Disneyland Secrets

Does that trick work as of right now? everytime i try and do it, its broken.

Last time I was there (Sept 2006) it wasn't working. It hasn't been working for quite a while.

Also, there is a rock with a rope in Indiana Jones that says "do not pull rope", but if you pull it, it says something! That one is not always working, either, though! :)

The pole needs to "reset" after it's pushed, so if it doesn't work when you go by, it may be that somebody in front of you has recently done it. Good luck!

Yes, but it is usually broken more than it works. In fact the last few times I have walked through there the pole was completely removed.

It's a well, not a rock. It's in the room right before the one with the safety video. There are 3 sets of sayings. When you first pull on it you hear someone telling you that there are people working and don't pull on the rope. The next time they are meaner about it. Finally the third time you hear them falling. Just like the pole, it takes a while to reset, even in between the 3 sayings.

- Why was disneyland built? Well, it was built after Walt Disney took his two daughter to play in anahiem is thought of the idea of a theme park.

- Disneyland is actually built on a slight slope. why? Because Walt wanted people to work their way into the park, going uphill. This also makes the illusion that all the building is taller. Walt also wanted the downhill to make it easier to go home knowing ppl would be tired.

- Matterhorn, a lot of ppl comment about this... i doubt its a break room since it is on the top 4th or 5th floor. I have yet to see it, and hopefully i can when it reopens :)

- Toontown is closed everyday at 8:30 before the park. Anyone want to guess why?

More specifically on why Walt built it. When he spend Daddy's day with the girls on the weekend everywhere he took them, the girls would be able to ride the carousel or train or whatever it was at any park. But there was nothing that the parents and kids could ride together. Walt wanted to be able to have fun with his family, not just watch from the benches.

I've seen pictures of the basketball hoop in the Matterhorn. I believe it was a break room for the mountain climbers, not just any cast member.

A large tree collapsed near the riverboat landing in Frontierland on May 4, 2001 (my birthday) causing injury to nearly thirty park guests and crowding the skies above the park with up to six helicopters.

Actually, the tree that collapsed was near the Stage Door Cafe/River Belle Terrace seating area. I was visiting the park that day. :guilty: No one really knew what had happened because the area was roped off so quickly. We happened to be in the New Orleans Square area and we were ushered to the opposite side of the park rather quickly.

Every major (5year) anniversary since the 25th in 1980 has featured party hats and free birthday cake to all park guests throughout the day.

I still have my party hat from the 40th birthday party. And they did have cake stations all over the park that day passing out slices. I remember we must have gotten 4 or 5 slices thoughout the day. Talk about a sugar high!! :teeth:

Snopes has a picture taken up there with Vlade Divac when he was with the Los Angeles Lakers playing hoops on the half court...and you are correct, it was a break room for the mountain climbers. There is a FALSE rumor about some regulations that Disney got around by putting the court up there.

Thanks for the clarification! I've only been thru there about a 1000 times! Pretty sad I can't remember exactly what it was! I should have asked the kids! :teeth:

I don't get it. What's the secret? The target or something else?

I must be "slow" because I'm not sure what the secret is either?!? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I think this is what he means. See where the white circle is in the picture. Shoot that hole there, and you get lots of points. We've never managed to do it, but supposedly if you can actually hit in that hole you will get a lot of points, or max points, I don't remember what it is. There is supposed to be another one also.

Did you know that...

The Rivers of America is actually filled with water from the main rivers of america (the great lakes, mississippi river, etc), so it truely is the Rivers of America.

I just heard that on the Disney podcast.. found it pretty interesting.

In that white circle is the (secret) hidden target on Zurg.
It's also in the same location on the Zurg in the final battle with Buzz.

A couple inches below his (Z) and in between the space on his chestplate.

It scores 50,000 a hit. :cool1:
