Thank you for this!!! I am so excited now. I was 210 lbs after my twins were born. I am now (finally) down to 114 lbs (After a lot of work!) and vacations are always a huge worry for me! I am so happy to see healthy options in the QS area of AOA!!! This makes my stay in Aug so much easier!! Thank you.

you know this is the first new Disney hotel (not DVC) since 2003 when Pop opened. Nine years is a long time to wait.

thanks for the pictures - have definitely enjoyed them.

The links are great! I always love new pics. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Does anyone know if they are going to paint those Nemo guys on the sides of the building or are they just meant to be left white? It seems like they would get some colour based on how colourful the rest of the buildings are... We check into Cars on 8/25. CAN'T WAIT. We even managed to get free dining after all! :thumbsup2

If you mean the drawings that look like sketches ? I am not sure but it looks to me like they are going for that early stage of a animation where things are sketched out. Although the Sketches in the lobby are colored in. It will be interesting to see what they do.

I cant wait till everything is landscaped in .

When does AoA open?

Finding Nemo Family suite here we come!!!

It was family vote Nemo vs. Cars- And Nemo won. I was thinking cars since it would be even newer- but I'll go with 3 extra weeks in for Nemo. Looks cute and I love the Fish are Friends mirror!

Booked for July 1-7!:banana::banana::banana:
So very excited.

This is going to be BIG change for us - our last 3 trips were CL at the BWI. So going from concierge to Value- but I'm excited! It'll all be new to us. And I think we'll love the 2 bathrooms!

Now for DINING!!!

They are staying as is. Imagine a flip book of drawings showing a moving picture...the early animation process :thumbsup2 Heard about it last year from an Imagineer talk. :goodvibes

We're checking in May 31...can't wait either!! :cool1::cool1:

I can't wait until it opens and we get to hear impressions and stories and see pictures from some of you in this thread!!!

I always read and read before I make my resort choice and have such a good idea of where we're going before we book. It's part of the fun for me. It will be fun to see the reports as they start rolling in!! (I hope!)

I really loved the look of the Nemo rooms. But I figured they would be the busiest and possibly the noisiest area being by the pool. Not a big deal but I have trouble with even light noise when going to sleep so I never like to be near the pool at any resort. I will have my handy sound machine and earplugs (yes, I am high maintenance lol).
So with all of that.. we went for the the Lion King. Surprise trip for my ds (8). I can't wait to surprise him!!!
DD is in on the whole trip because she's 15 and has more arrangements to make to go away, and because we invited her best friend to come with us so we had to plan with her family as well.

All in all, I think it's going to be so exciting to pull up to a new unseen resort for us!
And an extra bathroom for the two teenage girls? Heavenly!!:rotfl:

ETA) and this friend of dd's that we are bringing has never been to Disney except for a day trip when she was really small. But she loves all things Disney and is such a sweet and wonderful girl. I can not tell you how excited dd, dh and I are to bring her on this trip! And what better place for your first onsite stay then AoA?! It just screams Disney. She had already thanked us 8000 times. I told her she only gets to say it once more when the trip is over. I just want her to have a blast!

I hope I am not driving you all crazy with my links .( tell me if I am ) Here is a site with great close up pics . http://www.wdwmagic.com/Resorts/Dis...views-of-Disney's-Art-of-Animation-Resort.htm ( source wdw magic )
EDIT- It is recent , but it doesn't look to be as recent as the video we saw as the LM buildings now have the fish and bubbles on them.

Driving us crazy...are you kidding? I for one love seeing all of the photos and videos from the links you give us. It's great. Thanks! :flower3:

Now for a totally random question that showcases the over planner that I am:rolleyes1

In all of the pictures and room layouts I can find of the suites.. I don't see anything that looks like a closet area or somewhere to put the luggage. Not a big deal, but I am trying to picture where the 4 or 5 potential suitcases will go once unpacked. :confused3

I realize it's a silly question. Just wondering if anyone has thought about that or seen a picture I haven't. I am not a big fan of clutter and tripping over stuff in a hotel room. So I was looking at the pictures and thinking where I would put things. Usually there is no room under the beds either. Maybe between the bed and the wall in the bedroom area? It's the only thing I can think of.

I know I know.. but if I don't ask you people I'll show the pictures to my husband and ask him.. and that might be the final straw that has him driving me to be committed somewhere for my Disney obsession:rotfl::lmao:

Just an update, in case this is helpful to someone else... once Disney started offering FD for the suites, I really started to think about if there was a way to make it work for my family, since dh will not enter the Parks, but will eat -- and I'm paying rack rate anyway, so no discount there. I got some fabulous advice from Cheshire Figment about the tickets on the package. Tickets which have not been used are completely transferrable. This means I can switch to LK and FD, with buying 2-day tickets for everyone, upgrade the rest of the family's tickets to 4-day hoppers, and save dh's ticket to use myself when I'm back in January for marathon weekend, at which time I can also upgrade that ticket if I so desire. :yay:

This made FD a no-brainer, since I'm not wasting a ticket at all -- I'm pre-purchasing for my next trip! :thumbsup2

I'm tempted to wait and see if Nemo becomes FD available, but perhaps I'll just switch to LK tonight...I don't want to miss the promotion now I've figured out how to use it! ;)

Maria :upsidedow

We'll be there on opening day 5/31/12. :cool1: We can't wait to be the first ones ever to use our assigned room. :dance3::yay::woohoo:

I just took a look at the pictures on wdwmagic. Thanks to cinderella73 for the link! Looks like AoA will have covered bus stops! :cool1:

You are right. I just looked at all the floor plans that I had found on other sites...no closet on any of them. One, however, did have a bar up in the master bedroom. Looks similar to what they have at POFQ...an exposed bar to hang things on, but it was in the master bedroom not the bathroom like POFQ. Also, in the photos of the living rooms, they have a picture of a suitcase on a table by the tv. Wondering if that is where they expect you to put them? I agree that will be a little hard. We will have 6 suitcases and no closet to stick them in. I guess I will just put them all against the wall. :confused3 It does look like there are draws to put things in the living room and master bedroom though, so that is helpful.

Also there is another exposed bar with a few hangers in the living room as well. You can see it on the room view on the waltdisneyworld website. HTH
