Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Yes but that case count is over twice the 100 per 100k case count at 211. So I would say they are pretty far off from getting off the Watch List.
OC was there I want to say around 10 days ago so LA is on its way down. And our hospitalization for tomorrow’s county report are going to be at their lowest since early April for both regular and ICU beds.

Agreed on all points. However, the jerky people simply won't stop being jerky. Because, in their minds, they're swimming in the right direction and the other 90% of people who are swimming counter to them are stupid and simply in their way. Ask any CM at DL: they'll tell you that about 85% of the guests are nice/kind and the remaining 15% are difficult or simply outright nasty and entitled. That percentage will always be a burden to the good people of the world
Sadly truer words have never been spoken. Always remember he nice/kind people can and do make a difference. I had to visit our local emergency room about a month ago and when I was finished i said to the nurse "thank you for being here and doing what you are doing during these difficult times", she seemed genuinely surprised by my statement and pleased by it. so I do honestly believe that a very kind words and a Thank you to people help to temper the jerks out there.

It's down to 204 now, I have a feeling that at/or around Labor Day LA should hopefully be off the watchlist. Latest hospital updates have 1,200 confirmed cases in the hospitals (this includes ICU), numbers that haven't been seen since basically the start of all of this back at the end of March.

If the average keeps going down at the same rate it is possible. The unfortunate thing is in fact Labor Day and people who will want to their traditional “end of summer” BBQ’s and get togethers causing a spike in new cases by Mid-September. But who knows maybe people have finally learned their lesson about get togethers.

This sounds interesting! I attempted to make a reservation but the latest time is 4pm. I can’t make it until after 5:30 if I do a weekday.

It seems to be just for LE pins. The rest of the merch is available at WoD. Unless you are after these specific pins, no point in making a reservation.

I guess they want to keep those crowds away from WoD and the Pin Station.

Hmmm I wonder if they would put the main attraction pins in there 🤔 they removed them right be DTD first opened to avoid crowds. Now I wonder if they will put them out but with reservations in place?

My guess is they will probably move all that special merchandise here eventually. These reservations also only allow ONE person per reservation. So, it's definitely a crowd control tactic.

Hope they do. I have been stalking the site for the main attraction stuff so if they do end up putting it in there, I will make a reservation. :)

So Disney just called me about our September reservation. I think it’s really crappy that they won’t let you transfer the promotion after 9/30. I guarantee that if they open November 1, everyone who has already booked a trip for November 1 and beyond will get priority ticket reservations, and they’ll freeze all new reservations. They told me I could modify at rack rate..... the charge for Grand Californian to modify was almost 40% more and then they wanted to charge my cc today for the difference. Sorry Disneyland, I’m not giving you anymore of my money. If they’d allowed me to move over the promotional rate, I would’ve and I would’ve added days.

I think the way they’ve handled this hasn’t been ideal. They should cancel all reservations through 2020 and give everyone a level playing field once they reopen. But I guess they really need those deposits to keep afloat. 🙄

Sorry you lost your trip, it’s definitely crappy that they won’t extend that discount.

But I wonder if those who won't comply are expecting that the old adage of "the customer is always right" will protect them from consequences? If forced removal was the consequence for non-compliance that may change the behavior (but probably not the attitude).

I totally agree that a kind word expressing appreciation and even understanding of the other person's challenges can go a long way to make their day and could even result in reciprocal kindness. I remember a time at an airline checkin where my bag was 2 pounds over the limit (50 pounds). The previous customers were expressing frustration about some issue with the flight (don't remember what it was). The poor customer service person had no control over that but had to be the punching bag for those angry customers. When I got to her I expressed how hard it must be to cope with all that. She weighed my bag and let me know it was over weight. Then smiled and tagged it and put it on the conveyor.

That stinks. They really should honor the price you booked at for a rebooking anytime in 2020, IMO.

They must feel confident about being open by 9/30, though, to enforce that policy.

Who knows?

Aurora, have you looked into booking through Dapper Day? They have really good rates and they're fully refundable now. It's the weekend of Nov 14-15 but they extend out the discount several days on either end, though your reservation has to include at least one of the weekend days. If you do this, it's only fair to purchase a ticket to their dapper day marketplace, which will be outdoors this year. Not sure of the cost but it's generally around $15-20. Check out their website for more info as everything is so different this year that I'm not sure how it's going to work. You can see the hotel rates which range from 299 PPH, 329 DLH, and to 389 GCH. The Dapper Day stuff is at DLH. https://dapperday.com/fall-2020-dis...DAY Fall Outing to,dress uniforms if you like.

Perhaps. I suspect we'll get some measure of that in coming weeks.

Really sorry to hear this. I'm very surprised that they aren't extended discounts. Seems short-sighted and punitive for people that have given them interest free loans for weeks/months!

Thank you for this suggestion. Those dates would work for us. I’ll definitely look into it!
