Are there DVD players attached to the TVs? Doubt we will need it, but wondering if I should throw a movie or 2 in the suitcase:)

No. There are connector thingies so you can connect a computer or DVD player to the screen.

Sorry that I haven't updated the Beach Bum Roll Call lately. It's been super busy at the office. Just wanted to pop in and let you guys know that I just spoke with a travel agent friend of mine who has successfully booked rooms for 5 at the resort with the Stay Play & Dine promotion as well as with no promotion. Will fill you guys in when I receive more information.

***Edited: She was able to book one last week because of a computer glitch. The official date that Disney Travel opened them up for booking was Monday of this week and she has booked several since then.

***Edited again: I just looked at the Disney site and tried to book a part of 5 and it would allow me to do so!

Which buildings did you request when you did your on-line check-in? If you check on the 1st page you'll see where they are so far ... I know for a fact that Jamaica is done since that's were we stayed. We stayed in a room at one of the All-Stars for our 1st night and i'm sure you'll notice a big difference in the size of the rooms!
Have a great vacation :thumbsup2

i asked for aruba or jamacia i did see where some people have faxed there request in to does anyone think i need to do that?

We made a request on our reservation months ago for Jamaica or Aruba. I called a couple week prior and verified that the requests were still on the reservation. I made the same request at online check in. We were placed in Martinique building 23. It was not refurbished. I asked again at check in if there were any refurbed rooms available. She said there weren't, but don't unpack and maybe tomorrow there will be. I called the front desk later and asked again. They said there were no refurbished rooms available any time during our 9 night stay. I don't know whether the fax would have made the difference, but I didn't fax and we did not get our requests. We came home on Sunday, Nov 23rd so just a few days ago.

Don't get me wrong - still at WDW and still had an awesome time!

No. I am sorry. I should have paid more attention. There were buildings very near us under construction, but I don't know which ones.

Erin327 do you know which building they were working on?
I'll go over and check on it and let you know.

I'm here now. We are in Jamaica 41. Got all of our requests: Jamaica, first floor, Murphy bed!
Room is great, very clean and we love the new decor, but we like the dark, rustic feel better than bright, colorful so that's just a taste preference, but overall we are very happy so far.:thumbsup2

It looks like Martinique 21 is done and appears they are starting on 22. Not 100% sure about this, just what I figure based on appearances from walking around the outsides looking in the windows.

Got back late last night. Room request was kind of received, we asked for something close to the bridge and near each other. We got adjoining rooms in Jamaica 42. Kind of a long walk to the OPR but we did get adjoining and Jamaica so I guess we got some of the requests. All in all it's a very pretty resort but too spread out. Buses were ok, no big wait at all but not as prompt as other resorts. All in all the resort was so-so, no big complaint but no bid kudos. I was with my parents (89 and 79 years old) so something smaller like POFQ would have been better for them. I would rank this above the values we have stayed at but at the lower end of the mods, just an ok resort. :cool1:

Just came back from our resort hopper trip where we stayed for the 2 last nights. Got a refurbished room in Jamaica: perfect. Loved the resort. Now that we have tried the 4 moderates, I can honestly say that CB is our Number 1.

The only downside (we didn't have the time to check the possibilities)... Having to walk 20 minutes in the cold at 5:45 AM (it was freezing yesterday morning) to get to the Lobby to take the Magical Express. Is there any other way to do it?

All you do is call the day before you leave and they send a van to pick you up and drive you to Magical Express.

We called bell services the night before and told them what time our Magical Express was and they said they'd be there 30 minutes before our bus time. They came right to the door and loaded our bags and us into a van. I tipped him of course. It is quite a hike to get your magical Express bus, can't imagine doing it with luggage.

A question for you previous CBR folks... Our flight home isn't until 7pm, which means Magical Express will be around 4- way past check out time. I know they will store our luggage but what is the best way to get it checked in with ME and stow our carry ons at the main lobby- in other words, how do we get it all there? If I call the night before and tell them a set time, will they come get it? How much time should I budget for this? We are going to MK that days or a few hours- it opens at 8am and though Im doubting we will make it for rope drop, Im hoping to be there as close to 8 as possible...

Thanks!

Yes you can call the night before and arrange to have your bags picked up, you do need to tip for this service though. I'm not sure what time the internal shuttle starts running but we did see several families taking their luggage to the Custom House that way. If you don't have the option to do resort check-in for your bags (only certain airlines offer this) you can still leave your bags with bell services & simply pick them up before your bus arrives. If you get the bags to bell services yourself they will not accept a tip (we tried valiantly but the CM politely refused and instead gave my hubby a wand :rotfl2: )

Have fun at the park and make sure you're back in time to get your stuff and catch the bus.

Have a great trip.

I had the same experience. I did fax, it didn't help
