Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

No rides. No Disneyland. For this family at least.

But...seeing things move in the positive direction is so refreshing. Just gotta be patient a little longer.
I feel the same. We have so many Southwest points stored, and contemplated going to DtD and Buena Vista Street for just a day, but decided against it. It would just bum us out to be there without the attractions. Things feel a bit more hopeful now with more news popping up. We are just going to wait it out.

ETA I also like in the press release how food will be served "snack sized" aka "pay full price for half the food you'd normally get"
All the previous food Festivals on both coasts have also been "snack sized" servings because you want to be able to eat a lot of them (and have them fit in your stomach without being uncomfortable) to try a variety. They're not being especially stingy for this event, they've figured out what works for the market of people that come to the festivals, even if that seems like its not large enough for those that don't want to pay those prices, as long as there is enough that do, they'll keep charging that much.

when $75 gets you a touch of disney, one wonders what the cost of a full bear hug of Disney with rides and entertainment will be. Probably not the $150 for one park we were accustomed to!

We also have no idea on prices. Who knows how far that $25 will go.

That's for the larger entree level plated too. They had plenty of lower prices morsels and I like the credit idea over the tabs imho. Allows getting a Dole whip without hassle. I would imagine the card being a Disney Parks cash card that's coded for food and drink only (no merch).

I highly doubt they'll allow people to sit/lounge in the Grand Californian, even with a drink purchase. One of the hotels near us, which we love to go and stay at for a weekend staycation, does not allow people to sit in their lobby since they've opened back up. They have the furniture there and fireplace going but signs attached to each chair stating it is not available for seating due to COVID. I'm sure it'll be similar with GCH.

I can't even sit inside waiting rooms at my doctor and dentist offices here. You have to wait in the car until it's your turn.

Washington? That's where I am and we have to wait too, at least at the doctor's and dentists we see.

There are rumors that Newsom will unveil new theme park guidelines during his press conference tomorrow.

Stand by everyone!

By the way, OC numbers have come WAY down over the last week. We are VERY close to Red Tier. Tomorrow we should hit the metrics required to begin the 2 week wait.

Here we go again.

I’m crossing my fingers that he decides to let them open in purple tier lol. Not likely, but I can dream right ?! 😅

Hey, he might surprise us- never know! There's a lot of political motivation to change his reopening plans. Can't say much more on DIS without talking politics but I'm sure we all know what I'm referring to.

Theme parks should just be exempt from the tiers.

So far today, it was a school tour. Supposedly, he took some school reopening questions from reporters. Universal Studios Hollywood keeps making cryptic tweets that seem to suggest something may be announced soon so I am hopeful for theme park reopening news. Time will tell...
