Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

I'm not sure if it's been asked before, but do we think Disneyland is going to do EMH when they open? I'm guessing no, but hoping for yes since January (hopefully) will be our first on-site trip.

I was thinking the same thing about a visit from officials. There was one photo that showed a rope blocking off the entire gate area where the temporary signs were. That implies to me they want to keep spectators back and allow others in the area with the signs.

Another idea (could be both) is they are shooting promo/safety footage to prepare for the announcement when the time comes. I recall seeing videos like this for the other parks.

Either way, I'm surprised there wasn't more attention on those photos.

I would be shocked if there was a surprise announcement that the parks will be open this weekend, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is very short notice between the announcement and reopening, because lack of time to plan might help prevent a crush of people all showing up right at open.
I think we would have 10-14 days of notice even if no actual announcement from Disney. There’s no way they could hide the CM call backs (too many leakers).

That’s actually the way it’s been all along, with ropes blocking off actual gates (basically you can’t go past the Monorail beams). Disneyland gates are short enough that an athletic person, with enough momentum, would be able to scale them pretty quickly and get into the park even with security patrolling the area constantly. DCA though has gates which go up almost to the ceiling, so they aren’t roped off, just locked gates. (Also, DCA doesn’t have convenient planters in front of the gates so any barriers would be “ugly” and too obvious by Disney standards.)

If WDW is used as the yardstick to measure against, then I'd probably guess no. However, staying on site would likely guarantee you to get a park reservation for each of the days of your stay. Therefore, if you do a 1-night stay, then you'd be able to get 2 park reservations.

One should also expect no park hopping for the time being. WDW isn't doing park hopping yet.

Maybe I just have the grumps from cancelling our December trip yesterday but why share this if you haven’t even opened up 2021 hotel reservations yet? Killing me here Disney!

Ok.

1-WDW 2021 planning as done as it can be, spreadsheet, word doc, budget, ressies, etc

2-Yellowstone 2021 ditto

3-DL 'whenever' ditto ditto

Drums fingertips on table. OK, 'Travel Industry' now what do I do?

Sigh...so this was just posted. It's for LA County (Universal Studios) but might be a template for Orange County.
This has now been changed to “not recommended” in regards to trick or treating. Still don’t think LA county operations will impact OC, but stranger things have happened..

We already know Oogie Boogie Bash is cancelled 😔😭 So if Disney is open at all for the Halloween season I could see them doing specialty foods. And maybe they will allow guests who attend the park on Halloween to wear costumes like what WDW is doing.

I heard this too! Where is this comment exactly?
If you have Instagram, type in great wolf lodge and their most recent post, scroll down on the comments and they are replying to a commenter saying their Anaheim resort is planning to open October 1. Manteca (up north) October 28.
Wonder if theme parks and water parks will get the green light for October ? 🤔

I just saw a comment on IG from Great Wolf Lodge that they are planning to open the Anahiem location October 1st!

OMG. This might be something, guys.

I wonder if it is just the hotel and not the water park opening... Or just that tiny outdoor pool area. I can’t imagine that indoor water park being allowed to open at the same time as outdoor theme park areas, if Disneyland is indeed opening on 10/1. Who knows, though. It’s been a year of surprises.

I don't know...I feel like GWL is probably more safe than a theme park at this point. What with all the chlorine hanging in the air and the water. Coronavirus probably doesn't stand a chance in there.

I was wondering the same thing. What are the guidelines for water parks?

So they do count as theme parks? Regardless of size? Just checking.

I don't know if GWL counts as a theme park or not. But if indoor swimming isn't allowed then an indoor water park certainly wouldn't be allowed. Also of NOTE is Family Fun Centers are only allowed OUTDOORS also. So at this point all entertainment venues (other than movie theaters) seem to have to be outdoors. - this is not true, as museums, aquariums, zoos can have limited indoor.

Indoor playgrounds are also specifically closed.
