Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend 2024

I don't know about lives, but I know TheTimTracker is doing the races. I think michaeldoesdis is also.
I'm less concerned with it being an actual live and more just interested in what's there. I know what the WDW ones usually are, but DL is a different ballgame.

Do we know what insta accounts will be doing lives of the merch at DL? I'm less interested in the race-weekend-specific stuff and more interested in what the generic rD stuff will look like (and if they are doing a collab with Lug again this year.)

I feel like noolrunnings(?) has pretty consistently posted on opening expo day, and he most certainly did for the DLR races this past January.

I am curious to see just how much they embrace the theme character wise for the races. I can see them not wanting to use Oogie Boogie Bash exclusive characters for the races, but I'm curious just how into the theme they decide to go character wise.

That said, I hope that Star Wars characters are in Galaxy's Edge and they have characters in Avengers Campus period. Avengers Campus being empty was a big miss during the January races.

I feel like they missed out on quite a few places. I'm definitely waiting to hear about all the changes they hopefully implement from January.

Excessive heat warning just got extended until Saturday.
I think we'll be ok during the races. I live nearby and I'm a morning runner.
All of the races start at 5am, and it's pretty cool at that time.
The temperature doesn't really start to heat up until about 9am. By that time, the 5K and 10K will already be wrapped up.
Some of the half marathon runners will probably catch some of the heat towards the end of their race.
Looking back at my stats from the January half marathon, I was done by 8:30am (I'm a slow jogger, started in corral F). I don't think the heat will have too big of an impact on the athletes during the races.
You'll just need to monitor yourself during the day and make sure you stay hydrated, cuz the parks do get hot!

Does anyone know if it's possible to pick up a challenge bib after the 10k race has already happened? I have run a ton of these races but never come across this situation so not sure how it would work. I have a friend who's supposed to be running the challenge with me but will probably unfortunately not make it to Anaheim before Saturday afternoon due to some unavoidable schedule changes. She would still like to run the half and obviously will miss out on the challenge medal, but can she still run the half? I feel like when visiting the expo in previous run weekends they take down the bib distribution booths for the races that have already happened. I wish I could pick up her bib for her but I know that's not possible. Is it possible to grab a challenge bib on Saturday at the expo? Any help or tips appreciated!

Ironically enough, the event I like the medal most for is the one with the shirt I like the least. Maybe I'll like the merchandise shirts assuming any are still available by the time I get there. I did preorder the pins so at least I'm guaranteed those. Chip and Dale are awesome, so I'm happy they're finally on race medals and such.

I don't see why not. There are going to be runners picking up their half bibs on Saturday anyways. The only thing is that your friend will probably not get the challenge medal on Saturday.

I have no experience with this, but her best bet is probably to head straight for runner relations if the challenge booths aren't open. I don't see any reason why she shouldn't be able to run the half even if she misses the 10K.

Ok great thanks! I didn't think of runner relations, we'll plan to head there if we have trouble. She is definitely not expecting to get a challenge medal running only one race. Hopefully she can run the half, would be such a bummer to miss out on both!

I know in cases where runners doing challenge races were able to pick up their bibs race morning, they still needed to go to the Expo that day to pick up their race shirts.

So hopefully your friend will be able to at least run the half and pick up all 3 shirts.

Also a heads up I discovered today. The DL Hotel no longer drops you straight into DTD. Have a whole new security check area. Which is nice. But now you have to walk a bit more.

I cannot find a list of expo vendors anywhere. It’s probably safe for me to assume that places like Raw Threads will be there right? I wanted to get a themed tank for the race.

RawThreads hasn’t been at the expos since before the closures 😭 they did a few pop ups at Disney world off site hotels when races initially resumed but I don’t think they’ve done those for a few years now either.

Well, it's finally happening! I'm waiting at the airport right now, heading to Long Beach. I'm a little bitter that everyone here is Houston is getting a 'cool' front while we will be baking, but what can you do.

I'm hoping that I'll feel comfortable enough to wear my costume for Jose for the 10k. I'm a little proud of it, so I thought I'd share lol. Most of it is this skirt for his tail feathers. It's made of a lightweight mesh and didn't seem to add a much heat during my practice run.1000007988.jpg

Anyone else staying at DLH?
