Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

Before Covid, the All-Stars did share a direct bus to Blizzard Beach and I have seen one report that that is still happening now with just Movies.

We are staying at Movies next Saturday and may be going to BB one day,so I will double-check.
Oh, yes! Please let us know!

For MK I would say 6/6:15, or 6:30 at the latest if you’re okay with the second bus. On 4/1 my DD and I got in line at 6:15 and we were behind 8 people. Those 8 people were holding spots for 10 more, and an ECV joined the line shortly after we did, so my DD and I were the second to last party to make it onto the first bus. The line grew very quickly behind us, and I would guess that people that were just joining the line at 6:45 (when the first bus arrived) probably got on the third or fourth buses to MK.

Line holding!!!!!???!!
You mean line cutting!!!?
Omg!![/QUOTE]

What time are the buses for HS showing up and is there a long wait for buses or do they keep showing up?

You have to remember that the busses are divided into sections of seats - 4 or more I think is common? And because of COVID only 1 party will be seated per section. So let's say there are 9 sections on the bus. If there are 9 parties of 1 person in front of you, you will miss that first bus. It really doesn't matter if more people join those 9 at the last second.

It does matter, because there are now several sections of two. Those parties took up much more space than they would have if their additional family members hadn’t joined late.

Edited to add: In my scenario, there were four parties ahead of us - a party of 3, two parties of two, and one party of one. They would have taken up four sections on the bus and maybe 9 seats. With 10 more people joining the line, each party expanded to take up at least two “sections” - especially the guy who had five family members join him at the last minute and went from a party of 1 to a party of 6.

Ah, I see what you are saying - yes, in that situation where a very small group suddenly balloons to 6 or something, then it does impact how many parties will be able to board a single bus. I would certainly not be pleased. I don't mind at all when it is smaller parties.

Anyone have an activity/recreation/movie list for this month? Looking more specifically this week? Heading down tomorrow!

Does anyone know if more handicap-accessible rooms were added when they did the refurbishment? Does anyone know where roll-in shower rooms are located in the standard sections that have two queen beds? Thanks!

8 more days I haven't received a call so I'm assuming there are enough rooms with the cheer groups, all I can do is hope I get a quiet room I requested. Only a couple nights this go around so I think it'll be ok, just can't wait to get to the F&G!!
We are 8 days from walking the red carpet as well!

SO excited to be back at the All-Stars!

My very first WDW trip was at All-Star Sports in 2003 so I will always LOVE,LOVE,LOVE the All-Stars!

Agree about F&G.

Arrival plans:

No Breakfast
Arrive and dispose of bags
Catch next bus to Epcot
SPRINT to the Outdoor Kitchens!lol :)

Arriving to Movies on Monday. We stayed here just before the shut down and have since stayed at Pop. Love the Values renovation! Rooms are so clean and efficient! One thing we don't love: the mattress feels hard as a ROCK to us.

Any advice for dealing with this? If I thought I could get a mattress topper for cheap from Walmart, I would add it to my grocery delivery order. Quite serious.

Fortunately, we will move to Wilderness Lodge on Friday and I would hope Deluxe hotel mattresses are softer. This is our first Deluxe stay, so I don't personally know.

I take it you're staying in a DVC villa? Honestly, the villas are all kind of different when it comes to the comfort of the mattresses. I thought the Poly studio mattresses were awful, but the Boardwalk was pretty good. I've never stayed in either of the DVC sections at WL, so I really don't know. But if you plan to use a pull-out couch bed at them, then you'll definitely want that mattress topper because I personally think any of the pull-out couch beds are terrible.

This sealed the deal - we are using the pull out couch and I found a queen size topper at the local Walmart for $35 😆 So we'll get 7 nights' use of it which feels worth it. Thanks!

We've snagged a preferred room ressie for November. What can you recommend for room location? We prefer top floor, usually quiet locations. TIA!

Could anyone let me know if the gift shop sells cold items (lunchables, yogurt, cheese, anything)? We will be driving and can easily pack dry items. Will only need a couple of cold items so trying to avoid a grocery run if possible.

Complete newbie here. Our trip is mid-June....

We're booked in a preferred room through the military discounts (not sure if that matters). Are there specific areas or sections the preferred rooms are in? Or does each section have some of the preferred rooms?

Is there a place to buy a case of bottled water? We won't have a car, so trying to avoid going outside of the property.

Thanks in advance!

From the first post:
Preferred Buildings: As of May 06 Toy Story, and 101 Dalmatians have been added to the Fantasia buildings as "preferred" because of their close proximity to the Feature Pool, Cinema Hall and the bus stops. Guests may upgrade from a standard room to a preferred room for $10 per night (plus applicable tax). The only standard buildings are Mighty Ducks and Love Bug.

And yes, you should be able to get cases of bottled water at the gift shop, I believe.

Just got a call from Disney. They moved me from All Star Movies to Coronado Springs for my trip next month. Dates are 4/16-4/25. I didn’t think to ask why we were moved.
Wow! My husband would have loved that. We were there 3 nights of that time span. Got a complimentary upgrade from ASM standard room to ASM preferred. Cheer/dance groups weren't bad, but the pools were really crowded in the evenings and the mobile order pickups took longer then too. But no real issues with the groups themselves. Unlike the football/cheer groups at one of the Rosen hotels in December, who thought masks in elevators and interior hallways were optional.
