I'm the 4th-12th of September now!

Where is the best place to request now that the refurb is done(will be done by my visit).

That's kind of tough to answer for somebody else, it's like trying to pick out what flavor of Ice Cream for someone else. But I will say that Jamaica 45 is our favorite location. It is a 4 minute stroll across the bridge to OPR and the main pool. And it's a beautiful walk at that, especially in the AM when the sun is coming up over the lake. That location is followed up by Aruba 51 for the same reason. We prefer Jamaica over Aruba because we love the bright yellow exterior of the Jamaica buildings.

Having said that, we have stayed in Barbados and Martinique too and have enjoyed them all. IMHO there is no bad location at CBR.

Awesome! We stayed in Jamaica and LOVED it. I don't remember the building now. I was in room 4226. I liked seeing the Frozen fireworks from there. The walk wasn't so bad until the very end of the week. But everything was tiring then. lol

I just wanted to double check that that was the still the "best" location now that the refurb is done. On the online check in is there a place to request the building?

If you were in room 4226 then you were in Jamaica 42. I don't like to make my room requests during online check in. I prefer to call and add them to my reservation. The options during online check in are predetermined and very limited. There's no place to write free form any requests, so you're stuck with what is there. When you call, the CM can write out what your requests are and you can list them in order of preference.

Are there any standout desserts for CS at CB? I'm just trying to decide on arrival day food. We will get to resort about noon. We have dinner reservations at 6:30 for Mama Melrose. I know CS options aren't great at DHS (or whatever it will be called by then).

Also, how would you get to DHS in the middle of the day?

We are fans of the soft serve Ice Cream and a couple of the cupcakes are fantastic.

Bus, which is the only way using WDW Transportation. It's only about a 6-7 minute ride on the bus.

My kids and husband love the Mickey bars and they are available near the registers in OPR. DS 9 also enjoyed the little cup of chocolate cake with chocolate icing and sprinkles.

Any bus stop around the resort will get you to DHS by bus, even in the middle of the day.

Enjoy your trip!!

Anyone know how to bypass the air sensor in the room?
It gets so hot at night.

You've got 2 choices. Stop by the Concierge Desk either at OPR or at the Custom House and ask that maintenance stop by and override the sensor. Or buy a balloon, tie it to a chair and put the chair by the AC unit so the fan keeps the balloon moving.

Ok. I know we were able to push some buttons at CSR before to override it. I will just have to buy a balloon I guess.

As they are refurbing rooms, they are putting in a different style of thermostat that guests are unable to override. If maintenance does it, there is a record of it and then they go back and change it once the guest that requests the override has checked out.

Sorry to ask if it's already been answered, but does anyone have the direct phone number for the resort?
Thanks in advance

There isn't one. And if you happen to find one online, it won't get you to CBR. All the numbers for the individual resorts route to an off site call center. The CM will answer the phone like they're at a certain resort depending on which number you dialed. Even when you hit the Front Desk button on the phone in your room it gets routed to the call center.

We have never stayed at a hotel that has an internal bus. How does it work? Does this bus take you all around the resort then to the parks or does it drop you at the resorts check in area where you then get on another bus to the parks?

Hello Mickeystoontown, just wanted to ---:teleport: -- in to say ---.

:goodvibes --- Bob

Hey Bob!

Can you get meals (such as the chicken dinner) to go from the food court? We're driving, so I'm hauling down with us several cases of pop, water, juice. Seems like a waste to pay for beverages x5 at the food court when we'll have more than enough to drink in our room. I'm hoping we can get a few meals to go and just eat in our room.

There are a couple of tables in the food court that have everything that you need to ready your food items "to go". There are lids, additional plates, napking, bags, etc.

Hi. Ill be there next Saturday for my ds's HS baseball team is playing at WWoS.

I was told on thtis thread there is not a gym. The boys as well as I will very much miss not having a gym. I giess we will just run when we can. What has anyone else done that misses the gym.

Hope the weather will be brighter than it is looking now.

Thanks for all this information in this thread! I love it.

No gym but you can all take a good run around the resort promenade. You'll see lots of runner at the resort.

When I book our room, would it be worth requesting that it not be near a smoking area? Have any of you ever had a room near one of the smoking areas and smelled the smoke in your room?

We'll be at CBR next month (SO EXCITED). I've read that the Epcot fireworks can be heard from the resort. Can you actually see them as well? If so, what's the best viewing spot?

We have watched them from the courtyard at Old Port Royale, the Martinique beach and the Barbados beach.

I love the monkey cupcakes. They come in two different flavors....vanilla or chocolate with a delicious banana filling in the middle.

There are bus stops in every resort village. If you don't want to walk to, say, the food court or Custom House, you can take the internal shuttle bus. The Internal Shuttle is clearly marked and makes a loop around the entire resort. The buses for the parks and Downtown Disney make stops at the bus stops as well. The park buses will continue to pick up guests around the resort and them leave for the parks.

Good morning! Sorry that I haven't been around the Dis to update the roll call. I was finally getting email notifications after the change-over but they've stopped again. And, I was busy hosting a #DisneySide@homecelebrations party! Yep, I was chosen as a hostess and I had the party on the 28th. If you want to take a look at what we did at the party, click on the link in my signature below.

The Internal Shuttle continues to circle around the CBR property. Each village within CBR has its own bus stop. The Internal Shuttle stops at each of these bus stops...I do believe it stops at the Custom House too (If I remember correctly). CBR is a large resort, there are walking paths throughout the resort, the shuttle is there if you do not want to walk or cannot walk to help you get to where you need on property. There are different buses that will take you to the parks. These buses will circle around the resort once stopping at each village bus stop before heading out to its designated park.
