Disneyland for WDW Die-Hards

Of course I'm a WDW diehard, but I'm an AP holder at DL as well. Love my visits there and enjoy the subtle differences of the two. Of course DL and CA Adventure are worth the trip.

I'm a long time DLR AP holder and I really don't appreciate being maligned just because I'm lucky enough to get to go to DL a lot. I always try to be polite and helpful to people (as are most AP holders I've come across). I love DL so much I try to share the magic with others. I also have issues with those who think it's a requirement to speak Spanish to go to DL. Obviously it's not. I speak a little (as do many Californians), but it's certainly not a requirement.

Ooops!!! Should have said, "SOME of whom feel they own the park!" I never meant to include ALL passholders in that statement, or to imply that there are THOUSANDS of people everyday who think they own the park (I really hope most readers of this thread understood that). There are, however, just enough of them (who ALWAYS try to squeeze in front of my dd at parades when we have been sitting on the route for a very long time), along with enough unsupervised, bored teenagers who "prank" their way through the parks to help spoil the magic for me, sometimes. I just see a LOT more of this at DL than at WDW.

My major gripe with Disneyland is the lack of sit down restaurants, which greatly enhance my overall vacation experience. I think there is really only one, the Blue Bayou, where there are about 6 at the MK... and so many excellent ones at Epcot. When I'm walking around all day, I want someone to bring me my food and not have the experience of balancing trays and riding herd on the kids while looking for a table. Can you say UN-magical? But that's just me..... I think this is because DL is mainly for daytrippers, who aren't as interested in dining, the look of the hotels, and evenning entertainment as customers in WDW who are staying there for a longer time. My husband says DL is "Six Flags with a Mickey Mouse." I woudln't go that far, but I get his point. When you're at the top of the Mattahorn and look out you see.... urban sprawl. It's too easy to lose the magic, which is not the case at WDW. I know Walt walked there and all that, but didn't he buy half of central Florida to make improvements? That being said, I think there are plenty of unique experiences to be found at DL to make the trip worth your while.
