Disneyland Divas: Working out, getting healthy and thin in 2010!!

I know there's sugar in there.
Get tea bags! No sense getting calories in tea - save them for something more fun I say.

Yes, get your bod to that fabulous gym!

OK, checked.
First ingredient: Zucker
Second ingredient: Traubenzucker

But no calorie info. Does that mean calorie free? ;)

Time to buy some herbal tea bags.

I do pack healthy snacks...but that doesn't stop me from being hungry or being tempted by the unhealthy stuff around...and I am starting to think you are right about the soda...it would be better to drink that then eat the candy. I may go off my no soda pledge....for the sake of my waistline!

SarahMay

P.S. Good luck Jen!

Sarah, I just saw a Simpson's where Homer is at work at the food machines. And he keeps pressing a button to try to get to the one candy bar in there, but it's mostly apples. :rotfl:

Of course you pack good snacks, I shoulda known - how else did you become our weight loss queen here? Really, when I think of how hard it is to lose 20 lousy pounds... and then I gain back some of them...

I was taken out to an Italian dinner tonight - I passed up the pastas and ordered a chicken arugula salad. What helped me was one other person ordered a salad and it inspired me. And I was glad I did. It was really good.

I was not feeling 100%, so did a 1/2 Wii workout of yoga and strength. Nothing like going to the gym, but better than sitting.

It's the start of a new week, ladies! Let's be our best selves!

Hah! So Switzerland is behind us in terms of having to post caloric content info? I love how in Calif the restaurants have to provide this now.

Zucker. And then Traubenzucker. (must mean sugar. And more sugar). :lmao:

So I am proud to say I didn't eat the snickers, but I was so hungry by the time I got to my sil's that I ate 3 pieces of pizza and some icecream...still within my points for the week, but I could have been satisfied with 2 pieces of pizza.

Oh well, such is life.

I did find my second pair of work out pants tonight which is great because I was planning to go buy another pair tomorrow...now I don't have to waste the money!

Talk soon,
SarahMay

So after a couple of weeks of good days/bad days and feeling guilty, I have decided that I really don't need to lose any more weight for now. I am completely out of the "overweight" category on the charts so my new challenge is to figure out how to eat healthy to maintain my current weight. I need to keep my calories down to 1500 per day to maintain my weight (under 1000 to lose weight). I did get to the gym twice last week and plan to go twice this week. Then after a few months I will tackle that last 10-15 pounds, I think it will be easier as summer gets closer.

All the talk about food at Disneyland is driving me crazy and I can't wait!

Bryan just started working at Olive Garden so he has spent some time looking at the caloric count. Fetuccini Alfredo has 1400, so by the time you add salad with dressing and a couple of breadsticks you have yourself a 2000 calorie meal! :scared1: I knew it was bad but never wanted to know the details.

Is it lunchtime yet??? :rolleyes1

I just ate breakfast and I am still hungry.

Oh well, off to do laundry and clean to keep busy, and drink lots of water.

Have a great, healthy week everyone!!!! :cheer2:

Back from DL and I ate, and ate, and ATE! I've got 2 pounds back on me just from the weekend! But I'm still down about 5-6 and can easily make it to 10 before the meet. That's my goal. 15 would have been nice and maybe I can get a little over 10 to make up for what I gain that weekend. Now to get back to drinking my water!!

Day 2 of my visit from Aunt Flo and not a happy camper. Cranky, hungry, cravings, tired, and generally feel icky. I am scheduled to go to the gym after work but I really don't know if I will make it today. I probably will but don't know how hard I will work out. I just want to go grab a deluxe burger and fries somewhere in regular clothes with my dh and no screaming children and no housework to do and no regular work to do with my hair looking decent and not up in a pony tail as it usually is. I would try to make this happen tonight if I didn't have weigh in tomorrow. I may still bake...we will see. Uggg.

Yea on the no candy!
I find it hard to resist overeating if I've let myself get too hungry.

So do you know this book called Eat This Not That? It's helpful. Basically, you could have what you want, you just need to adjust it. how about getting a burger protein style (lettuce instead of the bun), skip the fries? Just a thought.

Hi Beth, Stacie, Karyl!

I feel your pain! That mean old aunt paid me a surprise early visit yesterday, and she came on with a vengence! Luckily, I still have this cold, so I have no appetite. But I just feel yucky.

Hi Ladies! Carly, good for you for beeing at the maintain stage! That is awesome. Sarah, I can't skip my sweets, so I have to just plan them in a way that won't sabotage my weight loss. I usually have a 60 calorie pudding each day. I love the sugar free jello with a smidge of whipcream. I also have just started eating vita tops by vitalicious. Like a brownie, really and just 1 point. Fiber one yogurts are free on weight watchers and the vanilla is yummy and can really get me through the inbetween mealtimes.
Beth, great job getting back on the wagon. Donna, I am so glad that you lie to the driverslicense people too.

Good evening everyone!

I went to my first weight watchers meeting tonight. I signed up for the monthly pass, which is about $40 a month so $10 a week. At first I thought that was a lot of money but I can move things around my budget to fit it in because it is very important to me. I was happy to see that Monday is a busy night at WW so there were a lot of different people there. I arrived and went to the front desk where I paid and *gasp* stepped on the scale! :scared1:

I'm starting out at 269.6 lbs. I wasn't too shocked knowing that my weight during the summer was around 265 and with the unhealthy eating I've been doing the past few weeks I can see why I kept gaining weight. I'm super excited to be starting and I found the meeting so helpful and it's nice to be surrounded by people who are also going through the same thing. I stayed afterward so the speaker could go through the program with me. I told her that my friend, Sarah (yes you Sahbushka!), was the reason I joined WW because she inspired me. She said that you deserve a bravo sticker and I think so, too!

I also purchased the member kit because it has the complete food companion, dining out companion and the 3 month tracking journal.

I came back home so I can get recipes of the WW e-tools for the week before heading to the grocery store.

When finding directions to the closest WW, I found it's only a short 1.3 miles from my dorm. I think for my Monday workouts I'll start by walking to and from my meetings. :thumbsup2

I'm off to go grocery shopping!:woohoo:

Good for you, Cristabel! I bet the pounds will just start melting off of you between now and our trip!

Way to go Cristabel! I am so proud of you! I know you are really going to enjoy it...just remember, it is a life change, not a diet...and on that note...

I went out and had a burger, frys with ranch and icecream. We had a family fun night...its been a hard day and I just couldn't make myself go to the gym. We went out to eat, picked up some icecream at the store, gave the kids baths, ate a small dish of icecream which was shared with the kids and then played a board game (fantasyland game) with my son. It was a really enjoyable evening and I am glad we did it...though a bit nervous for weigh in tomorrow. I know I will show a gain after that meal but I also know it will be off next week when I lose the water weight from my period and don't have that food sitting in my stomach. I also know that this time around I need to show myself that times like this are ok as long as they aren't something that happens every week. The last time I ate like this was new years eve....so over a month ago...and before that was october during my mother in laws bachelorette party. Things happen in life and I am proving to myself that I am able to continue on my journey after the bumps that happen. I don't give up and I don't give in!

Have a great night ladies...don't forget to drink your water and know that tomorrow is fresh with no mistakes in it...well, with no mistakes in it yet! I love Anne of Green Gables!

So I only did half of my shopping because it's getting late and I have to do homework and read for my classes tomorrow. I didn't find any recipes on WW's e-tools that really sounded like "YEAH I want to cook that" aside from turkey sloppy Joes. I did pick up ground turkey, turkey dogs that are 2pts a piece :thumbsup2, tomato and red pepper soup that's 2pts for 1 cup, 2 dozen eggs, frozen veggie fried rice, frozen corn, and two cans of tuna. I'll probably do the rest tomorrow or Wednesday.

The Progresso soups are really good and low in points. Like 1 or 2 and even 0

Yeah Cristabel! I'm so proud of you!! GREAT JOB!!

Here are some things I used to do when I was following WW, especially in the beginning:

1. Get some low/no point filler foods to keep in your dorm that you can go to if you get ravenous. For example, fat free popcorn, zero point soup (you can make this, or get some low point Progresso), fruits and veggies, zero point dressings for salad. In the beginning you may really need to eat more and having this stuff around will help you not to grab something that isn't good for the diet. Set yourself up for success.

2. If you have a sweet tooth, get some low point treats that you can have on hand should you NEED a bit of a treat.

3. Don't expect to make all changes right in the beginning. Just focus on staying in your point range and then you can keep refining things as you get more used to the program.

4. Make yourself a vision board: put a picture of that dress you want to wear, that swimsuit you want to buy. Have something in front of you to remind you why you are doing this program, even when it isn't fun. And write down reasons you're doing this and read them everyday.

Not the fries! :scared1:
Yes, it happens. And yes, you will recover.
Now get out there and exercise and drink your water young lady! :cool1:

I went to the gym yesterday and today. Tomorrow I have my fitness evaluation. Fun. I also got some tea bags instead of that sugar crystal tea I was drinking. I have a lot of tweaks I can make to my diet that will no doubt add up to some weight changes. Hopefully won't be too scary to step on the scale tomorrow as I don't think I will have the same emotional reaction to kilos as to pounds. Oh, please don't have them convert the scale for me. I just don't want to know. :scared1:

And for the QUOTE OF THE DAY
We are all inventors, each sailing out on a voyage of discovery, guided each by a private chart, of which there is no duplicate. The world is all gates, all opportunities.

Happy Tuesday!

I'm excited to see more frequent posts on this thread! :woohoo:

No weight loss for me, but I feel incredible and am still on a high from the 17 pounds that I have lost in the past two months. :goodvibes

Yesterday after my walk, my momma told me she was proud of me for sticking with my workouts and healthy eating. I can't remember the last time anyone told me they were proud of my for anything. So that really made my day.

Have a happy and healthy day! :goodvibes

Hi all! I am happy to say that I am back on track today and feeling good (thanks Cristabel!). I have wi tonight and am fine with that. I feel back in the game mentally so I am really pleased and am looking forward to losing some more weight in the near future!

Take care,
SarahMay

Oh, and I am allowing soda now but only diet and only at work when it is between that and candy. I haven't had one yet.
