Disneyland mental disorder

There are always threads on here about how much we miss, think about... obsess about Disneyland. It's a general consensus that we have an emotional "disorder".
I'm talking about those of us that have to fight back tears when looking at pictures of Disneyland, plan our next trip to Disneyland on the way home from the last one, smell certain things that make us mentally drift off to New Orleans Square, wake up from a Disneyland dream and think "damn I have to go to work today".... the list is quite long.

We counsel each other daily... so lets name it!

What do you think we should name our disorder?

I'll start with Disney blues , but I know there are some people with better ideas than that. Lets hear them....

I started a thread similar to this a few days ago. Except, I feel like I have an even more severe case of whatever this is. I called it the post Disneyland Blues Syndrome. But, mine has already started! We don't go til July and I'm already feeling sad for when it's over! It's nuts! I need help. :)

Hahaha...
I posted one a few months ago, too. Then noticed there is a new one at least once a week. Your thread is what made me think we needed to name this.

I will be at DL tomorrow and I am already dreading the ride home on Wednesday.

Any ideas for an "official" name? Anyone know if a psychiatrist already has a name coined?

I don't call it a "disorder". I have a "special ability" to "see" Disney in everyday life. :rotfl:

However, in 2008 I discovered a new law of nature called "The Disneyland Snowball Effect" and posted about it. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1883560&highlight=disneyland+snowball+effect
Needless to say, by this time my snowball is now the size of a house as we now go every summer for more and more days. This summer will be 7 days.

If it may be considered that, then does that mean that we can all ask for the infamous GAC?

;)

~~ I love you Phil and you will forever be with me! Forever my very best and most special friend! I love you to no end. ~~

LOL I like that, a special ability to see Disney in everyday life! I hate to call it a disorder because that implies it's something negative. But it's borderline obsession in my case LOL. I think it's because in real life bad things happen. Everyday life is mundane sometimes. But in Disney, anything can happen! Kids grow up so fast, and if there's anyway they can hold on to their innocence a bit longer it's magical. :)

As for an official name to call it? I don't know, how about something like "Seeing Magic In Life Everyday" SMILE???

This is so true! Everyday life can be very mundane. It's busy and hectic, but not always "magical." I fell in love with DLR on our first family trip. I enjoyed my children so much! I was recently talking to my husband's secretary about our upcoming trip. (It somehow comes up in EVERY conversation I'm in :)) She asked me if my ds15 even wanted to go. I'm sure I looked at her like she had two heads. I was like, why wouldn't he want to go? And she said it seems like teenagers don't want to be around their parents. I told her well, my kids want to be around us. They can't wait to go. We had such a "magical" time, it's no wonder I'm completely obsessed!!! Who doesn't want to experience that as often as possible.

My name is Pre-Post-Disneyland Blues Syndrome. Because I'm sad knowing my trip will end and when it actually ends. Ridiculous, I know!

DH and I kept trying to shoo our teen boys off to go do some stuff on their own and they said they wanted to stay with us because we knew the best times to go on different rides. :)

:cutie: Like "The kids and I had a case of the SMILEs yesterday when we noticed we all walked out the door in Mickey shirts, hats and shoes." This actually did happen yesterday when we were getting ready to leave the house for a school function! :rotfl:

Or my DH today going to the store in a mickey hat, Captain Hook shirt in our van with a Minnie antenna topper, Mickey Bar air freshener and stick figure family on the back with the mickey hats. :groom:

I may or may not have referred to myself as having DCD - Disney Compulsive Disorder - once or twice. :goodvibes
