Can I snag ZoeMakes5's friend's lanyard, please? That is, if its still available!
And I'm ABSOLUTELY OK with the price of the VIP tour.

Okay so I have no idea what I should pack for the trip....It's so weird when we're all traveling I have a huge list of things that we have to have (you know for 3 kids), and this time I am lost as to what I should bring.

Also those of us traveling from the Antelope Valley by train on Thursday. I'm taking the 214 train from Lancaster to Union Station. Then I'm catching the 684 from Union Station to Anaheim. So besides getting to meet each other, I'm thinking we may want to share a cab or 2 (can't remember how many of us there are) to get to the hotel. The yellowcab there has minivans so we may all be able to fit into one of those. So what do you guys think?

How long is that trip going to take you? Is it amtrak or Metrolink?

Metrolink. I believe it's just under 4 hours total (with the layover in between the 2 trains.) But it's cheap and we only have 1 minivan and dh needs that for the kids. I don't mind because it's time just for me. I have a book already to read for the trip.

I didn't realize how long it would take my first time. I went to Ontario and it normally takes like 1hr and 20 minutes but the train took 3 hours! Ugh, we were going crazy. What time would you be leaving?

Ok ladies--going off topic here but I need HELP!

I know a bunch of you are WDW veterans--I am for all intents and purposes taking my first trip to WDW in November (probably taking my Mom if she is physically up for it because I don't think DBF can get away for that long) and have realized that I soon must make ADRs. I haven't even decided yet whether to do the DDP, DDDP, the DDE etc. and haven't even started on WHERE to eat! Right now we will be staying at SSR (although I may try to get into another resort for half the trip just to try something else out).

If we definitely are staying the entire time at SSR I will most likely go with the regular DDP; if we stay at a place that has room service I might go with the Deluxe DDP (because then we can order room service for two credits which would be a good breakfast thing--we could use two credits for one meal since neither one of us can usually finish off one on our own).

I am also confused about the 180 + 10 rule--does it mean that starting at 180 days I can make ADRs for ten days or does it mean I can make ADRs 190 (rather than 180) days prior to our first day? I thought I understood this but now am totally confused!

I would like to do signature dining at least once or twice (can't decide if I want to try for CRT or not) but also (especially if Mom is with me) don't want to overplan because one just can't tell with her sometimes health-wise.

I'm thinking it might be best to make a dinner ADR for each night and wing lunch. Or is that naive? Would it be terrible if I made a lunch and dinner (and maybe some breakfast) ADRs now and canceled them later? I also would like to avoid most buffet meals because I would have to get her meal and then mine. (But I think we are definitely going to have to do Boma since I've heard such great things about it!)

sorry to go off topic but I just started panicking tonight!

Oh and to go back on topic - - I can hear the "booms" from the fireworks at Disneyland right now . . . . . . can't wait till we're all there to see them together! :grouphug: :grouphug: (finale just happened!)

So...we are at 25 confirmed for the VIP tour and I think we might have 3 more: Fairycat (who responded on the thread, but not my pm), MamaKate (who is unable to respond right now) and Mary Jo (who must be ignoring me ;) )

If we have 28, then the price will be $32.15 per person. ($900/28) That is a little more than originally stated. Is everyone okay with that?

Once I am done with the numbers, I will work on the detailing for fireworks and fantasmic viewing.

Ok with me:thumbsup2 Now to hunt around my room for 2.15 US uh will you take a toonie or maybe two loonies rofl And yes that is Our Canadian names for some of our coins :) But do you know why?

Wow, sounds like a terrific trip already!

180 + 10 rule means at 180 days out from the first day of your trip, you can make all of your ADRs for up to 10 days. That way you can do it all in one phone call.

I would make ADRs for all of your TS (table service) meals just to get a spot for yourselves. You can always call back and try to change reservations later if you change your mind about eating at a certain restaurant, but if there isn't any openings left when you call back, you still have your original ADR to fall back on. (Does that make any sense? :goodvibes )

We ate an early breakfast at Boma and really enjoyed it! Hopefully we'll get an opportunity to eat there for dinner when we return with our family in December. I'm pretty sure Boma is on our list, twice (once for breakfast and once for dinner).:rotfl:

DH and I also stayed at SSR last year and thought it was a beautiful resort! Do you know what section you want to stay in?

Good Morning Ladies... I am sad :sad1: I won't be able to go on the Girls Only trip afterall... I had a feeling this would happen, but our specialty dog show is the same weekend and I won't be able to attend both (eventhough they are only a few miles apart)... So while you guys are having a magical time, I will be ringside helping hubby with the dogs and thinking of you at DL :wizard:.

Have a magical time!!!! pixiedust:

Wendy, I'm sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it. Thanks for letting us know and maybe you can join in on the next one! :thumbsup2

Well, our list is dwindling. Sadly though, I knew it would. Things happen. You gain some new ones and lose some of the original ones. What can you do. Well, except keep planning a new trip each year so there is always a next time!! :cool1: ;)

But in the mean time, I thought I'd post this list and I put ?? marks next to those I personally haven't heard from in awhile and I'm not sure if they are coming. :confused3

If anyone has any knowledge of who's still coming and who isn't, let me know.

And if some of you ladies on the list are still coming, and haven't checked in for awhile, stop in and say hi so we know to be on the look out for you! Thanks. :)

*peeks in timidly*
Hi Ladies! I've been lurking in this thread for awhile and I've yet to get up the courage to inquire about the trip. Is it too late to join in? I'm a SoCal resident and AP holder so I wouldn't need lodging, but I'd love to join you all for a few days in the park - I'm thinking Friday and Sunday? I'm quiet and shy, but I LOVE meeting new Disney friends! I'm 21, so I'm on the young end of the spectrum, but I'm fun, I promise!
I'd really love to do the VIP tour, if there's still room. Also - are the T shirts still for sale? This thread is LONG, so I apologize for making you all repeat information!
My name's Kelly, by the way! I'm spending my last semester in college in Los Angeles and I'm spending the fall in WDW doing the College program!

Hi Kelly!

Thought I would say hello from one CP alumni to a future one! You'll have the time of your life! Beware, you just might meet your future dh like I did though! :lmao: You will have so much FUN! Still the best 6 months of my life!

I'll date myself and say I did it when I was 19 during the fall of 93 (fall is the best semester to go because of the holidays!) then returned during summer of 94 and summer of 95 then moved to Orlando permanently with dh until 2000 where we moved back to Phoenix. I know confusing but had so much fun we just couldnt stay away til the humidity finally drove us back west!

Well, haven't told MS where exactly . . . . have heard that Congress Park, Grandstand and Springs are the best--we will be arriving super early (taking a red eye) in the morning. . . . so I'm thinking that if we don't like where they put us we will have an opportunity to say we will wait for somewhere else.

I have reserved two studios because I need my privacy (this is vacation, kwim?) but one needs to be handicapped for my Mom so we may be limited since I would like to be in the same building.

Maybe what I will do is go ahead and make ADRs for all meals and then as time approaches call back and cancel some (especially when we start pinning down which parks we are going to when and which dining plan we are doing). I also would like to spend a day just exploring the various resorts (to get an idea of where to try to stay next time!) which would be a good time to try out resort restaurants (like Narcoosee's (did I spell that right?)) I also need to check the calendar and see if they have scheduled EMHs etc.--although I have heard conflicting things about whether to go on EMH days to a park or not. (I think EMH at Animal Kingdom would be really fun though.)

Now if I could just stop worrying about snakes . . . .silly I know . . . but I saw a picture on another site where there was this GIANT snake at POFQ and it totally freaked me out (I hate snakes) so now I'm worried that I'm going to be encountering snakes at SSR and all of the parks! If so, I won't need to worry about future trips because I'll be dead from a heart attack!

:lmao: I had to chuckle at this because dh is the same way. We lived there for approx 7 years on and off the first 2 and I never saw a snake. I'm not afraid of them but Dh is! He was trimming a palm tree and one flew out at him. He was high up on a ladder and fell off he was so frightened. He claims he never saw one while working on Disney property though. I just told him about the picture of one at POFQ and he looked like this :scared1: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

What am I doing on my day off ... studying.

Califgirl (Chris), Mary Jo, Kelly (Mary Jo's DD) and I will be making our 4th appearance at MouseAdventure as a team this Sunday. We are attempting to better our Top 10 finish. So here I am cramming for our exam. :teacher: Please send some positive energy to the DIS Divas.
