Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

Random question...the restrooms in the mini pools within each island section, are they locked every night and if so what time do the open in the morning?

I'm not sure if I'm remembering the pool bathroom, laundry, or both but you needed a magic band or card to get in and were 24hrs. Officially the pools aren't 24hrs swimming but if you're being quiet most likely nobody would tell you to get out. The pool area is 24hrs.

Has anyone experienced their kids being scared by the theming of the pirate rooms?

We booked a trip in May for myself, my mom, and my daughters (ages 2 and 4). My mom had her heart set on staying at CBR because she's never stayed at a moderate resort before. We booked with the sun and fun discount, but the only CBR rooms left with the discount were pirate rooms. Now we're second-guessing whether the skull-and-crossbones curtain will freak out the kids, particularly the 2yo.

I tried to upgrade to a preferred room or even a different moderate resort, but none are available with the promotion anymore. The best we could do is move to an AoA Cars suite, which would still cost more money (and then my mom doesn't get her moderate resort stay). Any thoughts on how scary the room theming really is? Could we just leave the curtain open so you don't see the skull and be ok?
Maybe show them several pictures of the room and a Youtube video of the room and act really excited about staying there. Maybe it will get them excited about it too! :earsboy:

Has there been any plans released for Riviera additions to the lake in the way of a marina and different boat attractions/rentals? If they do have additions would they be DVC exclusive based on other DVC trends?

Nothing announced.

If it costs $$$ it is usually for anybody. Every other marina on WDW property will rent anyone a watercraft whether staying at a WDW resort or not.

Disney ended watercraft rentals at CBR,CSR and the Sassagoula River Resorts(POR,POFQ,OKW,SSR) about 5 years ago and is now limiting watercraft rentals to the Bay Lake,Seven Seas Lagoon and Crescent Lake Resorts.

Never say never with Disney, but I definitely wouldn't expect a marina and watercraft rentals for DRR.

I'm guessing the fishing boats are guided then? I know the pirate adventure has a CM guide for it. Are all fishing boats guided, even at the lakes where you can rent other boats?

Looks like they replaced the cheesy shower curtain separating the main room from the sinks with a barn door. That's a nice change.

do they still have 2 hot tubs here not sure if they removed one after all the renovations I know there is one at the main pool but what about the one that was more hidden in the back?

Just switched here for our stay in late July/Early August from POR. Excited to come back and see the changes :) In the past we have stayed in a standard room. This time the only availability was water/pool view. These can be in any village (except pirate) right?

Correct.

Man I was hoping that the gondolas would be open when we come but I think I'm wrong-when do they anticipate opening at this point?

Silly question, how do I put in a room request? Also when, I go in mid-May? Thanks for any help.
