Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Sure
Seriously, who has fun at the gym?

I swam 30 minutes today.

That's great, Cristabel!!!:yay:

I can't believe it, but I am having fun at the gym. Who woulda thunk it? I'm meeting nice women in the classes and when the endorphins go flying, whee!

I did 30 min of elliptical today and 35 min of machines. And it's 7:30PM and I'm the only one to check in today?

Where is everyone?:confused3

Way to go to those of you kicking butt at the gym! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I had a good food day yesterday. Horrible food day today. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Sure

I have fun at the gym...sometimes. No really. I usually have to push my behind out of the door and force it, but after I get moving, it's fun. Especially if it's a class, then it really is enjoyable. Time to focus on myself and to be free of all my daily stresses.

So I was waiting to post today until I made it to the gym. I didn't get the chance until 8pm at night, after I got the kids in bed. So I did a twenty minute run today and my weights. I'm remaining diligent to the program and hopefully it will pay off!

My eating is not so good. I must throw away the left over Easter candy. Oh...but those robin eggs and chocolate covered malt balls are so good. I won't think about it anymore. Away they must go! Eventually....

No gym today seeing as how I was doing school stuff all day.

Eating has been very good:thumbsup2
About 1600 calories today.

Morning ladies! :hippie:

Did you get in your exercise today?

So here's a CHALLENGE for those who are not yet exercising on a regular basis. Pick an exercise. Try brisk walking if you can't think of anything. Do it for 20 minutes (feel free to do more, but even just twenty is better than nothing). And repeat same exercise, same time of day for next five days. Just work on forming the habit this week and don't worry about whether you like the exercise, whether it's working, whether you can keep this up for the rest of your life, etc -- no thinking involved, just complete the task this week to get the process started.

Challenge is on...JUST DO IT!:woohoo::woohoo:

I completed W7 of the C25K just fine and even ran for 28min. on Sun. which should really have been only 25 min. But yesterday was W8D1 for me and I had a really hard time getting motivated to go out to run so by the time I got out to run it was 6:00pm. I've been running in the mornings or earlier in the day and that seemed to help. So I go out first I realized I had forgotten to do my inhaler so I went back to do it and then I finished my 5 min. warm up walk and started running and I decided to take a different route which was uphill - a slight uphill but uphill and it was difficult. The first 5 min. of running are always my hardest so why I thought I could run uphill I have no idea...to make this long sad story short...I ended up only running 15min. and walking the rest of the way home. I just could not talk myself into continuing. It's so frustrating how can I do 28 min one day and not even make it 15 min. without struggling the next!! I'll go out again either today or tomorrow to do W8D1 - I've been here and I know I can do it. I ran 25 min. all last week without any problems so what is adding 3 more minutes??? Geeze it's such a mental thing this running!!

Congrats on getting that run in! :cheer2:

You know, I'm not sure what you experienced was mental. Some days running are truly harder than others. I'd say about half of my runs feel hard and the other half I feel really good. Your body may have still been recoverying from the longer run on Sunday (and all the DL walking from the weekend) and also may not have been used to exercising at night when you are so much more tired. And the hill may have just been the last straw. Also, how long had it been since you ate before your run? Did you have fuel? And were you hydrated?

The thing is to keep going. Get these training runs in, even if you are struggling through them. Now I'm not talking about running on injuries, but more like getting through them even if you feel like you're running through molasses: slow and sluggish. Honestly, that's how my run was on Monday and half of my run today. I'm kicking up my running a notch and my body hasn't yet adjusted.

Just wait and see how your next run is. My bet is that, as long as you do it in the morning, it will be great and you may find that you've reached a new plateau.

GOOD LUCK! :woohoo:

OKay Jen. Baby steps. I'll be walking 25 minutes a day, for the next 5 days. I'll just start with five days and not think about anything beyond that. :thumbsup2

That's awesome January!
Soon you'll have your 20lb banner! :cool1:

I did C25K W8D1 finally today but all I can say it was a struggle. What is wrong with me?? Last week running for 25 min. was so much easier...not easy but a lot easier! This week I am so unmotivated and it takes everything I have to go out and run. I did not want to go today but I don't want to let more than a day or two go between runs so I HAD to go out today. I ran 1.96 miles according to MapMyRun in 28 min. and I totally felt like I was running in quicksand most of the time...where is that runner's 'high' I keep reading about? Ugh, will it ever get easier and I fall in love with running??

Congratulations on the weight loss! :thumbsup2 You must be very happy!

Okay so after weeks of saying I was going to post on the WISH thread, I finally made it over here.

I gained almost 90 pounds (yes I said 90 :scared1:) with my pregnancy and I've only lost about 30 so far :headache:. I'm so big and out of shape that I feel their is no hope :guilty:.

I had brunch with CaliforniaDreamin (Donna) today and it gave me the boost I needed to get motivated to do something about my weight.

The first step is posting here and getting some ideas on where to start. And believe me, I won't be running. Since I'm still breastfeeding, my chest & running don't mix (not a pretty sight :rolleyes1). So I'm going to start off walking & writing down my food intact in a journal and then I will go from there :yay:.

YES, it will get easier and chances are good that you could fall in love with running. I'm not saying every workout will be pure bliss, but you will have great runs and enjoy this. Trust me. :)

WELCOME!! :woohoo:
When I had gained significant weight from my second baby, I joined weight watchers. Worked like a charm. And they give you many extra points a day if you're breastfeeding, so it's SO doable. I really recommend it.

Made it to the gym today and did my weights.
Tomorrow is a 90 minute run. Ugh.

But the advantages of breastfeeding is that you lose tons of calories...or at least that's what I've read and heard.

If the weather's nice, take the baby for a walk :goodvibes

Good luck, you can do it!

I know what you mean, January. I do like to check into this one every day if possible. That is awesome about the 17 lb!!!!!
:cheer2:

I have had two days off from exercise after a heavy Monday and Tuesday. Tomorrow I'm back at the gym to do my 45 min of cardio and then a class.

Keep up the good work everyone!:cheer2:
