Disneyland GC using points?

Taking our first DVC trip as members to GC this Dec and was wondering of anyone has used points for a 1 or 2 bedroom suite at the GC and if so how was it and was it worth the points? (I posted this question in one of the other non-planning forums and did'nt get the answers I was hoping for I thought I'd try it here in the planning forum)

We have not tried the suites there, but have stayed several times, in king bed rooms and also two queen rooms. Both were very nice. We preferred the DTD view over the park view, but once we had a standard view with the monorail passing close by.

We just returned from a June trip. We booked a theme park view with two queen beds. Nice view of the pool and very close to the eateries. We LOVED the hotel and DL/DCA. If it wasn't a 5 1/2 plane ride we'd be back next year.
