, snacked, and went to Homecomin’ for dinner.

I posted images of the Friday apps a few days ago, but those are the only ones I took! Reciting the rest from memory - DH started feeling cruddy on and off Sat morning (though covid negative then, Sunday, and today), so that shifted my attention, and the lounge was insanely busy after Sat morning, absolutely packed to the gills, so really no way to get photos.

Breakfasts: chicken or pork sausage, an egg dish (either seasonal scramble/casserole or frittata -for the former, one involved vegetables and chevre, another was tomato and spinach, for the latter, one was ham and cheese, another was egg white/veggie. Fruits (grapes, pineapple, strawberries/blueberries). Yogurt, granola, hardboiled eggs, oatmeal and accompaniments, one cold meat (ham or roast beef), breads incl bagels, muffins, eng muffins, a pastry, and a hot bread (pancake or cinnamon swirl).

Apps: nice charcuterie selection (one to three cheeses, crackers, one or two meats, crackers, savory breads), veggies and dips, two hot items (recall pot roast and mashed potatoes, pulled pork sliders, baked salmon), one or two salads (thai steak salad, quinoa salad, caesar salad), tuna poke cones one night, and one kids’ item (mini hotdogs, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese bar). Bev cart with 3 red and 3 white wines (incl bubbles).

Desserts: I can’t recall much… one cupcake and one or two other items each night, plus a vegan option

CMs were superb. It was a freaking madhouse, they were run off their feet but communicating constantly eith each other, and nothing was ever empty. They were always kind and as accomodating as possible. I’m trying to figure out how to submit a cast compliment to the whole staff.

Comparison to GF RPC - I’ve done RPC the most since reopening. The offerings there are slightly greater in number and elegance, IMO, but there is a big cost differential as well, and the rooms aren’t as nice. One major winning feature for GF is space, glorious space. So many tables. So spread out. YC lounge definitely got chock full, outside tables included, a few times.

One other thing - DH ate full meals in the lounge when he wasn’t feeling well enough to venture out. I never do this because I am always looking to grab my favorite snack or meal at the parks or a nearby resort, so it was good to see this in practice:). For once, I may have achieved the elusive “worth it” at CL. You will have to carry a lot of small plates, but it is definitely doable.

I have a 2 night stay at CR (CL or just regular tower room, still deciding) in 2 weeks for MVMCP- after that, taking a WDW break until at least Halloween next year, I think - maybe more like Feb 2024 - unless AP sales come back :). That’s the theory, anyways!

Eta - forgot to mention lounge size diffs

Thank you for this post. We are starting our YC CL WV visit December 6th to the 16th and plan on using the CL for breakfast and small dinner. In the past even with club level we did a lot of TS but now that we are older, we are going to use CL for food accept for lunch, Candlelight Procession and Fantasia. I know in the past the CL room with the food items also had a balcony with tables, did you notice that? I know also that I could bring food back to the room if it’s that crowded. Cast members have given us trays to use. Thanks again for the post. Looking forward to this trip. .

We did see (and use!) the tables, 3-4 of them, and use them before Saturday! After that, there was zero seating until Sunday night. It’s still crowded today, but at least you can find a table.

You don’t need cl at CR. Just pop down to Outer Rim or Steakhouse71. Also try to go to bar atCG!

DD and I love TPV in the tower. For the price CL not worth it usually with her being fussy with wine and me on food.

We did do cl my last trip. I got a great rate with Visa discount so the worth factor was there . Also we had a 1st timer and the wow factor was a plus👍

I’m with both of you!! lol No CL that I’ve been to serves Moscato or Sweet Riesling! I do not drink white or red wine, so even though I’ll try some, I always end up drinking beer. It’s so disappointing to me. And you guys know how picky I am with food! I lean towards the kids offerings, but they’re not always served! We have AKL CL coming up soon, and it doesn’t seem like I’m going to be eating much of anything during evening apps. But, even with that being said, I still love CL and can’t help myself!!! I have to do it at least once a year! However, you will never hear my DH say that CL is worth it when it comes to me!! 😂 When I was little, my parents used to take us to a local restaurant that had an amazing buffet… I’d come back with a big plate full of shredded carrots!! That’s all I would eat!! lol As you can see, not much has changed!!! 😏
