Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Me too!!!! And of course I am still second guessing my switch from BWI CL ;) I have my final paper to write and I can't concentrate...but I see WDW as my reward :)

I'm ALWAYS second guessing every single trip! :rotfl: I love all the CLs for different reasons, so it's tough to choose. I know the GF will be great, but as far as the snacks go I think my boys prefer BC CL. I don't like the lounge food to play a role in my decision, but it sure is nice if they can at least eat a good breakfast. Why do teenage boys have to be so picky??? Nic will eat plain croissants or chocolate chip mini muffins, that's about it. Connor is a little better, he'll eat cereal, yogurt, croissants, or muffins. Neither of them will touch fruit or oatmeal. I told Nic last night he better find something to eat in the mornings because I get super annoyed when I have to go buy him breakfast somewhere else.

When I was putting up our Christmas tree last weekend I found our small tree and decorations from last year's stay at the WL CL. I'm planning to bring it again this year to make our room more festive. :santa: One thing I learned from last year is that we are going to open presents at home before the trip. Last year they were disappointed Christmas morning when they didn't have any gifts, even though they had said previously they were fine with Disney gift cards to use. Darn kids are never satisfied! :faint:

It's hard not to second guess your resort choice as there are so many great options, but I know you will have a great time at the Grand! The GF is great any time of year, but it's amazing and so festive at Christmas time :santa:......plus being so close to MK with all of the holiday festivities going on makes it even more enticing :goodvibes.

Good luck with your final paper, I'm sure you'll do great :thumbsup2.

WDW at holiday time is a wonderful reward!

I agree ::yes::.

I hear you with the breakfast, although I promised the girls Mickey Waffles. That we can get as a brunch :) That is the only reason I can't go Christmas (Santa has too much to ship LOL, since I still have believers) well that and I usually work around Christmas time :( I am sure GF will be Grand, I just don't feel the warm and fuzzy yet (except the management of course ;) ) I will decide I will, once I finish at least 10 pages of this paper :) So excited for your Holiday trip Erika!!!!

Thank you, and I am trying

wow. it's taken me a week to get through this thread.

We've just returned from getting married at Luau Beach, whilst staying at SSR, but we had a cheeky night CL at AKL. Very much planning to go back for 2nd anniversary trip in November 2017. 14 nights club level at AKL. It is the best hotel we've stayed at. Didn't take full advantage of all the CL offerings, but it was such a lovely stay, total luxury.

Have other trips elsewhere to plan, but when you do the guest list put us down for 10/28/17 to 11/11/17 :-)

We added a day to our trip-Beach Club CL Feb 26 to Mar 8 2016 celebrating DD's 20th! She is already looking forward to our 2017 trip so she can have her first legal drink at Disney-LOL. DH is happy he does not have to be there for it-he and DS gave up on Disney three years ago and do a boys trip instead. ( Shhhhh.......We have more fun without them!)

I had posted a while back but did not notice us on the guest list.

Sorry I missed you!!!! I wish I could get email notifications when people post to this thread. I only get them shortly after I log in, but then I don't get anymore emails unless someone sends me a PM. It's so annoying.

If anyone else needs to be added please let me know! :D Sending a PM is best because then I get an email notification, or you can post here on the thread and tag me. :D

I think once you get that big paper out of the way you will be able to focus on Disney and the excitement to be back at the Grand will return :goodvibes.

Congratulations on your wedding! Sounds like you have a great 2nd anniversary trip planned :wizard:.

What a great way to celebrate your DD's birthday! Happy planning :).

Our first CL stay at BWI is fast approaching. I usually have all my tips for mousekeeping ready before we arrive and am a little stuck on what to tip for turn-down service. We're pretty tidy and would generally tip $10/morning for the six of us (2 adults, 4 kids) . Any advice on what to tip in the evening would be greatly appreciated. I have absolutely no frame of reference! Thanks in advance!

I want to clean your room!!! :goodvibes I only leave about $5 per day... $3 in the morning and $2 at night. Unless we do something crazy in our room to make a mess.

@TigrLvsPooh I am inching closer to getting you get shirt! My goal is to head to the post office tomorrow! I found the receipt- the envelope is labeled. I'm making serious progress! :)

I've got a question for you guys. Typically if I have a morning flight I let DME handle our luggage, then if we have a late flight we take our own bags with us since our room will already be ready and we like to change clothes right away. This next trip we land at 2:00 PM. So I'm debating which to do... any advice???

Also, has anyone else noticed the IPO staff isn't signing their email responses by name anymore? The last several responses I've gotten hasn't given a name at all. I thought this was interesting.

I got an email back from WL IPO the other day that was signed by Leslie. I wonder if it is resort specific?

That must be it. :thumbsup2

Another weird thing, I got a response at 8:30 PM. I'm not use to hearing back that late.

I just heard back yesterday from the CR IPO after I had a question, and they did not sign any specific name. Since you pointed it out, this is a change from every other time I have corresponded with the IPO at various resorts.

I would probably let DME handle my luggage at 2:00, but that's because the luggage handling is the biggest reason we love DME - to not have to go to baggage claim and schlep our luggage anywhere. We drop it off curbside at PIT or CLE, and don't have to touch it again until we unpack. We did land at 5:30 once, and I hadn't realized it was 4 hrs after you check in, not after you land (even after we landed would have been on the late side for us. We had just always been lucky before on how quickly our bags showed up I guess). it did suck then to get our bags after 10:00. I like to unpack and get settled in, so I stayed up and did that while the kids and DH slept, and I got very little sleep that first night because I had also stupidly made a pre-RD ADR the next AM. I would pack a change of clothes and whatever else you would plan on needing that first afternoon for everyone in the carry on and plan on getting the bags later.

The question is, do we want to wear our MVMCP clothes all day? Because we won't see our luggage before we leave for the party night.

I'm not entirely sure how new this is - I had never heard of it either until a few weeks ago via Tikiman's facebook page.
I heard about it months ago from someone else on the DIS:) I've been to Disney about 30 times or so (we stopped counting years ago) over the past ten years, and there is always something new to learn on these boards!!

FYI, we just checked in to BWI CL earlier today, so if there's anything anyone wants to know, let me know:) We are new to BWI, but so far, I like it! And they did have tea sandwiches this afternoon:)
