DisneyEverAfter's Escape 5/8/12 SBP/Fultons/Japan ~ TR put on hold...

Hair Accessories???

As I can't sleep (stupid night shift), I have been researching what kind of hair accessory I want. I don't know if I'm going to have a veil. DF's mom has a veil from Micheal's clearance which might do that she bought ages ago, but I don't know if I really want one! Even if I wear the veil I still want some other hair bling, but the question is... WHAT kind do I want??? I'm leaning more towards a nice hair flower.. I try to support my Etsy shop owners so maybe something like these:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/8067084...arch_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade/weddings
or
http://www.etsy.com/listing/71994780/silk-and-feather-wedding-flower-with
or
http://www.etsy.com/listing/6662907...=US&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade

I want something fun & wispy, but not too huge, so I'm undecided.. What does everyone think? What have any of you ladies used or plan on using??? I might even try on making something myself (if it turns out to be cheaper!)

Also, I am working on our invitations. I'm doing them myself.. They are more for keepsakes than for actually inviting people (since we're just basically immediate family + 1 friend). So hopefully I can get a rough draft up tomorrow of what we want! I will also be making a simple wedding program, so I'll be busy tomorrow on my day off! If it's nice again outside tomorrow I'm gunna set up my hammock in the backyard & have fun!

I like the second one you posted! I'm going to wear a two-tier veil, but I'm also going to have my hair pulled back a little on one side with the teardrop crystal comb from Disney Bridal.

So DF & I went ring shopping a few weeks ago and found a ring he liked. Since I had my ring from last year when I found it (and I always knew I wanted a blue ring), Nyx wanted a blue ring to match. We couldn't find very many blue rings in any style he liked, so he found a ring & we had the middle stone replaced with a sapphire to match mine and it came out really nice! :goodvibes We went to pick up the ring last night which got us super excited to go to Disney & get married, so we stopped for ice cream to talk about the wedding plans (YAY)!

Both our rings:

My engagement ring (which needs to be shine-ified soon!) paired with the wedding band:

I love all the rings!

Today was also the day I had a phone session with Danny our planner to discuss our BEO. I love when I get to talk with him! He's so helpful & informative. Our original BEO that included our DP in Japan was $1300 & was way too expensive!!! So I expressed by concern over the price. In our session today we agreed to take out the charter (I just want to make sure our guests are taken care of after the DP & not have to spend hours on a bus to get back to the resort) and we decided to do one-way transportation instead. This will work because all our guests will be staying at All-Star resorts. I know we can use a Taxi, but going backstage afterwards through Epcot might be fun for our guests! & we'll have a one-way for us back to Port Orleans, so we are using 2 in total. We will meet the event guide at the guest relations at Epcot & they will bring us to our DP in Japan. Photography is also included in our BEO at this point because I'm still waiting to hear back from Randy Chapman for our photography.. We're going to use him but still need to pay him, but before we pay him I had a couple questions, so I'm waiting for his answers to those questions, so until I "officially" book him the DP photography is included (it will be taken out once Randy signs the photog waiver for DFTW). We are planning to use the included Escape photography and swap it out for the DP photography in the end.

Our BEO for the Wedding ($4,750!):

RIGHT ON THE MONEY :woohoo: Ladies, IT CAN BE DONE..!

BEO for the Dessert Party (currently $1,088.31.. soon to be $788.31 minus the photog previously mentioned):

Anticipated total: $5538.31

On brighter news, I started a new medication & I've been loosing weight~ unintentionally, but who the hell cares! =P I've been struggling with my weight all my life.. I've been up & down, on and off various medications.. I mean just to give you ladies an idea: I was started on 2 medications the summer between my Freshman and Sophomore years & between the two I gained 50lbs by fall! :sad1: DF has known me when I was a bit thinner to my heaviest I've ever been (235lbs, YIKES) and he says he loves me for who I am, but I hit a milestone & weighed in (under 200 lbs yaaay) at 199lb the other day for the first time in pretty much 4 years, so it makes me really happy! :thumbsup2 But I know I will forever have the curse of flabby-arms (thank you mother lol... I had flabby arms even when I was thinner). ANYWAY /end randomosity...

When we booked Rev Tim Herring as our officiant, DF & I had to talk about the type of ceremony we wanted. The unity candle & sand ceremony are so overdone, so we knew we wanted something different to surprise our guests with. We loved the idea of the wine & love letter ceremony, but as Nyx has heart defects he really can't consume alcohol as it will put too much strain on his heart. We were tossing up the idea of substituting Cider instead, but the more we thought of it, we just wanted the love letter box gosh darnit! :rotfl: So we found a box we liked at Hobby Lobby.. We're going to stain it, add a lock (somehow), & Nyx will wood-burn our wedding date into it for personalization. We hadn't heard of the love box ceremony until we were looking up unique ideas for a ceremony that were non-religious that we can use and came across it.. supposedly it's becoming more and more popular. For any of you ladies that haven't heard of it the bride and groom write letters to each other explaining the reasons they fell in love, why they choose to marry one another, and the good qualities they see in each other before the wedding day. They then lock the letters in the box with the help of the officiant and are instructed not to open the box unless the couple comes across extreme hardship in the relationship and if not, then they open it to read their letters on their 5th, 10th, 25th or whatever year anniversary they choose (and normally the wine/coffee/cider, etc. will be shared, but we are omitting this as I've said).

Our box (thank you my Abby Bunny for letting us use your cage for pictures lol):

I'll update with the final product! =)

By the way, my mother had surprised me with a new digital camera this past Christmas (since I never ask for anything) & it takes fab pics! Can't wait to go on a wonderful vaca with nice piccies (since the old camera sucks) THANKS MOMMA! :cool1:

Joining in!
I love your dress, it's absolutely beautiful.

Thank you for posting your dessert party beo, we were really hoping to book bonsai terrace as well, and it wasn't as high as I expected. Now I have an idea for our budget. Granted our ceremony is next year, so you never know with DFTW.

I am glad to see it all worked out with your DP venue, it stinks that it can be such a headache for escape brides. :headache: I can't wait to read more about your plans. :goodvibes

Thank you & your welcome!! It definitely was a headache, but you just have to be persistent and ASK, ya know? :goodvibes They didn't even give me Japan as an option, I just knew it existed from PassPorters! I think we'll be happy with Japan for our budget & group size. I love looking at BEOs to get an idea so I figured ours would be of help to others :D

I made our own monogram! I think it came out alright. I did it using MSWord & Paint. Not too bad. Simple & clean~

Hey ladies! I'm having a hard time deciding between these two earrings to go with my necklace...

Together up close:
IMG_0053.jpg

I bought the ones on the right hoping they matched the pearls in the necklace, which they do, but now I'm leaning towards the new ones I bought yesterday (on left) because they're in the shape of teardrop, which is kinda the shape of the necklace... What do you think?

Ooohh I like the ones on the left better. They're both very pretty, but the ones on the left match the necklace perfectly!

Hi! I have no idea why I haven't been commenting but I've been following along! Your necklace is beautiful and really is a nice combination of classic and modern.

I love that you stuck to your guns about your DP location and got something you were happy with in the end! It really never hurts to ask questions and I'm sure that will be a big help to future Escape brides. I hope I can be like you if/when the time comes that I'm not happy with something from DFTW!

Personally, I prefer the pearl earrings. The ones on the left really do match but whenever I wear a statement necklace like that I try to balance it out with earrings that compliment the necklace in a more understated way. I also have an affinity for pearl earrings in general :cutie: Either pair will look lovely, though!

Thanks ladies! I think I'm going with the first ones on the left :lovestruc I love both of them dearly buuuut I think the tear drop ones do go better with the style of the necklace, so I'm GOING FOR IT. :goodvibes

Thanks for reading along! We're paying all this money for a "product" and if we don't get what we want from the cookie cuter (aka escape weddings =P), we definitely should be able to bargain!! :thumbsup2 I'm definitely a bargainer... lol.. But like you said, it never hurts to ask :D

Hey guys! The Love Box has progressed! Nyx got his wood burner from his parents' house and burned the wedding date into the top. We then changed out the hardware on the front so that we can be able to lock it.. Well, we bought a lock & it didn't fit.. BOOOOO. =( so we bought a slightly bigger one and it STILL didn't fit! this one was too big now... CRAAAAP. I am not buying any more dang locks! >_< We will probably find some nice ribbon or something to use to "lock" the box... Let's be creative here... lol

The wood burned date! Notice the kitty creeping in the lower right corner :rolleyes1
IMG_0030.jpg

Trying to take a picture of the inside that DF secretly did to surprise me when kitty said NO & blocked the pic just in time =P
IMG_0031.jpg

Shoo'd her away to take a pic :lovestruc
IMG_0032.jpg

The new hardware.. (yes I know there's a hole.. we were hoping the lock would hide it so now we have a new task at hand to hide it... D: )
IMG_0033.jpg

And our furbabies! Let me introduce our Luna Marie on the left & Rayne (although we never call her that.. it was her previous name) aka BABY Jane on the right =P They're twinsies!
IMG_0059.jpg

The box has already been stained, just waiting to finish the process of glazing, glazing, & glazing again to finish it off =P Will post the finished product tomorrow once the last glaze dries :cool1: And I finished our DIY invites! I'll post those tomorrow too :D Gettin' close to the big day!

Oh no, I can't see any of those pictures. The image shows to have been removed from photo bucket?? :confused3

*Cries!* I don't know what happened to all these pictures! There are next to none left on my PJ! I have to go edit all my previous posts with pics in it :confused3 I don't know what's up with this photo bucket linkage! Gah! *shake fist!!!!*

Okay, now that I fixed this picture problem, I wanna just update with the finished love box! We stained it and then put a shiny finish to the outside (we don't see a reason to do the inside), and I like the way it turned out =) It makes it extra special Nyx was able to help me with the wood burning & staining! I got out easy by just doing the finishing touches =P

I wanna add that I finished our (for fun) DIY invites! & I'm jumping on the bandwagon with this whole bridal hanger thing so I made my own~ Gotta admit, they're cute! & I've got a lot of updates so I'll do a big update tomorrow (hopefully)!

Love the box, it is gorgeous :)
I would love to see how you do your hanger too- would love to make my own x
