Hey Lesley, what does Mary Jo know that the rest of us don't?![]()
Maybe she will tell you for $32.15.![]()
Okay so I have no idea what I should pack for the trip....It's so weird when we're all traveling I have a huge list of things that we have to have (you know for 3 kids), and this time I am lost as to what I should bring.
Also those of us traveling from the Antelope Valley by train on Thursday. I'm taking the 214 train from Lancaster to Union Station. Then I'm catching the 684 from Union Station to Anaheim. So besides getting to meet each other, I'm thinking we may want to share a cab or 2 (can't remember how many of us there are) to get to the hotel. The yellowcab there has minivans so we may all be able to fit into one of those. So what do you guys think?
Steph
How long is that trip going to take you? Is it amtrak or Metrolink?
Metrolink. I believe it's just under 4 hours total (with the layover in between the 2 trains.) But it's cheap and we only have 1 minivan and dh needs that for the kids. I don't mind because it's time just for me. I have a book already to read for the trip.

So...we are at 25 confirmed for the VIP tour and I think we might have 3 more: Fairycat (who responded on the thread, but not my pm), MamaKate (who is unable to respond right now) and Mary Jo (who must be ignoring me)
If we have 28, then the price will be $32.15 per person. ($900/28) That is a little more than originally stated. Is everyone okay with that?
Once I am done with the numbers, I will work on the detailing for fireworks and fantasmic viewing.
Ok ladies--going off topic here but I need HELP!
I know a bunch of you are WDW veterans--I am for all intents and purposes taking my first trip to WDW in November (probably taking my Mom if she is physically up for it because I don't think DBF can get away for that long) and have realized that I soon must make ADRs. I haven't even decided yet whether to do the DDP, DDDP, the DDE etc. and haven't even started on WHERE to eat! Right now we will be staying at SSR (although I may try to get into another resort for half the trip just to try something else out).
If we definitely are staying the entire time at SSR I will most likely go with the regular DDP; if we stay at a place that has room service I might go with the Deluxe DDP (because then we can order room service for two credits which would be a good breakfast thing--we could use two credits for one meal since neither one of us can usually finish off one on our own).
I am also confused about the 180 + 10 rule--does it mean that starting at 180 days I can make ADRs for ten days or does it mean I can make ADRs 190 (rather than 180) days prior to our first day? I thought I understood this but now am totally confused!
I would like to do signature dining at least once or twice (can't decide if I want to try for CRT or not) but also (especially if Mom is with me) don't want to overplan because one just can't tell with her sometimes health-wise.
I'm thinking it might be best to make a dinner ADR for each night and wing lunch. Or is that naive? Would it be terrible if I made a lunch and dinner (and maybe some breakfast) ADRs now and canceled them later? I also would like to avoid most buffet meals because I would have to get her meal and then mine. (But I think we are definitely going to have to do Boma since I've heard such great things about it!)
*peeks in timidly*
Hi Ladies! I've been lurking in this thread for awhile and I've yet to get up the courage to inquire about the trip. Is it too late to join in? I'm a SoCal resident and AP holder so I wouldn't need lodging, but I'd love to join you all for a few days in the park - I'm thinking Friday and Sunday? I'm quiet and shy, but I LOVE meeting new Disney friends! I'm 21, so I'm on the young end of the spectrum, but I'm fun, I promise!
I'd really love to do the VIP tour, if there's still room. Also - are the T shirts still for sale? This thread is LONG, so I apologize for making you all repeat information!
My name's Kelly, by the way! I'm spending my last semester in college in Los Angeles and I'm spending the fall in WDW doing the College program!
Wow, sounds like a terrific trip already!
180 + 10 rule means at 180 days out from the first day of your trip, you can make all of your ADRs for up to 10 days. That way you can do it all in one phone call.
I would make ADRs for all of your TS (table service) meals just to get a spot for yourselves. You can always call back and try to change reservations later if you change your mind about eating at a certain restaurant, but if there isn't any openings left when you call back, you still have your original ADR to fall back on. (Does that make any sense?)
We ate an early breakfast at Boma and really enjoyed it! Hopefully we'll get an opportunity to eat there for dinner when we return with our family in December. I'm pretty sure Boma is on our list, twice (once for breakfast and once for dinner).![]()
DH and I also stayed at SSR last year and thought it was a beautiful resort! Do you know what section you want to stay in?
Now if I could just stop worrying about snakes . . . .silly I know . . . but I saw a picture on another site where there was this GIANT snake at POFQ and it totally freaked me out (I hate snakes) so now I'm worried that I'm going to be encountering snakes at SSR and all of the parks! If so, I won't need to worry about future trips because I'll be dead from a heart attack!
