Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

Wow! My husband would have loved that. We were there 3 nights of that time span. Got a complimentary upgrade from ASM standard room to ASM preferred. Cheer/dance groups weren't bad, but the pools were really crowded in the evenings and the mobile order pickups took longer then too. But no real issues with the groups themselves. Unlike the football/cheer groups at one of the Rosen hotels in December, who thought masks in elevators and interior hallways were optional.
Arriving tomorrow, good to hear that it's not bad. By chance did you happen to see what area they seem to be staying in? Praying all goes well while there.

In February 2012 we visited WDW for the first time with our oldest and stayed at ASMo and 10 years later we are booked to stay there again! I just wish we would still pay 105$/night! lol. We are usually staying moderate but our favourite resort (POFQ) is not available to book yet and since we will have a very park intensive stay and prefer driving to the parks (except MK) anyway, ASMo made more sense than CBR that was 1000$ more for the same nights (Feb25-March3).

We booked preferred and I just want to confirm that all the rooms have been renovated?

Confirmed! They have been :)

Re: which section...
A lot of them were in the Mighty Ducks section. We didn't spend much time outside 101 Dalmations/Mighty Ducks areas but I would not be surprised if a lot of the standard buildings had a lot of dance/cheer guests.

I'm traveling and keep checking my account and they still haven't sent my room number, getting a little worried. Got a welcome notice earlier, but that's it. I've never had this happen before, have always gotten my room number in advance. Has anyone ever gotten it this late before?

We went to Animal Kingdom on check-in day and didn't find out our room number until after lunch.

Yes. A few times I got a late text or sometimes it never came and I had to go to the front desk.

On the Cheerleader front(lol),it is changing over today from High School to College.

They are mainly staying in Mighty Ducks and Love Bug(the Varsity tent is in that area),but are also "sprinkled" in other sections.

If you are adverse to Cheerleaders, this may not be the place for you!lol

They even have their own Scavenger Hunt!

Just got back, stayed in Love Bug section. Yes the cheerleaders were there. Sometimes practicing on the grass right outside our room, but the never did it to early or to late. Overall they were very respectful.
Never went to pools, even though they seemed very crowded when we passed by, the closed pool signs were not up.
Did mobile order for food court and was done quickly, had no problems.
Overall a very nice stay. Can't wait until Oct now!

Question about coffee. If the trash is emptied and new towels given every other day, will I be able to make coffee in my room each morning? Do I bring my own?

All you have to do is call and have them bring more coffee to your room. They'll bring as many as you like.

Any idea on the price of a case of water and if they have a pint of half and half in the gift store? I know they have before. Thats all I need and if it prices equal to a food delivery with delivery charge might just be easier for me. Otherwise I’m inclined to order stuff I don’t really need to justify free delivery 😁

I am booked to stay at ASMo Sept 25-29. With the 50th that week, what is the likelihood that they would upgrade a solo traveler? Trying to figure out if I want to just stay all week on Universal property.

Upgrade chances are always extremely close to zero, even now, when we are actually seeing it happen spontaneously, it appears to be a few percent of travelers. By September one would imagine all of the All Stars are open and they’ve dispensed with upgrades entirely.

I personally enjoyed Universal Aventura once I figured out how to turn the lights on.
