Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Side thought: please tell me I'm not the only one who reads "Manteca" and gets the "Manteca Water Slides!" jingle briefly stuck in their head :rotfl:

That is very interesting if the Anaheim location is opening October 1 (or at least aiming for it). It does seem to be a good omen that DLR can't be too far behind. I will say I'm being cautiously optimistic because I do find it also telling that it's only in a side comment on a social media post. There is not an official announcement I can find so they don't seem to be wanting to make a big public announcement yet.

I'm guessing GWL is banking on OC going to orange by October 1. It makes sense when you look at the fact they are aiming for October 28 for Manteca which is in a currently purple county (San Joaquin) that still has to get to red and do their time there before moving to orange. And in orange, indoor pools are allowed to reopen with modifications. I wouldn't say they count as a theme park? But they are possibly a grey area like many entertainment venues in Cali. GWL reopening dates might mean nothing in terms of DLR, but it does give hope.

Welcome to cancellation Thursday... We’re on watch today to see if Disney proceeds with weekly hotel cancellations through 9/26.

annnnnnd news sites are reporting that they have sent the cancellations this morning through Sept 26.

I will say, booking websites are still allowing for reservations starting Oct 1, so that didn’t get pushed today.

Is anyone else having trouble juggling all of the new bookings "just in case," changes to reservations, travel details, etc?? I'm not the most organized person in the world in spite of trying hard; it's just not my personality. I have all these sticky notes and a little binder but I've changed dates, flights, hotels, etc so often that I'm not sure what the heck I've got!
OMG -- I'm right there with you! I have so many "just in case" bookings it's making my head hurt. I've also cancelled some bookings that now I wish I didn't cancel. Crazy.

Since CL was pulled from booking if you rebook a CL room you have to pick a non-CL room. They adjusted the price accordingly (which makes sense since you can literally book a normal room online yourself but WDW tried pulling a lot of nonsense in that area for CL bookings so I’m glad DLR isn’t).

Another incident of DVC VGC cancelling further out than the official date given in DLR hotel cancellation emails, their check in was 9/27. Link

When I looked this AM my reservation for 9/25 - 9/28 was in the system. Later this AM it is now cancelled. Up next Columbus Day weekend.

10/9 - 10/13
Mine, too. Now to decide what/when to rebook.

I'm trying to decide what to do with mine. I have the Fairy Tale Suite booked in Dec. It's a very special trip for my sister and me, but a huge part of the experience for us was being next door to the CL. I asked a CM on the phone a couple of days ago what kind of compensation there might be if the lounge is closed, and she didn't know, so I booked a standard room at GCH just in case they charge us the full rate without the perks. We have done a sister Christmas trip to DLR every year for many years, and this year was meant to be an extra splurge, but I'll be happy if we just get to have some kind of DLR Christmas trip. We can save the splurge for another time, assuming we can afford it later!

But these multiple "if we need it" reservations are killing me with 1-night charges.
