Wow! They better be keeping all the good stuff under wraps for all you Halloween runners, otherwise that's just kinda pathetic.

I would love to meet up with over dis ers, like we do at marathon weekend. Anyone else? Hopefully there would be somewhere in downtown Disney that might work? Friday maybe? I'm not too familiar with the area but sadly trader Sam's seems hard to get a reservation....

A few years ago we used the outdoor patio at Tortilla Joe's, but that has sadly closed. There's a nice big patio seating area outside the LaBrea Bakery, which is the first thing on the left side as you walk away from the parks and toward DL hotel. I won't be there, but just a suggestion.

I like the ears but will likely save my shopping for merch in the park. I won’t get to the expo until Saturday anyway so I’m guessing most of the popular stuff will be gone.

I find it interesting that they're clearly going for the poison apple from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs without the Evil Queen/Old Hag being tied to race weekend.

This is actually currently Earl of Sandwich (and allegedly set to become Porto’s). It could definitely work as a meetup spot unless it’s blazing hot again this year Parkside Market has a decent indoor seating area depending on how many disers are available to meet up! I’d be down to meet up, but Friday we’ll be back home (locals) for part of the time after the 5K for school/work. We can certainly plan something if there’s interest!

I'm flying in Saturday morning and heading straight to expo from Orange County. Going to parks Sunday and Monday.

Got lucky and am staying at the Anaheim Hotel which is right where it starts.

Agree, it feels phoned in. It's like they had an alternate/rejected design from the other Halloween merch and just decided to use it for this.

I did the tour a few years ago and it was SO good! You will love it.

Updated VQ info for DL!

The highlights are:

VQ goes live at 7am.

Separate VQs for the expo and the Brooks shoes--can join both, but must be joined in separate selections

Limit of 4 people per VQ group.

1 QR code for the entire party (is this new?)

Can only join each VQ 1x per day.

90min limit from VQ push notification to check in.

90mi radius (approximately) for joining the VQ

No shoe returns or exchanges will be allowed on day 1.

I wasn’t at DL for Halloween races last year, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed there won’t be a heat wave.

It did have the advantage of suppressing the crowds in the parks after the race quite a bit. But still I will be quite happy if it's not over 100 degrees each day.

Yeah. My issue too is that usually race weekend merchandise ties in to each of the 3 races. This one isn't even tied into to any of the 3 races. Race weekend merchandise should celebrate the races themselves. This feels like it would be for sale in any of the stores at the resort.

Man, with the Disneyland races going on hiatus, again, after January, they really are just trying to do the bare minimum here, aren't they?

Don't know if this has been brought up before; do DL runs let you go on any of the rides during the run? When I did the marathon a few years ago, we could go on Tower of Terror, and Everest. Those are the only ones I saw people breaking off onto the rides. Plus I ran into another runner at the airport who was one of the people who did it.

I was bummed to see what they're offering. Was hoping to get some neat swag like my magnet I have from the WDW marathon.

No, you're well out of the parks before they open and any rides are functioning.

They may have rides running as runners go by, but runners will not be able to actually go on the ride. On one occasion, pirates had boarded King Arthur Carousel and were encouraging runners as we went by.
