Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Is this a recent survey? My pass is technically expired, so I think that is why I haven't gotten any emails.

Yes, I just received it yesterday!😅 My AP is set to expire in a couple weeks. Never did I think DLR would still be closed when my original expiration date came to pass! 😲Hopefully any extension will be worth it for Signature Plus APs...I definitely tried to convey that sentiment through the survey!

Anyone care to share what type of questions were on the survey?
They ask you various questions starting with how often you used to visit the park, whether or not you are an AP holder, what are your thoughts about being an AP holder (pre-Covid). Then they go into your likelihood to travel/ go out right now, if DLR were to open would you go and how often, also asking how likely you are to keep your AP with restrictions, how comfortable you are with proposed cleaning and social distancing/ mask guidelines at Disneyland, and then the remaining questions focus on if you will keep your AP given the upcoming restrictions (limited capacity, mask mandate, social distancing, certain activities not available, etc.) upon reopening. Pretty thorough actually.

I saw a screenshot somewhere else at the end of the survey that was soliciting folks for a two hour online focus group about DLR APs. Dates were 9/14-18, 9/21-22. If they are chosen they also get $125 in compensation.

I wish I could make $62.50/hr to give Disney my opinion 😂

I hope so, too. Our Signature Plus APs expired during the shut down--we were supposed to have used them on trip. I actually just snagged a room at the villas for mid-October in the event Disneyland does open up. I'm not optimistic, but I want to use those passes one more time! I also have Dapper Days in the back of my mind if things open up. Good news up north ... Alameda County is being permitted to allow outside haircuts, etc. We've been the most closed down of all the counties in CA--we haven't moved beyond early stage 2 so this is good news.

You might get a survey based on one of your visits to DTD. I got one with questions very similar to those described below after my most recent DTD visit. No mention of any focus group at the end, though, as mentioned by a pp.

Hopefully that VGC reservation will come in clutch if onsite does indeed give priority to admittance! I’m still pretty optimistic about a not-too-distant opening, but I did recently start to feel a bit nervous about my annual February VGC getaway. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thank you for this suggestion. Those dates would work for us. I’ll definitely look into it!

Sign up at the Dapper Days website. The link to the hotel ressies and tickets is thru the email they will send to you. Also in the email is a link to all the cool stuff they sell. I love all of the pins! I hope you are able to make a trip happen at this time. Dapper Days is awesome. It is the time I get a family picture of us dressed nicely AND smiling! Wish we could be there this year.
Wishing you lots of pixie dust and the best trip of 2020!

I hope so, too. We had two trips canceled already thanks to Covid :( We've owned there since the beginning and go a few times a year.

Does it seem like off site hotel prices are creeping up? From a couple weeks ago Sept seems to be up a touch on what I’m watching while Oct took a big jump.

(I don’t believe they “know something” I’m thinking they want prices up just in case there is good news this week.)

Hmmm I've had an offsite reservation for a few months now for early October... you prompted me to go take a look and THAT rate has gone way DOWN! So thanks for potentially saving me $150!!!!! (Assuming we even get to go, of course...)

Hmmm🤔, reservation system here to stay?? As a distance traveler, I do not mind that idea at all.

I know some, or maybe even most people may like the reservation system since it makes crowds lighter at the parks. For me personally it’s not good at all. I get using it during a pandemic cause they really have to limit crowds for everyone’s safety. But I hope that at some point when Covid is over, they get back to having at least one pass that allows you to visit whenever you want. As a local part of the fun is the spontaneity of a Disney parks visit. Whether that means stopping by the parks after work or just having the ability to hop from one park to another. At Disneyland and WDW the parks experience would be greatly diminished if they keep the current system in place for good. Of course that’s just my opinion.

I agree with you completely! I have liked deciding to pop over after dinner for a ride or to buy something. I do not plan my visits too far in advance. Plus, WDW is only allowing 3 reservations at a time. And some days are blocked out weeks in advance. I often decide to go day of or 2-3 days before, and fear I will always be locked out. And with so many more locals, I think this may be quite problematic and we will have to plan 3-4 (or more) weeks in advance. Plus, I already feel like my Premier pass is being reduced to a flex pass at best.
