Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Sigh...so this was just posted. It's for LA County (Universal Studios) but might be a template for Orange County.
LA County has shown a strong tendency towards more strict than the state requires. I really don't see Orange following them. Especially since Orange County leaders are- well we don't do politics here so lets settle on OC is VERY different than LA County.

Just got off the phone with Disneyland reservations. The rebooking discount is now good through 10/3. I believe it was previously 9/30.
We've heard that end date before so it is not a change. People/CMs would commonly say through end of Sept but we had reports early on when it was first offered of folks able to book through 10/3.

Can I ask where you stayed? And was it quiet? Thanks!
We were at the Worldmark Anaheim. Its a lovely property and I had points that needed to be burned from cancelled spring trips. The resort was about half full, judging from the lit up windows we could see at night. On previous trips it has been booked solid.

It was not noisy, but I don't know if I'd call it quiet either. The family at the end of the hall from our room had loud-ish kids, but we had 3 teens in our party who can be boisterous when they play games, too.

Thank you! Good to know =) Thinking about another trip to DTD...:goodvibes

Someone shared a photo on Twitter that showed new Health and Safety Reminder signs placed VERY close to the entrance gates. Hmm....
It’s really curious. I understand installing plastic shields and stuff just to be ready for the eventual opening, but actually putting portable signs out in the esplanade… What purpose will that serve if they aren’t going to open potentially for weeks. That’s the kind of thing you’d think they’d do when they are a few days away from reopening.

I would be shocked if there was a surprise announcement that the parks will be open this weekend, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is very short notice between the announcement and reopening, because lack of time to plan might help prevent a crush of people all showing up right at open.

I think someone theorized that it was due to guests removing masks to take pics in front of DL or DCA. The pessimist in me thinks that might be the reason.

The optimist in me is leaning towards state officials visiting to see for themselves the newly implemented safety measures. They would want the park to be situated exactly as it will be when guests are able to enter. I wouldn't be surprised if this was part of the back-and-forth that DL is having with the governor.

I was totally thinking the same thing. But then how will they get cast back that quickly?

The only other plausible explanation is that people are going up to the gates and taking their masks off, for photos. Maybe the signs are to discourage that behavior so that people don't get complacent.
