Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

It looks like preferred rooms are booked solid during my dates (6/15-6/12)

Any other recomendations for what to ask for? I will spend almost no time at the hotel, so my only consideration is close to buses (I don't use the pools at Disney resorts usually) I usually stay at POP but couldn't get it this time.

Normally I’d say Mighty Ducks since it’s super close to the buses at Music, but I don’t think Music will be open by then. Love Bug is about the same distance to the buses at Movies, but they don’t have a pool which may make it quieter.

Can anyone tell me what the luggage services lines are like at Movies? I just booked tickets for Memorial Day weekend last night and trying to decide between Pop and Movies. I’m hearing getting luggage held has quite a wait (sometimes over an hour) at Pop and wondering if it is the same at Movies? I will need to have my luggage held the last day of my trip and want to maximize my time doing other things than waiting in a long line to drop and retrieve luggage. Thanks!

An hour to drop off luggage at the front !!???!!
Insane. Kinda makes no sense since they only have to tag it!??

Pop century has about 1000 more rooms than asm, so do they have more workers for the demand or is it the same?

I wish I could say I was kidding when I said an hours long wait but unfortunately this is what I am reading on the Pop Century thread here as well as in Facebook groups. I was most recently at Pop in December and only had to wait at maximum 10 minutes to both drop and pick up my luggage so I was very shocked to read this myself. Hoping someone who has stayed there recently can tell me if it’s better at Movies since I’m torn which resort to stay at for my upcoming trip.

Anyone getting moved from Movies first or second week of May? We've got a quick stay coming up May 9-10 and am wondering if they'll leave us there or move us

our trip is middle of May......and park times have recently changed!! I was working on our TP and just realized, food court opens at 7?? Is 7AM the norm?

Yes,during Covid World it is precisely at 7:00 AM.

In non-Covid times, the Beverage Island in World Premiere is accessible 24/7 and there is "usually" access to Grab n' Go around 6:30 AM.

There have been times when the All-Star Food Courts HAVE opened at 6:00 AM and also times when they have opened at 6:30 AM as well.

Hopefully they will go to a 6:00 AM open again at some point.

And having 24/7 access to the Beverage Island REALLY added a lot of value to the Mugs!

In the first week of November, I know there's Jersey Week starting 11/4 and potentially race weekend, starting 11/6.

Are there any other big groups around that time? We booked a 2 night stay (DVC room sold out) at AS Movies and preferred was the only room type available (which is fine cuz we are going to ask for Toy Story).

Can anyone tell me what the bus line-up timeline has been like at Movies? If we want to be on the first or second bus to Magic Kingdom, what time should we get in line? (for an 8am opening, meaning 7:15ish rope drop)

What about Hollywood Studios? What time should we be in line for first/second bus? (for a 9am opening, meaning 8:15ish rope drop)

For MK I would say 6/6:15, or 6:30 at the latest if you’re okay with the second bus. On 4/1 my DD and I got in line at 6:15 and we were behind 8 people. Those 8 people were holding spots for 10 more, and an ECV joined the line shortly after we did, so my DD and I were the second to last party to make it onto the first bus. The line grew very quickly behind us, and I would guess that people that were just joining the line at 6:45 (when the first bus arrived) probably got on the third or fourth buses to MK.

Have you seen a direct bus to Blizzard Beach from here? Thanks
Before Covid, the All-Stars did share a direct bus to Blizzard Beach and I have seen one report that that is still happening now with just Movies.

We are staying at Movies next Saturday and may be going to BB one day,so I will double-check.

that's frustrating.........I understand some joining but, 10?? I would have not been too happy.

thanks for the info....I've always been a rope drop visitor but, during covid, I seem to get there after rope drop but, before official park opening time & just walking right in (that was in Nov).
so......does anyone know, do they send bus after bus or still a long wait in between buses 1st thing in the morning?
