My family and I have taken several trips over the years to WDW. The last several times we have used a lot of mobile technology for the trip to sync reservations for dining and fastpasses, etc...

We are going to DL for the first time in one month and I started looking at the apps and such. Here's a few questions:
1. I don't see anything online or on an app where I can make dining reservations. Is calling the only way to make reservations?
2. Also, If I make reservations, I'm not seeing anywhere on the mobile app or online where you can input the reservation number. Is there no way to do that?

Yes and No.... You click on Dining at the top of the App then click on the Restaurant to expand and see additional info and click on Find a Table (see attached image).

This will ask if you want to open the Disneyland website in your browser. You can enter your date/time, party size and it it will show available times nearest to your search. You can then make the reservation using your Disney account and a credit card to hold the reservation.

i haven't actually made mine yet, so I don't know if that auto links them to the App (using the same account) or not...

We're headed west for the first time in a couple days...after seeing your post, I played around on the app for a minute. My dining reservations don't show up in the app like on MDE (I made my dining reservations online a month or so ago). It's more of an informational app from what I see. Until today I've only used it to observe wait times and schedules.

If you're just making dining reservations in general, you don't have to call. Go to the Disneyland website and on the top it will say Things To Do. Hover over that and a drop down list appears. Click Make Dining Reservations, and go from there, just like for WDW. Like pp said, you can do that through the app too, *kind of*, because it just takes you to the disneyland web page and has you log in and make them from there.

The app is primarily used to see wait times, current FP return times, character schedules, and view PP photos (I don't know if that only for Ap holders). You have to use Disneyland.com, the website, to make, view, modify, or cancel dining reservations (or call, but I like the online option better).

It does work differently than the WDW app. I found that I used it for ride times a lot though as we did a ton of park hopping, where in WDW we had F+ in the App so we worked around that and our ADRs and filled in rides around them as we went. It is a much different style of touring the park which is why the App functions differently. Overall I found it ran smoother though than the way i remember the WDW app working the last time I was there.

Disneyland App is getting more awesome by the day, less relkance on the website.
Website still cool if you can navigate it *eyeroll* :)
