Disneyland Divas: Working out, getting healthy and thin in 2010!!

Oh Deb:hug:

I went to my wi tonight and I lost 4 lbs! I get my 75 ticker! Woo Hoo!

SarahMay
I knew you would get there soon! I know you were getting frustrated for awhile but if you just keep at it the loss shows up all of a sudden and makes up for it.

I decided on Thursday that I was going to stick with the plan for the next 5 weeks and get down another 10 pounds before the trip, but I only made it through one day and have not been doing very good since. Tomorrow is another day and another chance to try again, so here goes. And I really need to get back to the gym - I am going to try to make it to the step class on Thursday after work.

I need to buy new work out pants. I had 2 pairs and then 1 accidentally got sent to Valu village (it was my favorite pair, too:sad2:). I work out 5 days a week and sweat a lot so trying to was the same pair every night gets old...even if I wait to do it every other night is still not good...yup deffinitely need to get another pair.

Did a 2.5 mile walk today, wish I could have done more, but I didn't have the time.

It's been a really tough day for me emotionally and now I'm ready to hide under the covers.

I hope everyone had a happy and healthy day. :goodvibes

I've had a yucky day too. In fact, I've been in bed since about 3:00.
The good news is that I have no appetite, so I have that going for me.

Great job! I haven't had a very good week, but I'm trying! Increased my elliptical rider time and my weights so hopefully that will help.

Hi Wendy!! Can't wait to see you in 4 weeks!

Hi Gals! Really great to read about your successes. Both those of you that are losing (yeah Sarah and Wendy!) and those of you that are excercising and getting started. Each step you take is one step closer to your goal, right?

I am slowly losing and am thrilled with that. Working out is getting easier too, and I feel a bit less large. So progress, and I'll take it!:banana:

Beth, don't be hard on your self. Just make a plan and stick to it. I know you can do it! I really can't cut my calories too drastically, or I feel like crap and don't stick to it. I readily take advantage of free foods so that I am not hungry. Here is what I had yesterday.

Bowl of Bran Flakes, nonfat milk

snack: fiberone nonfat yogurt
lunch: Sandwich on "thins" with a tablespoon of nonfat cream cheese and 4 slices of lunchmeat ham, one piece of cheese.

Snack: lowfat cheesestick
fiberone granola bar thing
sugar free jello
baked lays (small bag)
snapple tea sugar free

two glassess of red wine

dinner: ground turkey taco on lowfat wheat tortilla
sweet potato fries

All of this was in the range of 1300-1500 calories, which is a reasonable amount for a person of minimal activity to loose 1-2 pounds a week. My best advice Beth, is to do some menu planning, know what you are going to eat and then stick to it. You can do it!

I don't normally have wine, and seldom potato chips, but it was one of those days.

Nathan is adding smilies for you gals. Have a great day!:)pixiedust::rainbow::yoda::darth:::MickeyMo

Weighed in today, my official "weigh in day", even though I'm TERRIBLE and can't not step on that stupid thing ever time I have to walk by it. It FINALLY decided to move away from 219, thank goodness; it's now at 216.5 :cool1: Eight weeks before I'm 40, 17 pounds to lose by then... not sure I can do it, but I hope so! :thumbsup2

Hi Ladies,

Caught myself a cold here. Hoping that I'm feeling better tomorrow and can go exercise. Today was Thursday, my stay at home and do wash day. Fun fun fun. Did eight loads but somehow didn't get it all done. I'm still behind from Christmas. Hopefully can catch up next week. So interesting....I know.

Congrats to everyone for all your good eating. And food journaling.

Hi wonderful Divas!

I'm feeling much better today, I don't even really remember why I was so boo-hoo, poor me, yesterday. :confused3

I got in a one mile fast walk today. Eating has been on track. Ate a piece of garlic bread last night that I probably shouldn't have, but I'm OK with that. :upsidedow

Great job Darsa! Losing weight is such a incredible feeling.

Yay to Tracey for losing weight too! I'm a sucker for a glass, or two, or three, or four of a good wine. ;)

Big hugs Jen, I hope you feel better soon!

Have a happy and healthy day! Don't forget that yummy water. :goodvibes

The past three days have started out well. I do fine all day. Then around 5:00 I lose all willpower and eat, eat, eat.

So that is my struggle now, to make it through the evenings without emptying out the fridge. But at least I've been doing really well during the day. That's a small start.

Thanks for the encouragement and advice everyone!!! :grouphug:

Hi everyone! I've been away... meaning I had that bad cold and so couldn't exercise for almost a week. I got back into exercising, so that was good. Now I looked at my numbers and I weighed 5 lb. less last July and 10 less last August.

So I made a goal to lose at least 5 lb. by Mar 10. I know that is do-able as it's six weeks away. I would love to lose the whole 10 but am not sure how reasonable that goal is. Maybe I will shoot for 6...?

Beth, I totally identify with the "eating great until evening" thing. You've lost so much, you must have figured out how to beat that! Reach into your bag o' tricks and share some....

Hi to everyone who is on the journey!

Yeah, I know, for some reason it's been a rough road lately. But I don't want to be a downer. It'll happen. The good news is I'm not giving up.

And I noticed on my drivers license from when we first moved here, it lists my weight as 280!!! I'd forgotten I'd been up that high after first moving here in '07.
So no matter what, at 226 at least I have made great leaps and bounds from that weight. I just need to remember that part and not beat myself up so much. :)

Good luck with your goal. I know you can do it!!!! :cheer2:

I got in a one mile fast walk today.

Hey Wendy, when you do a one mile fast walk how long does it take you? I am doing the Disneyland 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles) in September and the minimum pace is a 16 minute mile. I have no idea how fast or slow that is. I haven't started training yet :sad2:, not good I know, but my plan is to start on Monday.

I got out of work really late last night so I didn't go to the gym but I did go dancing - 80's night baby! 2 hours of moderate activity with some good friends! Plus it helped burn off those 2 pieces of WW chocolate peanut butter pie that I had!

Gym is scheduled for today!

My cousin was talking about her and I doing the half marathon too, but to be honest, I don't think I could keep the 16 minute mile pace. It takes me roughly 20 minutes to walk my mile, but I'm also going up hills, so that probably slows me down slightly.

Right now, I would say that there's no way in heck I could do the half marathon, but in 7 months who knows maybe I could. Good luck to you in your training!

Beth, you are a strong, beautiful woman and you CAN fight the cravings. I believe in you!

Donna, I'm glad you're feeling better, welcome back to the thread!

Have a happy and healthy day everyone. :goodvibes

Guess who is down 10 pounds. Me!!!!! I weighed myself this morning, and I am down another pound this week. It seems like a pattern now. One pound per week. I'm hoping to keep it up and be 15 pounds lighter by the time I see you all in 4 weeks!

Wow, that is awesome! And once you get back on track, I'm sure your weight will go down quickly, as it has in the past. What weight do you really want to be at ultimately? How much do you want it? Why do you want it? What work are you willing to put in to get there?

I did the Disneyland 1/2 last year and it was great. If you put in the training, you will have no problem with a 16 minute mile. Are you planning on running? Running/walking? There are some good training programs on the web if you want some pointers. Trick is to stick with the training program day in and day out and you will be amazed at how your body gets stronger and faster. I so wish I could do the race again, but from Switzerland it will be impossible in 2010. I'll be back in 2011!

Congrats!

I wasn't feeling well today and skipped the gym. So I sat on my butt and ate. Oh, and I did make reservations for another DLP vacation for the kids' February break. They get a week off. I was trying to find a sunny, warm place to go in Europe, but was unsuccessful at that (doesn't seem to exist!), so opted for DL. I'll be without DH for half the week since he will be working, so I figured this would be a good kid friendly place. No one knows we're going, but I figure I can tell my Disney enablers on the DIS.
