Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

I'm also in for Coast to Coast. And I am doing an unofficial Dumbo as I got a 10K bib from Give Kids the World.

In! I'm keeping yours separate as it's not officially a Dumbo registration. But maybe you can find a Dumbo medal somewhere!

I'm also in for Coast to Coast! 5K+Challenge and then Challenge! Better get running...

You weren't on the list, now you are!

I wonder if that will convince them to try opening up more races.

Though, in Disneyland's case, they still need to coordinate things within The City of Anaheim, which makes everything more difficult to plan.
It could. I've heard some think that runDisney has reduced the number of WDW race bibs available post pandemic for reasons ranging from covid exposure to reducing congestion along the course so it's safer for runners.

I also think it's plausible that some of the heavier demand post pandemic is tied to either newer runners who took it up during the pandemic and/or runners who sort of took the experience for granted before the pandemic and want the experience.

Now, I absolutely do think that runDisney will add additional weekends to the west coast if the demand is there. Coast to Coast is a popular draw and I cannot see them holding only one race weekend a year to make Coast to Coast possible. In my specific case, there are certain times of the year when I cannot travel to Disney World, so race weekends held those times will be races I can never run. Which makes my Coast to Coast options somewhat limited. While I've been able to do it twice and am signed up for 71 miles next January, it's also required one race that fits my schedule. And some years that has absolutely not been the case. For instance as much as I love Star Wars, I was only able to run Dark Side weekend at Disney World twice. The other two races did not work with my job and the pandemic took out 2020 and 2021.

DL hotel reservations possibly opening up this Thursday, August 24.
I just called DL hotel reservations to ask about reserving a two bedroom family suite while my group is there for the race, and the reservationist said that while they did have reservations open recently for us racers, they have now closed taking them and that reservations are opening for the 2024 season this coming Thursday, Aug. 24. The lady seemed knowledgeable as I was talking with her....so maybe???? It's getting about time and I've been stalking and waiting.....She also said she wasn't sure if reservations were opening online at midnight or not, but that their reservation phone line opens at 7am pacific time. As a side note I was asking her if she knew if any of the multibedroom family suites were still available or if racers sold them out, and she said that most of the racers were booking the regular rooms and she thought there were still my kind available. She also talked about the dvc rooms also showing up online once the 2024 reservations became available also. So, again....we'll see if she was correct on Thursday!

So with Disneyland packages opening up.... can I add on to my hotel reservations the package? I am think I am might be to do it, right? I would have to cancel the reservation and Paradise hotel is booked.

I'm in the same boat and I am also going to let my TA deal with that tomorrow. I would book separate tickets before I give up my Pixar Place (can we call it that yet? Lol) reservation. I'm hoping my TA can just add tickets and make it a package.

I just saw that the Hyatt House is now taking reservations for the Disneyland race weekend!
If you missed the early wave of bookings, here's your chance at a cheap room! Rates are not much/any higher than typical (at least from what I've paid in the past) so jump on it!

Members rates (free to join) are about $270/night with fees for 1/8-1/15 for two queens. 1/11-1/15 is $292/night with fees which still isn't bad for a holiday + race weekend.

Right now it looks like points bookings are only King room with sofa bed, I see this a lot at this particular hotel where they don't open up non-King rooms for points until closer to the reservation date if there are still rooms available. Points are 12k/night which is a steal for Chase UR transfers for my churning friends, and as a Cat 4, great use of a free night award for cardholders.

I really like the Hyatt House, it comes with free breakfast and the walk isn't too bad, more like 10-15 minutes from the Harbor entrance. Plus Blaze pizza and Starbucks in the building!

And no this isn't an ad  But I know hotel prices have been crazy for the race weekend and this is a great hotel option and I have been stalking the dates for months! Not sure if I will switch from Hojo but I might book a room in case...

Thank you! We love staying at Hyatt house as it’s not too far a walk to harbor entrance and easy parking, with free breakfast. Thanks for the heads up on reservations!

Torn between Home2 Suites around the corner from Harbour (my husband would prefer an inside corridor hotel style, and a free breakfast as it makes his life easier solo parenting) and Fairfield Inn with the 5th night promo. I'll be walking alone before the three races so I'd prefer closer, but I can always do a little warm up run to the esplanade?

You won't be walking alone! Tons of people will be coming from all the hotels in the area. Even if you start out alone, once you step outside you're bound to join lots of foot traffic.
