If you were in room 4226 then you were in Jamaica 42. I don't like to make my room requests during online check in. I prefer to call and add them to my reservation. The options during online check in are predetermined and very limited. There's no place to write free form any requests, so you're stuck with what is there. When you call, the CM can write out what your requests are and you can list them in order of preference.

I called last year and they were noted. I just cannot remember what the heck I asked for. I know I just picked Jamaica because I wanted a ready room when we arrived at 9 in the morning. This time I want to be a little closer to everything. So I'm going to call and ask for Jamaica 45!

What other things do the regulars request? I LOVED being on the ground floor with the stroller. I'm thinking of asking for a murphy bed but I'm not sure if I want to give up the drawer space.

We have had the most luck in getting our requests when we have limited them to 2. Are standards at CBR are Jamaica 45 and 2nd floor, we've gotten them both our last 4 trips. We are way past the stroller stage so we like the 2nd floor.

We'll be at CBR May 25-June 1. Can't wait! I have a question about our reservation. We had originally booked May 26-June 1 (Tuesday-Monday). I called the travel agent and asked to add an additional day to the front of our trip (Monday, May 25). We'd originally booked using the Spring room discount. There weren't any more rooms available at the discounted rates, so we ended up making a separate reservation for Monday, May 25, with no tickets attached. So that means Tuesday morning I'll have to go check out and then check in again with our main reservation (that has our tickets attached), and we may or may not have to change rooms (I don't really care, not a big deal to me). My question is, what do I need to do to make sure we can get access to the park as soon as possible? We'd like to spend the day at MK, but the agent told me we won't be able to go to the park until we check out & check back in.

You can pick up your park tickets up to 3 days before your package starts at one of the multiple Guest Services locations on Site. So if you wanted to, you could add a day to your tickets and go to the parks on the 25th. Just an idea.

But yes, you will have to check out and check back in on the morning of the 26th. You can do that as early as 6AM. So if you head over to Custom House around 6AM on the 26th to check in/check out and then you're ready to hit the parks. I would recommend having your TA call and link the 2 reservations together and then make a request to keep the same room. Then when you are checking in on the 25ht, mention to the CM that you have a new reservation starting the next day and ask if you are able to keep the same room. If not, they should be able to move you so you can keep the same room.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by picking up my park tickets; I thought they would be programmed in my magic band? I'll check with my TA to see about getting the reservations linked. Thanks!!

Nothing is programmed in your Magic Bands. They only act as a way for you to access your entitlements that are linked to your MDE account, such as park ticket, dining credits, etc. Since you package does not start until the 26th your tickets start on the 26th, if you want you can "pick up" your tickets early and start using them on the 25th. That's what I meant. We've done that a bunch of times when we've come in a day or 2 early because of cheaper airfare.

Hi Everyone!

We have a large group going April 17-26. First time staying at CBR... so i have some questions. Sorry if these have already been asked, but the thread was too long for me to go through each page ;)

1. We have a pirate room booked, so I know we're staying in the Trinidad South area. My question is, to get to the Old Port Royale using the internal bus transportation, we'd have to get on at Trinidad South and then sit through all the other stops around the resort (Jamaica, Aruba, Barbados, Martinique)? Then on the way back, we'd get on at Old Port Royale and ride through Trinidad North? Is this right?

2. The buses that take you OUT of the resort.... are they the same bus stops as the internal ones? Do they follow the same route? Where do they leave to go to the resort? I'm trying to figure out how we'll know which bus to get on/or which route to look for.

3. Kind of resort related - we're having lunch at Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge on our Animal Kingdom day. We won't have a car (doing buses the whole trip), so does this mean we have to ride the bus from CBR to Animal Kingdom and then switch buses to take us from AK to AKL, then shuttle back from AKL to AK after lunch? Can we walk from AK to AKL or is that too far? Getting this many people to do that many bus transfers will be tough so I'm hoping this is not the case!

4. Can taxis/uber cars pick up/drop off directly at the hotel room building? Or would we have to ride to the custom house to get picked up?

Thank you all very much for your help!

I will be there the same dates! How big of a group are you with?

Welcome to the DIS and to the CBR FAQ Thread. :welcome:

No need to read the entire thread, the first 2 pages have just about everything you would need to know.

1. Correct. Just an FYI, I've done the walk to OPR from the furthest point of Trinidad South and it was not bad at all. It took about 10-11 minutes with stopping to take pictures. I might suggest trying it once and if it's too far then try the internal bus.

2. Yes, the internal bus and the park buses use the exact same bus stops. And the buses are clearly marked on the front and sides so no worries about getting on the wrong one.

3. Yes, you will take a bus from AK to AKL and then a bus from AKL back to AK. Even though they are very close to one another, there is no way to walk between the two.

4. If you call for a taxi, they will pick you up at the circular drive of your building. Or if you are going to be at OPR anyway eating or whatever, you can have them pick you up there. It's up to you.

Thank you so much! This helps a lot!

I have a cab question. For an 8am CP breakfast could we call a cab to our section of the resort or do you have to get picked up at Customs House? I was thinking it would be easier to cab it than to rely on Disney buses but if we have to walk from Jamaica to CH first it sort of defeats the time saving aspect. If we do have to bus it would getting to the bus stop by 7am give us enough time?

Try Uber or Lyft they are both app based car services and they use your phones GPS location to come right to you. Pricing is similar to cabs.

I'm going to go CBR and ground floor and think Pixie dust for the murphy bed! I'm going a super light week from what I hear so I should get my requests.

I did online check in and asked for Jamaica and Ground floor. Then I decided that since my only other stay at CBR was Jamaica, I should request a different area. On MDE I was able to request Martinique, but could not uncheck Jamaica. So now shows my requests as Jamaica, Martinique, Ground Floor. I was wondering if anyone else have this when trying to modify online check in. I will call to specifiy Martinique, but wish I could just do it myself. Any thoughts?

Another reason I always suggest calling any room requests in. There's no way to uncheck what was checked during online check in. You'll have to call to have it fixed.

Booked CBR for 12/7 - 12/11/2015! We'll be visiting family in Florida for a wedding, and I couldn't resist being that close to Disney and not taking my girls for a return trip. We stayed at AoA the week of Thanksgiving 2014, and I am REALLY hoping for less crowds than that. I didn't love AoA (LM room) so am really looking forward to moving up to CBR this time!

You should have smaller crowds during your stay. We have stayed Thanksgiving week and weekend and Christmas week. Traditionally, according to a couple of WDW employees I know, they have their family come down the week right after Thanksgiving, and the first couple weeks in February. Says that is their slowest times of the year.

Have fun.

You've got 2 choices. Stop by the Concierge Desk either at OPR or at the Custom House and ask that maintenance stop by and override the sensor. Or buy a balloon, tie it to a chair and put the chair by the AC unit so the fan keeps the balloon moving.

Thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

Maybe this trick will eliminate the need for the box fan!

Are the rooms at CBR dark? I love to open the curtains and let the sunshine in, but since the window is next to the walkway, it seems we won't be able to do that. I've read that I can request a corner room, but we'd still have to keep the curtains closed.
