Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend 2024

I don't have POT for this race - how much later does the last corral start typically? To clarify, in 2017 did they shorten the route by cutting out Angel Stadium?

On a different note the running guide is unclear - if we're taking rideshare in what's the best place for drop-off on race day?

Yeah like I said above. Once they made the choice they started turning runners away from it entirely and making them go across the parking lot. I’m not sure how much that cut but it was enough to satisfy medical I guess.

And I can’t answer that because I can’t rideshare with my cycle so I’ll let someone else handle that.

Oof. I registered for the Challenge after the POT deadline (early March), but still super early so I didn't realize that it was after the POT until it wouldn't let me edit my registration and even though I emailed same day rundisney wouldn't accept my POT.

Got assigned 234xx. I suspect I'm going to be pretty frustrated at various points.

Less than a week until race time! For packet pick-up, it mentions "Your Expo Check-in Pass is required to pick up your bib for each event in which you are participating." Likewise, it says to show your check-in pass to get $10 parking for the expo. Did we get the expo check-in pass somewhere? Just searched my email and couldn't find anything.

Will be curious to see how Halloween goes. I’m in regardless. But will be interesting to see how they shift things. Especially since they’re expecting a hot one

Though I did not run in 2013, that weekend was in the 110s the entire weekend and all races happened. I did not hear of any black flag conditions that weekend.

I wonder how course cutting would work for the half, since a lot of it’s out on city streets and only certain ones are closed

Maybe I'm far too optimistic, but I hope that with temperatures in the low 100s to high 90s, it will not be sufficiently scorching to cut the course.

Course shortening could happen. It happened at 2017 DL 1/2 and 2020 WDW Marathon. Usually in my experience with races that do this it’s usually medical making the call.

It’s unlikely we’ll get a full black flag.

The weather forecast has ended my possible plans to run in character inspired running shirts and just switch over to my best hot weather tech shirts, which have served me well in the 2019 WDW Marathon and the course shortened 2020 WDW Marathon.

I have zero goals or expectations for the weekend. I was rear ended in a car accident in May and haven’t been able to run much. I ran 9 miles last weekend and felt good. I was able to ride my horses this weekend too. Things seem to finally be moving in the right direction

I can’t find exact specifics but my watch that year recorded a temp of 83. Whether that was at the start or finish idk but I think it was early on because I’m pretty sure it hit 90s before the race finished.

Did not know 2013 was that hot and I ran in it

So bummed by the forecast We’re local and have actually been having almost fall-like (for SoCal) weather lately. It’ll still be a super fun weekend to take in all the DLR Halloween festivity splendor! And there are so many fun new treats to sample!
