Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

We would like to rent a surrey bike on our arrival night as we don't have any plans but have a couple of questions.

1. What are the time frames for the rentals?
2. What is the route for the bikes, if there is one.

Bicycles and surrey bikes can be ridden around the resort promenade and must be kept on the paved pathways. It is important to be very careful when riding on the boardwalk around the main pool and through the Old Port Royale courtyard as those are main walkways. Having said that, we've rented surrey bikes many times and enjoyed it a lot. Oh and the number of times around the resort that you make is based upon how fast you pedal and how long you choose to rent.

Does OPR have to-go plates? I would like to be able to bring breakfast back to the room while the kids are still sleeping or getting ready.

They don't look like to-go boxes like you usually get at say Chili's or Applebees. There are stations set up in the food court that have plastic tops for the plates that the cast member serve the entrees on. Some of the food stations have tops for the dishes but not all do. But, as I said, you can find them in the seating area.

We are at CBR now. It's a beautiful resort. This is our second stay here. Just wanted to mention that we are in the Jamaica area, room 4421 and there is a Murphy bed in the room. My 5'3" daughter is sleeping on it but her feet are right at the end of the bed. We actually didn't pay for the extra bed; it was a bonus, esp because our daughters do not sleep well together. :). Our bathroom has a metal pocket door. We are very happy that we decided to stay here again. It's so quiet and peaceful here after being at the parks!

Only real drawback is that it is the farthest bus stop at the Magic Kingdom....about six miles away from the park entrance. Lol. Ok...obviously not really, but it is pretty much in the Contemporary parking lot and, although it doesn't seem like it should matter, that walk feels LOOOOOOONG at the end of the day. That's not something that would keep us from staying there again, of course. Just something we laughed about as we dragged our exhausted selves waaaaaay down there.

I totally agree with this, lol. A few years back it did seem like CBR's MK bus stop was in a different place each trip, sometimes closer, sometimes farther, but it has been way out there ever since they upgraded the stops to allow for the articulated buses. :(

I have a few months before our September trip to CBR, and I'm still trying to determine which area that we would like to request. How many days in advance do you recommend calling to request a room location?

We have a 7.15 adr for chef mickeys breakfast, will I be able to order a cab at check in, we arrive the evening before, or will the bus get us there on time? I had read it may not be possible for a bus that early.
You can arrange Uber to pick you up, the night before. You will know the cost prior to your pick up. It's about 2/3 the cost of a taxi and they will text you a photo of your driver along with licence plate #, and make/model of the car...

Thanks, I've never used uber before, what do I need to do?.
In Britain I drive every where, so I'm a novice with uber.

We are staying at CBR for the first time at th end of August, I'm so excited! Last year when we stayed at Pop we were able to request a box fan for the room; does CBR have these available as well?

No. The Moderates have ceiling fans in the rooms, which the Values do not, so they don't offer box fans.

In prior years POP was one of the furthest at MK but they changed that a few years ago. POP was the furthest at Epcot last time we were there. So our first stay at CBR will be no big deal as we're used to having the furthest stop!!

Excited for our first stay at the resort in September! Would anyone happen to know the pool times for September? I looked online but just found that they vary seasonally. With the parks closing reatively early, we are looking to going back to the resort at the end of the day and enjoying the pool before bedtime :)

Usually 9AM-11PM.

You just download the app into your smartphone. You can play around with it the night before, you can check the price etc.

Check it out when you have time the ight before and then request a ride about 10 minutes before you need to leave.
I LOVE Uber!

We have a 5:50pm dinner reservation at Chef Mickey's on Saturday. This is our check in day and no parks scheduled. Using Disney transportation, what would be the best way to get there? Bus to Magic Kingdom then monorail it over?

Thanks,Mike

Bus to Magic Kingdom and then walk to the Contemporary. Walking is usually faster than taking the monorail.

Like CJK stated, bus to MK and walk over. Maybe a 7 minute walk at best. It will take longer to take the monorail to Contemporary than walking.

Make sure to search Google for a "first time Uber user" code. You can find ones for a $20 off your ride or free first ride, etc. Any $$$ savings helps right?
Absolutely, I actually forgot about the first time Uber user discount code!
Thanks for bringing it up!
