Disneyland Map Poster

This is the map that is hanging on my wall. It is one of my prized posessions ;) You'll notice it is a little different than the one offered on ebay. This version is numbered (something out of 500 or 5000 I forget, the number is covered by the matte). The emblem on the bottom right is metallic gold rather than the colored logo on the souvenir version offered up in most stores. No creases! It is on a lot heavier stock. It would be real difficult to fold these. I had it custom framed because I didn't like the stock frame they were offering in the gallery.

That is a lithograph. They only sold them a a couple of places for the 50th. On July 17th,2005, they were numbered from 1 to 2005 (coinciding with the year of the 50th anniversary). I don't know if they made more at a later date. The one we got is 17 of 2005 (matches date of anniversary July 17, 2005). Ours is framed and has a place of honor in our livingroom.

They have the folded maps at the gift shop across from the Jungle Cruise, the Adventureland Bazaar. They always have them there and had them last month :) Just ask them to point you in the direction, but they're usually near the large elephant pressed penny station :) to the left of it when you enter the store.

We bought the folded one a few years back and it stayed folded in a drawer until we found out we were having a baby. :yay: We did his room in Disney and have the map framed on one wall. You really don't notice the creases and we didn't pay to have anything special done to frame it, just bought a frame and did it ourselves. We did open it and leave it unfolded on the kitchen table for a couple days to kind of "relax" before putting it in. I'm so glad we put it in there! It's right over our son's changing table and he loves when we are done changing him and stand him up to face it, he pokes all the characters! SO CUTE!

I'm going to check out the bazaar. I was at Disneyland on Saturday, and the only poster maps they had were the ones sold in the Disneyana store, and those were from 1958. I didn't see any at California Adventure.

I just asked about the maps and was told everyone is totally out and they are working on a new updated one. The CM did say you could still print your own but I did not want to walk over tonight. If anyone does find them in the park please post.

Just curious, it's been over 10 years since I was last in the park but when I was, they gave you a folding map upon park entry, as I recall. Is that no longer the case?

They do give you the fold-out maps with tips for the parks. Each park has its own map. There is also another paper with the schedule of shows, fireworks, parades, etc. Both parks are on that paper.

The maps we are talking about in this thread fold out to be quite big "poster sized."

Do you happen to know the value of just this Lithograph? The LE size is 2005 (the year of the 50th Anniversary. I have #18/2005 also with the Gold Foil Embossing. It's Beautiful! If I remember correctly this was an item which was only available to Annual Passholders to purchase. It seems as though it is very rare. What would you value yours which is framed? Just signed onto the site, trying to find out information on values of different collectables. Anyone have any ideas? CrazyDuck....kudos on the frame job. Looks close to how Disney frames their items.

Well....I have the one right after you....#18. Any idea of the value of these VERY RARE treasures? I haven't framed mine....12 years it is still in original cylinder tube it came in.

I am in the collectable business, though I do not sell Disneyland item. I found it intriguing, that of the 2005 copies, that not one has surfaced, so did some research and I can give you a ball park.

1st, the rarest of the maps are the works of Shag, they are listed at $1,000
2nd a limited framed litho, with 18kt gold pin has not sold for $300.00
3rd, it is hard to believe that not one AP has not offered their map for sale
4th, nothing is rare if it is offered as a collectable
5th, a pre opening brochure sold for 300.00

bu to counter that, all of the above were made available to the public and maybe the public selling the above don't have the love that AP have to hold on to the map.

the problem I have with maps offered on ebay, is that none of them mention the edition or the gold foil, but ebay listings have very little information about their product.

so my research , is that the ebay offerings at 95.00 are the limited map and that any high value of your map is not going to exceed the 18kt gold pin

Does anyone know if they still make these posters? I mean the "latest" one I've seen is the 50th anniversary one :/
