Disneyland Secrets

AWESOME thread. Unfortunately I don't have anything to share :( I'm definitely going to be looking for some of this stuff next time though! Thanks to those who have shared! :thumbsup2

After reading this thread, I think I have to convince DH we have to go back to DL SOON!

Thanks for the great trivia

Ok so it's not a very good "secret" but I thought it was cool. A CM told us that most CM's that play Mickey Mouse are mostly women...or really small men. :thumbsup2

I thought so!
When we saw Steamboat Mickey on our last trip, his legs were awfully thin. I suspected it was a woman.

Great thread! :thumbsup2

Here's a couple:

* The scientific name of the tree used for Tarzan's treehouse is Disneyodendron semperflorens grandis -- meaning: large ever-blooming Disney tree.

* In the HM, the organ in the hall w/ the party is the one from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

* On Autopia there is a mouse-crossing complete w/ mouse holes in the curb.

* Originally, the Casey Jr. Circus Train was planned as DL's first rollercoaster ride.

Keep 'em coming! :)

actually, you might be pleasantly suprised... some guys even play female characters...

You don't see Donald Duck often because the person has to be quite short to use the coustume.

The book "Mouse Tales" has a ton of cool facts.

Do you all know where to find the "Secret bathroom"????

A CM also told us that there can be up to 4 Mickey's in his house at any one time. Does anyone think they have experienced that?

I have heard that the CM's running the attractions rotate every 15-30 minutes to keep them on their feet. This way they never get bored or tired and keep their happy and pleasant attitudes. Anyone know how this really works?

There used to be Mermaids in the submarine lagoon. Now I am not near old enough to have been able to witness them first hand, but I have heard its true. How cool would that be if they came back with the new Nemo ride!! Wishful thinking I know!!

I can't say that I know how it works, but I've observed this a few times when I've gone on an attraction 2 or 3 times in a row (Haunted Mansion, Buzz). For instance, the cast member who loaded the doom buggies the first time wasn't there the second time; it was someone else. Then the third time it was a different person from the first two. I made the assumption that they were being intentionally rotated to prevent "burn out" but never knew if I was right. Interesting...
