I just hope they haven't outsourced IPO to the call center castmembers.
I just called the GF IPO to ask a question about booking Skippers Canteen and the background certainly sounded like I had called into a call center with the sound of other CM in the background taking on phones. I could be totally wrong on this but in all the other times over the years that I have spoken to IPO's I don't remember hearing all the chatter in the background of other operators. It was at least three other voices carrying on one way conversations. This CM also didn't seem to know much of anything, she at first told me that there were no openings available but that they would put me on a wait list and when I asked if they were even booking yet she had to put me on hold and then said that it looked like they hadn't started booking yet.

On another note I mentioned that I still hadn't received an e-mail from them and she sent one right out that didn't have any name attached to it. The one I received from the BWI over a month ago was signed.

Very interesting. I think it's safe to say there have been some big changes. In all my years of CL and calling/emailing IPO I have never been sent to a call center. I don't like that! :sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:

I just called the GF IPO office, too. It was busy and I had to wait quite a while to talk to a person. But the CM who answered is someone I have spoken with many times in the past (not GF IPO but AKL IPO or she was at AKL several years ago) so I don't think all the calls are going to a call center. I have often been able to hear other IPO CMs in the background over the years. I certainly hope they aren't shifting towards outsourcing the IPO offices -- I find many IPO CMs to be very helpful and knowledgable... Probably wishful thinking on my part.

It might be similar to what they have done with DTA. Sometimes we get outsourced agents answering the phone during busy hours, I always just hang up and call back.

Interesting! I didn't have to wait at all this time but I had a long wait a couple of weeks ago when I called the BWI IPO. This was the first time that I got the feeling that I wasn't talking to the IPO that I have been used to. Most of the time I do my own booking so it's not a big deal but as anyone who reads any of my posts knows I don't love change when it comes to the resorts. Silly I know!
 
I don't like change, either. And I don't like getting someone on the line who doesn't really know what's going on over there. It probably is a mix of people, but at least there are a few "real" IPO CMs still there. I usually ask them which hotel they do IPO for since it doesn't matter for ADRs but it does when I have questions about rooms and room requests. If they downgrade this service it will be a big deal IMHO.
 
I just renewed my Annual Pass to the new "platinum pass" and when I signed into MDE I can now see and download ALL of my old photopass photos going back as far as JULY!!!! I knew they were included in the new pass but I didn't know it was retroactive!!! :D

I just renewed my Annual Pass to the new "platinum pass" and when I signed into MDE I can now see and download ALL of my old photopass photos going back as far as JULY!!!! I knew they were included in the new pass but I didn't know it was retroactive!!! :D
We renewed our annual passes a few weeks ago and all of our pictures from our August and October trips appeared. And they don't expire until one year after they were taken. :)

I'm downloading them all right now! I'm excited because our October trip was short so I didn't buy a photopass. :D

Wow that is so interesting! I had MM for our last trips but now I always wonder if I missed downloading any :) Does everyone in your family have an AP? I was wondering if everyone in your MDE had their pictures show up, because in the wording of the platinum pass when I purchased it, it seemed that only photos scanned in using MY band would be eligible for download. Since my kids dont have MDE accounts I didnt know if they would actually be separated/unavailable.

When we upgraded my husband's pass the guy at guest services said every picture to a person linked would show up but his account had to be accessed to download them. He was just in his account yesterday too and said our pictures from our Late sept trip were in there. Sadly we purchased MM though. it must have been all the pictures because there was only 1 set he scanned on his mb and the rest were scanned to mine and he said there were a lot of pictures there.
